As we slowly approach the end of the year, Real Madrid have stepped up their efforts to keep hold of existing stars in the team.

Although Real Madrid’s decision to renew the contract of Vinicius Jr. in the summer appears to have backfired , that hasn’t deterred the club from closing new deals for other players in the team.

It was reported recently that Real Madrid could announced new deals of up to four players before the turn of the year and it seems the first one is just around the corner.

Real Madrid expected to announce Guler renewal

According to Fabrizio Romano , Real Madrid are soon expected to announce the renewal of Arda Guler’s contract.

There is not much to be done, as the club have already done the home work. The player has signed a new deal that will keep him at Santiago Bernabeu for the next five years.

Guler’s existing contract expires in the summer of 2029 but the new deal will see him at the Bernabeu until 2031, so the player has effectively agreed to a two-year contract extension.

The two parties had reached the deal back in September and the deal is now sealed, with Real Madrid expected to announce it in the near future.

A well deserved extension

After joining Real Madrid as a youth prodigy, Guler took some tme to really establish himself as an undisputed starter in the squad.

However, he has performed brilliantly whenever called up on under the leadership of new coach Jose Mourinho this season.

Mourinho has always favoured the combination of Jude Bellingham and Guler in the final third, with the Turk notably racking up three goals and five assists in 11 competitive matches so far this season.

Keeping that in mind, there is no reason why Guler shouldn’t be rewarded with a new contract at Real Madrid, as it will effectively seal his long-term future at the club.

The challenge now for Guler is to further elevate his game and become an absolute superstar for the club.
