As Real Madrid prepare to host Sevilla FC in La Liga, José Mourinho took advantage of his press conference to discuss the next winter transfer window. And obviously, the Portuguese coach has no intention of asking for reinforcements from his management. Despite a turbulent start to the season, the Special One assures that he is fully satisfied with his group and prefers to focus on the progression of his players rather than on new arrivals. “I’m not asking for recruits; I am satisfied. Players progress, especially if we have time and peace. I have to help them progress; I’m not the type to ask for players,” he explained.

José Mourinho then insisted on his philosophy regarding the management of his squad, favoring a tight group rather than an accumulation of players. “I like the small staff. For one player to arrive, another must leave. If the management considers an option, we will evaluate it, but I do not take the initiative to ask for players. I don’t want any players.” he insisted. A particularly clear message sent to Florentino Pérez and the Madrid leaders a few weeks before the opening of the transfer market.
