In the last couple of years, Barcelona have really upped their game when it comes to designing some of best kits in modern football, much thanks to a sustained partnership with Nike.

There is already a lot of hype surrounding Barcelona’s kit for the upcoming El Clasico , which will feature branding of Tyler the Creator .

Barcelona also received a lot of rave reviews for their away kit, inspired by Kobe Bryant’s Mamba brand. Now, the club appear ready to take this relationship a step further.

LA Lakers style jersey for Barcelona

According to popular jersey news outlet FootyHeadlines , Barcelona are preparing an LA Lakers style jersey for the club next season.

The leaked design for the 2027-28 campaign is said to be predominantly yellow with lilac detailing, a colour scheme that is similar to the iconic Lakers shirt Bryant wore throughout his legendary NBA career.

FootyHeadlines were quick to stress that the images doing the rounds are an approximation rather than the finished article.

Even so, they are confident that, based on the patterns and descriptions they have seen, the real thing will be clean and simple in design, closely mirroring the look of the famous basketball franchise.

A collaboration going from strength to strength

The move would mark the latest chapter in a hugely successful tie-up between Barcelona and the Kobe Bryant brand.

That collection has proven a commercial hit ever since its launch. It began with the striking gold shirt, before this season’s version, which started out black and transitioned into lilac, and was later complemented by matching shorts.

A full Lakers-inspired strip feels like the natural next step, and if the leaked design is anything to go by, it should prove just as popular with supporters.

These are still early days, however, and it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming months. FootyHeadlines is likely to come up with more updates after the turn of the year.
