Jude Bellingham made his 150th appearance for Real Madrid in their recent UEFA Champions League match against AS Roma.

After receiving a commemorative shirt at the Ciudad Real Madrid training complex earlier today, the English midfielder spoke to the club’s official media about the milestone, his role in the team and his ambitions for the season.

Bellingham enjoying his role at Real Madrid

> “I am very happy and proud. It is always a pleasure to play for this club, and I hope to do so for many more years,” Bellingham said.

> “Real Madrid means a great deal to me because it is the biggest club in the world. It is a great honour to play here and reach 150 appearances,” he added.

The 23-year-old also discussed his place in the team and the challenges of the current season, joking about the idea that he could already be considered a veteran.

> “I am 23 years old, so if I am a veteran… I am enjoying my role in the team, and hopefully we can improve and win trophies,” he explained.

> “Sometimes we have more difficult matches, but we have won almost all of them. We need to keep working and improving.”

A superstar addition

Real Madrid signed Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, in a deal worth over €100 million.

The England international has proven to be an excellent signing for the Spanish capital club, playing an important role in the club’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League triumphs in his debut season.

In his 150 appearances so far, Bellingham has racked up 49 goals and 36 assists.

While trophies have dried since his first season, the 23-year-old has continued to shine brightly, especially in the ongoing season under Jose Mourinho, registering three goals and three assists from ten appearances.

Despite his age, Bellingham is already seen as one of the leaders of this Real Madrid side. And his comments underline his desire to continue developing alongside his teammates and help the Spanish heavyweights compete for silverware.

In fact, only earlier today, reports confirmed that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Bellingham over a new contract until 2031.
