The transfer team at La Liga giants Real Madrid have earmarked a member of the academy ranks at Portuguese outfit Sporting CP as a prime transfer target.
That’s according to ESPN , who highlight Jacobo Afonso as the player in question.
Afonso, for his part, is a 15-year-old midfielder, who ‘plays in the inside position and stands out for his physical prowess, ability to arrive from the second line and good ball handling’.
The starlet is already a youth international for Spain, most recently afforded a call-up to La Roja’s U16 outfit.
And his ongoing rise through the ranks at club and international alike, as alluded to above, has proven enough to pique the interest of one of the leading clubs in Afonso’s home country.
Amid an ongoing scouring of the market for fresh up-and-coming talent, Real Madrid are understood to have set their sights firmly on the midfielder’s signature.
Los Blancos have long been keeping a close eye on Afonso’s development, ahead of moving forward with a potential proposal for his services over the months ahead.
