Uncomfortable Truth: Leeds Face Fight to Keep Daniel Farke
· GiveMeSport
Leeds manager Daniel Farke faces contract uncertainty amidst managerial changes in the Premier League.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is in the final year of his contract at Elland Road, and we're entering a worrying period in the season when it comes to managers.
Sacking a manager before an international break is usually seen as the perfect time to make a change.
It allows a new manager and have two or three weeks to settle in, meet a portion of the players, get his backroom staff set up, and just break the ice at their new club.
There are no real signs that Farke could be heading for the exit door, and it's certainly something that Leeds will actively be looking to avoid.
However, it's always a concerning situation when a manager has little time remaining on his contract.
Leeds need to be doing everything in their power to try and get a new deal for Farke agreed as soon as possible.
Not only is the international break approaching, but we're also approaching the time of the year when clubs will make changes if they have had disastrous starts to the season.
Clubs like Fulham, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and even Manchester United are in precarious positions at the moment, which could be a concern for Leeds.
Some of the aforementioned clubs might not be the most attractive prospects right now, but if Farke believes in their projects and wants to take the next step, Leeds need to be doing everything they can to avoid that situation.
Extending his contract as soon as possible would help eliminate any speculation, as there's no doubt many clubs would be keen on bringing in a manager like him.
The uncomfortable truth for Leeds fans is that their club are punching well above their weight under Farke.
Clubs around the Premier League, perhaps sides who are competing in Europe, are going to be impressed with the job he's done, and that could lead to interest very soon.
It's never that simple to get managers out of clubs, but with Farke's contract running down, it could be a little easier than Leeds hope.
Either way, Leeds need to be doing everything in their power to tie Farke down to a new deal as soon as possible.
