Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Declan Rice lauded fellow countryman Harry Kane, ahead of Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

> “He is the clear winner. His numbers speak for themselves. The year he has had has been remarkable,” Rice told TNT Sports . “When you play with him, you realise how good he is, and when you play against him, you see how much of a pain it is.

> “He is ridiculous, such a good player, and I am lucky I can play with him, not so lucky I have to play against him.”

Harry Kane’s numbers

By converting his 61st-minute penalty, Kane became only the second player in Champions League history to score in 10 successive games, last achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo – who scored in 11 straight games – between 2017 and 2018.

This season, Kane already has 10 goals and seven assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.
