Barcelona have suffered a big blow ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico .

Key star Dani Olmo will miss the highly-anticipated encounter with Real Madrid after picking up an injury in Tuesday’s Champions League defeat at Paris Saint-Germain .

The 28-year-old was forced off in the first half of the away game after a collision with an opponent.

In a statement, Barcelona have now confirmed an injury to Olmo’s left adductor muscle, and he would be out for around a month.

The attacking midfielder has made 12 appearances in all competitions this campaign, with five direct goal contributions to his name.

Olmo’s injury leaves the Blaugrana with Fermin Lopez as their only specialist available for the attacking midfield role.

The Spain international is set to miss the Clasico on Sunday, as well as the matches against Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa.

His recovery period is also expected to keep him out of Spain’s coming Nations League fixtures against the Czech Republic and England.

Olmo’s injury is a big blow for Barcelona who face a crucial run of fixtures before the international break.

The La Liga giants are already dealing with the fitness issues of Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen.

Jules Kounde is also sidelined but there is hope he could recover in time to feature on Sunday.
