Bayer Leverkusen's Patrik Schick enters the records books with stunning goalscoring run
· Bundesliga-Official
Six games, six goals, and a place in Bayer Leverkusen’s history books. Patrik Schick continued his remarkable start to the 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign on Sunday, scoring the winner in a 2-1 comeback victory over Freiburg to establish a new club record.
There appears to be no stopping Schick at the moment. The Czech international has been in irresistible goalscoring form since the beginning of the season, and his latest contribution proved particularly significant as Leverkusen inflicted a first league defeat of the season on previously unbeaten Freiburg .
With the scores level at 1-1 and just 14 minutes remaining at the BayArena, Schick was in exactly the right place to convert Ibrahim Maza's cutback after a superb piece of individual skill from the young midfielder.
It was a relatively straightforward finish for a player of Schick’s quality, but one that carried considerable historical significance.
