Paris Saint-Germain are not planning to sign a new goalkeeper during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to reports from Canal+ .
The first-choice goalkeeper, Matvey Safonov (27), is said to have the backing of the club’s management, who are satisfied with his performances despite criticism of the Russian’s standard.
Having overtaken Lucas Chevalier (24) in the Parisian pecking order, Safonov has played in 39 of the 48 matches contested by Luis Enrique’s side since making his debut against Stade Rennais on 6th December 2025. Having started in each of PSG’s first 12 matches of the 2026-27 season, the Krasnodar-born player has kept just one clean sheet and conceded 16 goals.
Paris, who strengthened the position by signing Alessandro Longoni (18) this summer, therefore have no intention of adding another goalkeeper to their squad, which already has three – or even four if the young Adam Mouak (17) is included, having featured on the Parisian bench during the Champions League matches against Manchester City and FC Barcelona.
