Two high-ranking Juventus officials attended the recent Nations League game between Germany and the Netherlands to keep tabs on Brian Brobbey and Virgil van Dijk. The pair is on their radar ahead of next summer, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

Directors Ricky Massara and Marco Ottolini have a few future free agents in their sights. The defender’s contract is currently slated to expire in June. The Bianconeri will throw their hat in the ring if he indeed leaves Liverpool for free, trying to seize the opportunity to bring in a defensive leader, albeit aging, in a cost-effective move.

In addition to Van Dijk, Juventus have shortlisted Brobbey, ideally to back up Randal Kolo Muani down the line. They signed Nick Woltemade on loan for that purpose on deadline day. However, he’d have to fare exceptionally well to stay. They have no option to buy, and his price tag is massive. Bayern Munich are already tracking for the future.

Instead, the 25-year-old has been playing at Sunderland in the last couple of seasons after filling his boots with Ajax. He has notched 10 goals in 36 Premier League matches.

As far as Dutchmen are concerned, the Bianconeri are expected to make further attempts to offload Teun Koopmeiners. He hasn’t stepped up with a couple of their top midfielders on the mend . They’ll need to pocket €26M to avoid a net loss next summer.

Our Take on Juventus Eyeing Van Dijk and Brobbey

It’s only fair to try, but it’d be surprising if the former’s salary were within their reach, should he leave Liverpool. Instead, they should acquire a proper bruiser to pair up with Kolo Muani to have a better offensive assortment.
