The club's statement

> "RCD Espanyol have decided to bring Manolo González's tenure as first-team head coach to an end. The club and the Galician coach part ways after more than three seasons and 107 competitive matches in charge of the Blue and Whites' first team, a period during which he has left his personal and professional mark both on the pitch and in his day-to-day work.

> Through hard work, dedication and sacrifice, Manolo González worked his way up to establish himself as a La Liga coach. During his two full seasons in the top flight, he met the sporting objectives set for him and kept the team among the elite of Spanish football, demonstrating his work ethic and commitment in one of professional football's most demanding competitions.

> Manolo González's professional career is an example of hard work, perseverance and overcoming challenges. The Blue and Whites' coach has worked his way through the various levels of football, from its humblest tiers to the top division, building his career step by step through learning and daily hard work. On 7 September, he reached 100 competitive matches in charge of the first team in the game against Sevilla, becoming the coach with the ninth-most matches in the club's history and the first to pass this milestone since Mauricio Pochettino.

> RCD Espanyol, on behalf of president Alan Pace and the Board of Directors, would like to thank Manolo González for the work, involvement and effort he has shown since taking charge of the first team. The club particularly values the professionalism and commitment he has brought to his role throughout this period, as well as the dedication with which he has faced sporting challenges. The club would also like to take this opportunity to wish Manolo González the very best of luck and success in his future career and personal life".
