Bayern Munich chairman Herbert Hainer has played down the prospect of Michael Olise joining Real Madrid, insisting he expects the French winger to extend his contract with the German champions.
His comments come as Bayern work to secure the future of a player who has attracted interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Notably, Real Madrid remain among Olise’s admirers , but Bayern are determined to retain control of the situation.
The 24-year-old’s current contract runs until 2029, giving the Bundesliga club a strong negotiating position as discussions over an extension continue.
Bayern are prepared to offer Olise a significant pay rise, potentially making him their highest-paid player.
However, the negotiations also involve a key sticking point: the winger’s desire to include a release clause in any new agreement.
Olise to Real Madrid? Bayern chairman sends contract message
Hainer addressed the speculation linking Olise with a move to the Santiago Bernabéu and made clear that Bayern do not intend to sell simply because another club shows interest.
> “On the rumours about Real Madrid over the summer, I can say that I’m convinced Bayern is a club that doesn’t get forced to sell players.
> “We make our decisions from a position of strength. Olise has a contract until 2029, and I hope he’ll extend,” he said, as per Fabrizio Romano .
Bayern Munich willing to make Olise their highest-paid player
Bayern are willing to raise Olise’s annual salary from around €14 million to more than €25 million, a figure that would put him ahead of Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala in the club’s wage structure.
The player is said to be seeking that higher level of remuneration as negotiations progress.
The biggest obstacle may be the release clause, as Olise wants an exit mechanism included in his new contract, while Bayern are reluctant to surrender some of their control over a player they view as central to their future.
Real Madrid face €200m obstacle in Michael Olise pursuit
Bayern are understood to value Olise at around €200 million, while the player’s own expectations are considerably lower.
That gap could complicate any future transfer, even if Real Madrid decide to pursue him more seriously.
For now, Bayern’s priority is to reach an agreement that rewards Olise while protecting the club’s interests.
Hainer’s public confidence suggests the German side believes a renewal is possible, but the final outcome will depend on whether both parties can find common ground over salary and a potential release clause.
