Forget Palmer: Man Utd Must Sign Jude Bellingham, He's Better Than Bruno Fernandes

Man Utd will be faced with the task of replacing Bruno Fernandes soon, and there is one standout candidate for the role.
Manchester United will be faced with the task of replacing Bruno Fernandes sooner rather than later, and it's a decision that they cannot afford to get wrong.
The Red Devils captain is under contract until the end of this season, but the club hold the option to extend his deal for a further 12 months, while they are also in talks to extend his deal beyond that following his incredible performances in recent years.
Since joining from Sporting CP in January 2019, Fernandes has been sensational. The Portugal star has scored 111 goals and registered 109 assists in 334 appearances, but he has been restricted to lifting just one Carabao Cup and one FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford.
Fernandes is now 32 years old, and he won't be able to carry on at his high level forever. There are some at Old Trafford who likely felt that youngster JJ Gabriel would be the long-term heir to his throne, but he now looks set to depart the club following a fallout with the board , and the 15-year-old seems to be heading to Spain.
There have also been a number of links with players who are seen as potential replacements for Fernandes, including Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer , who was a United fan growing up and is reportedly open to making the move should the opportunity arise.
But if Man Utd are serious about bringing in a player to take over the mantle of not only being the main man on the pitch, but also the face of the club for years to come, then it's clear that there is only one man who should be entrusted with such a task.
When Jude Bellingham was a teenager, he visited Old Trafford and spoke to club chiefs about potentially joining, even meeting Sir Alex Ferguson. But the youngster and his parents instead opted to move abroad and join Borussia Dortmund.
There, he became a top midfield talent and eventually joined Real Madrid in a deal worth £115m, including bonuses, in 2023. Since then, he has become one of the very best in the world.
Whether it be playing as a 10, scoring goals and setting up teammates, or playing deeper and controlling games with his all-action style, Bellingham can do it all. Speaking ahead of the World Cup, England teammate Morgan Rogers was full of praise for the midfield general.
> "He’s one of the best players in the world… Sometimes people can misinterpret the way he comes across.
> "He's got the biggest drive to win I've ever met in my life. He wouldn't be where he is, playing for Real Madrid, competing in the biggest games in football, without the character, without the personality. It's a bit strange, because he is our golden boy, he's the one that we should be cherishing, and pointing to the world that this is our player."
Man Utd have reportedly previously been willing to break their transfer record to bring Bellingham to the club , and it's clear that he is the man they should be targeting to take Bruno's place.
On the pitch, Bellingham is the more complete player and he can be a player who replaces many of the goals and assists that will leave alongside the Portuguese magnifico. But he is also a brilliant leader and someone who would command the respect of everyone around him immediately.
Standards at Man Utd have slipped since Ferguson's retirement in 2013, but Bellingham would make sure that everything and everyone is pulling in the right direction to take the club back to the top. He's a relentless presser, demanding of himself and everyone around him, an the perfect professional.
If Man Utd want to get better and not fall off a cliff, then they must move Heaven and Earth to bring Bellingham to the Premier League in one of their famous red shirts.
