Thibaut Courtois is still hopeful of playing in tonight's Clásico against Barcelona and could travel with Real Madrid despite having been ruled out with flu-like symptoms.
Mario Cortegana (The Athletic) broke the news, which has also been confirmed by AS and Alberto Pereiro (Onda Cero).
The club announced on Sunday morning that the Belgian goalkeeper would miss the match through illness, but that could now change.
Courtois, 34, is Mourinho's first-choice goalkeeper and has started every match this season. He has kept 98 clean sheets in LaLiga and has been one of the team's standout players this campaign.
While his situation remains unresolved, Real Madrid C goalkeeper Illia Voloshyn is travelling with the first team. A Ukraine international up to under-20 level, he has yet to make his first-team debut; Sergio Mestre is the other goalkeeper in the travelling squad alongside Lunin, who will start in Courtois' absence.
El Clásico kicks off at 21:00, with Madrid six points behind Barça in the standings.
