Those in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made the call to end their boycott of the Ballon d’Or ceremony. This comes amid the understanding that Los Blancos will have a delegation present at the upcoming ceremony.
Real Madrid have for their part not had a single representative present at the ‘Golden Ball’ ceremony for the last two years.
After Vinícius Jr. was snubbed for the prize in favour of Rodri back in 2024, Florentino Pérez made the call for the club to cut all ties with the award and its annual gala.
If the latest word stemming from the European media this week is anything to go by, though, then Pérez and co. finally appear ready to put their grievances to one side.
As per a report from French outlet L’Équipe :
> ‘After boycotting the last two Ballon d’Or ceremonies, Real Madrid have decided to attend the one scheduled for Monday, October 26 in London, where several players from the club are expected.’
