The pressure is really on! The Lower Saxony derby between Eintracht Braunschweig and Hannover 96 is hugely important on the pitch, with both teams deep in the relegation mire in the 2. Bundesliga.

Neither set of supporters needs reminding just how much this fixture means emotionally, either. The build-up to this derby has once again made that abundantly clear.

A few days ago, 96 fans paid a visit to the hall where Braunschweig supporters were working on their tifo display for derby day. The Hannover fans apparently made off with so much material that the display can no longer go ahead as planned. BTSV ultras left notices explaining the situation on the stadium seats before the match.

The notice reads in part: "A large part of the tifo is no longer in our hands, which simply made it impossible to put on the display. Sometimes you're the dog, sometimes you're the tree – in this case, we're very clearly the ones getting pissed on."

At the same time, the Blue and Yellows said they would "definitely learn our lessons from this whole affair." We'll be watching with interest to see whether they deliver a response in the stands today, or their players do so on the pitch!
