Real Madrid are reportedly considering bringing Nico Paz back to the club in 2027 by activating an €80 million buy-back clause, according to Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez .
The Argentine attacking midfielder has made significant progress at Como under Cesc Fabregas, strengthening the case for a potential return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid eye Nico Paz return from Como
Real Madrid have begun looking ahead to the 2027/28 campaign, assessing potential reinforcements, particularly in defence and midfield.
The Merengues are also monitoring former academy players who have developed impressively after leaving Madrid.
And Nico Paz is one of the most prominent examples. The Argentine has continued to enhance his reputation at Como, where he has developed under former Barcelona midfielder Fabregas.
His performances have reportedly kept Real Madrid interested in bringing him back, with Ramon Alvarez claiming that the club want to exercise the €80 million buyback option for the Argentine playmaker.
The reported fee would represent a substantial investment in a player the Spanish giants already know from their academy system.
Real Madrid re-signed Nico Paz this past summer only to sell him back to Como as the youngster sought to continue his development at Como rather than returning to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The decision has proved to be the right one as the 22-year-old Argentine playmaker has excelled for Como, managing four goals and five assists in ten games.
As part of the new agreement, the Spanish capital club retained another buyback option worth €80 million for 2027.
Nico Paz faces a potential midfield selection dilemma at Real Madrid
Paz’s progress at Como gives Real Madrid a compelling reason to consider bringing him back, but finding him a regular role could prove complicated.
Real Madrid already have considerable competition in attacking midfield, with Jude Bellingham a leading option in the position. Arda Guler also offers an alternative, creating a potential selection challenge if Paz returns.
The club would therefore need to weigh the Argentine’s growing potential against the demands of building a balanced squad. After all, substantial investment would naturally bring expectations around his playing time and role within the team.
