Bayern Munich honorary president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would love to see Harry Kane become the next player from the club to win the Ballon d’Or, believing the English striker has a compelling case thanks to his individual performances and trophy haul.
Rummenigge knows what it takes to reach the summit of the sport, having won the prestigious individual award in 1980. More than four decades later, he hopes Kane can follow in his footsteps and deliver another historic moment for the German giants.
> “I was the last Bayern player to win the award, so I would like to see another Bayern player win it now. That would have a very special significance for us as a club as well. The decisive criterion is individual performance, and Harry Kane has the edge there – his goals and his trophies speak for themselves,” Rummenigge told ranSport (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ).
Kane has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards since joining Bayern Munich, combining extraordinary goalscoring numbers with his ability to influence matches at the highest level. His continued success in Munich has strengthened his credentials among the world’s elite players.
Of course, winning major trophies will remain crucial to his chances. If Kane continues delivering individually while leading Bayern Munich to silverware, could he finally become the club’s next Ballon d’Or winner?
