PSG are taking advantage of their squad by leaving allowing some key players to rest after the international break.

The international is over, and all over Europe players are back training with their teams.

PSG have taken a different approach with two of their players. They’ve been giving Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembele the weekend off busy periods of international football with Portugal and France respectively.

Neither will be in the squad to face Le Mans this weekend – we’ve seen similar already this season, with many of their stars integrated slowly into the season after a busy World Cup summer.

PSG take advantage of their weak league to help Champions League chances

As has been pointed by a few people PSG are paying a different game to everyone else. They have so much quality, so much depth, and so much strength relative to their league opposition, that they can simply rest their best players and regular starters for periods mid-season.

It’s worked wonders in keeping the team fresh and making sure they peak both physically and mentally at the crucial moment of the season, at the sharp end of the Champions League knock out stages. The rest of the Champions League have their work cut out for them already.
