Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Tuesday taken to social media, to issue an official response to missing out on the Ballon d’Or award.
Attacker Lamine was of course in attendance yesterday evening, as the Ballon d’Or gala was held in front of a packed crowd at the London Palladium.
The 19-year-old was considered to be amongst the very frontrunners for the accolade, after a spectacular year culminating in glory in both La Liga and at the World Cup.
When all was said and done, though, Lamine was forced to make do with a place in 3rd, behind Kylian Mbappé, and ‘Golden Ball’ winner Harry Kane.
Upon cameras panning to the Barcelona prodigy at the gala, Lamine looked nothing short of devastated with the outcome.
With the dust having since settled on the ceremony, and the young winger having had time to mull things over, though, Lamine has taken to his official social media platforms, to unveil the following statement:
> “It’ll come. Good things take time, and I trust the path I’m building. There’s no rush. I’m full of hope and confidence that one day my moment will come. > > “Congratulations to the winners. My focus now returns to what really matters: helping Barcelona win again.”
