The winner of the Ballon d’Or this year still remains a secret, and with just over 24 hours to go, it is surprising that there is still no word of the winner.

All that is known at this point is that there are three big favourites – Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal – and that the award could well go to any of the three players.

Mbappe’s season, on an individual level, was far better than both his competitors’, but the lack of a trophy for club and country seems to be working against him. Yet, his odds of winning are said to have increased reasonably in recent hours, and he remains a top candidate.

The star will be in attendance

As confirmed in a report by RMC Sport now, Mbappe will be attending the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London tomorrow. He will be at the event, although it remains unknown if his decision to travel has anything to do with insider information about him winning.

The player has a massive game ahead of him tonight as Real Madrid take on Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou in a game that will have a massive effect on the title race.

After completing the game with Real Madrid, the player will undertake the journey to be in London for a night he hopes will be one of his most fond memories for the years to come.

Real Madrid will travel too

Relations between Real Madrid and France Football have not been great in recent years, especially since Vinicius Jr. was snubbed of the award and came second to Rodri two years ago.

After that event, Real Madrid decided to boycott the award and did not travel or have any representation at last year’s ceremony.

Now, however, the club has decided to repair relations and has ended its Ballon d’Or boycott. A delegation from the club will also travel to London to attend the ceremony in addition to Mbappe.

After two boycotts, Real Madrid will thus be present at the event and there is speculation that the club’s decision may have to do with insider information about Mbappe winning. At this point, however, everything remains in suspense.
