Dani Olmo has no intention of leaving Barcelona in January despite reports linking the Spain international with a move to Bayern Munich, according to Florian Plettenberg .

The midfielder is happy at the Spotify Camp Nou, and a winter departure is currently ruled out.

Bayern are also not working on a deal for the 28-year-old at this stage, despite speculation that they could target him to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window .

Olmo remains under contract with Barcelona until 2030. The Catalan giants are in a strong position to retain his services should interest from elsewhere emerge.

The Bayern links were partly fuelled by Olmo’s connections with key figures at the German club.

Sporting director Max Eberl worked at RB Leipzig during the midfielder’s spell there, while Christoph Freund previously held a senior role at Red Bull Salzburg.

Olmo began his senior career with Dinamo Zagreb before joining Leipzig, where he registered 29 goals and 34 assists across four years in Germany.

His performances earned him a return to Spanish football with Barcelona, for whom he has recorded 21 goals and 21 assists in 100 appearances across all competitions.

The playmaker has contributed one goal and four assists in 12 appearances this season, although his campaign has now been disrupted by injury.

Barcelona confirmed that tests revealed an injury to Olmo’s left adductor muscle following a collision during their Champions League encounter against Paris Saint-Germain.

The La Masia graduate is expected to spend around a month on the sidelines, ruling him out of this weekend’s highly anticipated El Clasico against Real Madrid.

His absence is a setback for Barcelona, who will have to cope without one of their creative options for a crucial period of the campaign.

The Catalan giants will likely turn to Pedri, Rodri, and Fermin Lopez for the Madrid showdown as they look to bounce back from their 4-2 loss to PSG.
