Bayern Munich is making progress with Jamal Musiala’s recovery, but the attacking midfielder will have to wait a little longer before returning to action. Meanwhile, Manuel Neuer’s availability for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig remains uncertain.
According to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Musiala completed approximately 45 minutes of rehabilitation training at Säbener Straße this morning alongside rehab coach Simon Martinello. The session included running at varying speeds and light ball work, offering another encouraging sign in his recovery.
However, Bayern Munich is not prepared to rush their star back into action. Musiala will definitely miss Saturday’s match against RB Leipzig per the report, while a return for next week’s Champions League showdown against Arsenal is also considered virtually impossible.
The timing of Musiala’s return to team training will depend on how his muscles respond to the increased workload over the coming days. Bayern Munich is determined to avoid any unnecessary risks, prioritizing his long-term fitness over a premature comeback.
Neuer’s situation is less clear-cut. The Bayern Munich captain did not participate in team training today because of discomfort in his foot, completing only indoor exercises instead. A final decision on whether he can feature against Leipzig is expected tomorrow.
With Bayern Munich facing a demanding stretch of fixtures, the club will be keen to have both players available as soon as possible. Musiala’s creativity and ability to unlock defenses would be a major boost, while Neuer’s experience and leadership remain invaluable between the posts.
For now, though, patience is the priority. Bayern Munich has little incentive to gamble with Musiala’s recovery, and Neuer’s status should become clearer after the next assessment.
Vincent Kompany will have to prepare for the possibility of being without both players against RB Leipzig, with the club taking a cautious approach to ensure short-term selection decisions do not create bigger problems down the line.
