Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall has previously been linked with a move to Serie A. Clubs had been monitoring his situation in the summer, when things around his future seemed very uncertain. The Swede stayed at the London giants but his future remains far from secure.
Niccolo Ceccarini has reported that Napoli want to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.
This is mainly because they are at risk of losing Andre Frank Zambo-Anguissa, Stanislav Lobotka and Kevin De Bruyne in a short space of time. This will leave them short in midfield and has led to them monitoring the Tottenham midfielder, who can depart in January.
Apart from the Partenopei, Barcelona are also interested, with clubs expected to have an uphill task to land the talent.
Bergvall needs game time
The midfielder joined the English side with significant promise but due to Tottenham’s instability, things have never gone to plan. His development has suffered and he isn’t a regular under Roberto De Zerbi.
That should be reason enough for him to actively seek a departure and Napoli could be the right place, as they will hand them regular minutes next season onwards.
