The injury exit of Manu Koné in the 17th minute during the Champions League match between AS Rome and Real Madrid (3-4) plunged his club and the French team into concern. Hit in the thigh, the former Toulouse player suffers a first-degree injury which deprives him of competition for several weeks, also forcing Zinédine Zidane to potentially readjust his plans in midfield for the next meeting of the Blues.
At a press conference, Roman coach Gian Piero Gasperini wanted to clarify the physical situation of his player this Friday: “Koné had an MRI, he suffered from a first degree lesion. It’s not particularly serious, but it takes time to get over it. We hope he will be reinstated against Sassuolo before the break.»
