Can Kylian Mbappé succeed in the club of his dreams? He who has always proclaimed his desire to one day wear the merengue tunic, is the Bondynois ruining everything? The question deserves to be asked after all the media hype it has received. In fact, we could just read the astonishing personal statistics of the captain of the French team in Madrid (94 goals, 14 assists in 111 matches). But for several months, the reaction of the Spanish media, and especially in Madrid, has shown that this is not enough.

Last season, Mbappé finished top scorer in La Liga (25 goals), the Champions League (15 goals) and the 2026 World Cup (10 goals). However, at the time when the Frenchman launched an XXL media campaign for the Ballon d’Or, we very quickly felt that “Madridismo” was reluctant to support number 10 merengue body and soul in his quest. The fault lies in behavior deemed inappropriate in addition to two seasons spent without winning any major trophy. The matter is far from being resolved since the “Kyks” has once again been talked about without playing. Wednesday, the famous Spanish show El Chiringuito assured that the Madrid striker had made another round trip to Paris during the day on Tuesday and that José Mourinho had reframed him after the publication of his cycling video on his social networks. A fact which was seen as a provocation towards the Special One.

Madrid doesn’t understand

In the Spanish capital, voices are still being raised to defend Mbappé. “ Mbappé is not fooling anyone: as soon as he arrived, everyone knew that he was not a player who came to defend. He wasn’t hired for this, although that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t do it. Of course he has to do it and his coaches have to demand it. Mbappé’s big problem is having worked alongside Vinicius at Real Madrid “, declared journalist Monica Marchante on the radio microphone Cadena COPE.

However, The Team revealed the feeling that exists within Casa Blanca about Mbappé. “ After more than two years, we have the impression that he still has not understood how Real and its environment work, and the behavior he should adopt. He is very poorly advised and, in terms of image, it does everyone a disservice, both him and the club », Confided an internal source at Casa Blanca to the daily. Yet another tackle for the Frenchman which clearly demonstrates that Mbappé will have to do much more than stack goals to become the merengue idol he dreams of being.
