After raiding FC Barcelona for Ferran Torres this past summer, it appears that PSG have set their sights on another player from the Catalan club.

Indeed, according to Le Parisien (h/t Sport.fr ), the French and European champions have set their sights on Barça defender Eric Garcia and are prepared to offer €70 million to sign him in the summer of 2027.

Manager Luis Enrique is understood to be seeking a player capable of providing cover for Marquinhos at centre-back and Achraf Hakimi at right-back. And Garcia, owing to his versatility and proven pedigree at the highest level, has emerged as a target.

PSG prepared to spend €70 million on Garcia

The 25-year-old Spain international has become an undisputed starter under Hansi Flick at Barcelona this season.

Garcia has impressed to such an extent that Jules Kounde has lost his place in the starting line-up at right-back.

So far this term, the former Manchester City ace, who was part of the Spain squad that won the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has featured in eight of Barcelona’s ten matches across all competitions.

Luis Enrique believes Garcia can perform effectively both at centre-back and at right-back. As such, PSG are considering an offer worth €70 million to acquire his services.

Barcelona have little incentive to sell

Such a bid would put the Blaugrana in a difficult position, although it is unlikely that they will entertain a proposal for Garcia, having only recently tied him down to a new contract until 2031.

The club even included him in the captaincy group this season , indicating how highly he is valued by Flick and the management.

The defender’s own intentions will also be important. Having finally established himself as a regular starter and an influential figure at his boyhood club, Garcia will likely be reluctant to leave just as his role in the team has grown.

Whether PSG are prepared to make a formal offer remains to be seen, but any potential deal is likely to depend on both Barcelona’s willingness to negotiate and Garcia’s own view of his future.

And, as things stand, there is little indication to suggest that either party would be willing to consider a parting of ways next summer.
