The Tottenham Hotspur forward has not been included in the Premier League squad and is looking to complete a move away

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison is trying to force the club to rip up his contract and allow him to move back to Brazil, according to reports in his home nation. The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from Spurs throughout the summer transfer window.

There were talks of a potential swap deal between Tottenham and Everton, involving Iliman Ndiaye. However, the latter eventually completed a move to Manchester City.

Richarlison released a statement appearing to hit out at Tottenham amid the speculation over a potential return to Everton. "After everything I've gone through in recent years, I decided that NEVER AGAIN would they decide my future for me," he wrote.

> "I went through a lot of bad things during this time, and almost all of them happened because of decisions made by other people. Pressure, threats, retaliation - none of that scares me. I've been through worse things... believe me!

> "I have always made it clear, at every opportunity, that my departure to another place would also have to be good for the club. If it wasn't, I would never accept it... just as I didn't accept it when everything here was crumbling and they needed me. I stayed and gave my life. So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect that I have always had for Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don't try to decide for me.

> “If they reach an agreement Between Spurs and Everton I will return to my heart's club. My intention was indeed to return to the place where I was very happy. It's just that negotiations were going the way people wanted, and it won't be that way anymore. Despite this turmoil, I have a contract with Spurs And I will be at the club's disposal."

He has since been linked with a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor. Reports say that he agreed a move to the club, but Tottenham rejected two offers, with the highest being £20 million.

Brazilian outlet Globo now claims that Richarlison is ready to fight Tottenham to try and force his way out of the club. It's claimed that he is looking to take legal action to try and cancel his contract at sign for Vasco da Gama.

Richarlison has not been included in Roberto De Zerbi's 25-man Premier League squad, meaning that his only first team appearances can come in cup competitions. The player is reportedly using the example of Renan Lodi, who was able to have his contract terminated after benig excluded from the Saudi Pro League squad.

Vasco De Gama are said to be working on a potential deal that will see Richarlison return to his childhood club, but they won't be able to meet the asking price of more that £20m. FIFA rules are also said to be making a loan deal difficult to do.

The 29-year-old has been with Tottenham since joining from Everton in 2022. He has made 134 appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists, with his only appearance this season coming in the season opener against Brentford.
