Carrick Must Turn Things Around at Man Utd as Conte Eyes Move

· GiveMeSport

Michael Carrick faces pressure after poor results as Antonio Conte seeks a return to management at Manchester United.

United's latest result against Tottenham will have been a major concern for many at Old Trafford. Spurs were still searching for their first win, and even after going down to 10 men, Roberto De Zerbi's side managed to find an equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw.

The Red Devils found themselves in front, and when Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off just a few minutes later, it was perfectly set up for United to take all three points.

Unfortunately for them, they couldn't hold on, with Dominic Solanke winning the battle against Lisandro Martinez in the box to head beyond Senne Lammens.

With United sitting in the bottom half of the table with just one win, which came against a newly promoted side, there's no doubt Carrick needs to buck his ideas up quickly.

It's especially important when you see managers like Antonio Conte, who has previously won the Premier League, currently available and willing to get back into management.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Conte is ready to take on another managerial role , especially a 'historical club' in a 'top league'.

> "What I can tell you is that Antonio Conte is absolutely ready to restart. Antonio Conte left Napoli in the summer, and Antonio Conte would be ready to restart. He rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia. He rejected approaches from Turkey because he wanted to go to a historical club and in a top, top league. So this is the mission. Then let's see what's going to happen."

A historical and big club certainly describes United, so Carrick might be a little worried if managers like him are ready and waiting for their next role.

Sacking Carrick right now does feel unlikely, given the job he did for United last season, but the pressure will undoubtedly start mounting with every poor result.

Michael Carrick is under increasing pressure after yet another poor performance by Manchester United.

According to Italian football presenter Marco Messina, Conte wants to make the move to United .

Reports have also claimed that Conte is one of the managers who would be in the frame for the role if United did decide to sack Carrick in the near future.

If a manager like that is available, a target for United, and keen on the role, then Carrick really should be worried.

The former midfielder needs to buck up his ideas fast if he wants to continue as manager, as INEOS and the decision-makers must be contemplating a change if the poor performances and results continue.
