Rio Ferdinand's 10-Word Post as Man City Found Guilty of 115 Charges

Rio Ferdinand's 10-word Man Utd post instantly goes viral as Man City are found guilty of 115 charges.
In astonishing news, reports suggest that Manchester City have been found guilty of breaching financial rules. Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand has been among the first big names to respond to the news.
Manchester City were hit with 115 different charges following an investigation into alleged breaches relating to the Premier League's financial regulations between 2009 and 2018. It now looks as though the Etihad club are set to be found guilty of all but one of the charges .
Sanctions have not been decided yet, but all possibilities remain on the table. Man City are expected to appeal but if they aren't successful, they will likely suffer a big punishment.
In a post which almost instantly went viral, Ferdinand took to social media to offer up a 10-word response to the news. He seemed to think that the Cityzens will be stripped of their titles, as he wrote:
> "Another Premier League medal to be added to the cabinet."
Ferdinand won six Premier League titles in his career, but was denied a seventh by Manchester City in 2010/11. This was the famous Sergio Aguero goal, as the Argentine fired Roberto Mancini's side to glory with a last-gasp strike against Queens Park Rangers. However, if Man City are stripped of their titles as a punishment, Ferdinand could be in line for a belated seventh Premier League triumph.
Because the charges brought against the club are for allegedly violating financial regulations between 2009 and 2018, Man Utd could also be in line for another title . In 2017/18, Pep Guardiola's men stormed to victory with a record 100 points but that success could now be taken from them.
Jose Mourinho's side finished way off the pace on 81 points, but that was enough to come second. Ferdinand left Old Trafford in 2014, so it wouldn't add to his personal tally, but Old Trafford could now welcome two extra titles.
Man City have since won the league in 2018/19, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, and 2023/24 but as these all have come outside of the period in which the club are alleged to have violated financial regulations (between 2009 and 2018), they would likely retain them.
Several teams could win belated league titles with Man City found guilty over their 115 charges, but Mikel Arteta’s men still wouldn’t get a trophy.
Reacting to the latest news, a Man City spokesperson told The Athletic : > "The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality. As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023. > > “The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”
