Bayern Munich will have to find a way to cope without Michael Olise for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Arsenal, but assistant coach Aaron Danks is not ready to reveal who will get the opportunity to fill the Frenchman’s shoes.
Speaking about the possibility of Lenn art Karl stepping into the lineup, Danks explained that his primary focus had been preparing the team for the heavyweight European encounter rather than settling on an individual replacement.
> “I haven’t thought much about that at the moment. I was focused on getting the team prepared and ready. We’ll speak with Vincent later. Lenny [Karl] is one of many who could come into the team in these moment s,” Danks said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ).
The 18-year-old Karl is certainly an intriguing option, having demonstrated the kind of attacking quality and confidence that could make him a valuable weapon against Arsenal. However, Bayern have several other possibilities available, and Danks made it clear that the decision will be discussed with head coach Vincent Kompany before the match.
> “At a big club l ike Bayern, we have a fantastic squad, great attacking players. Obviously, we’ll miss Michael, but it’s also an opportunity for someone else to step up and show their character and ability. We’ll see,” Danks added.
Losing Olise is undoubtedly a blow for Bayern. His creativity, dribbling, and ability to pr oduce decisive moments make him one of the team’s most important attacking weapons. Still, this is precisely the kind of situation where squad depth matters. Whether Kompany turns to Karl or another attacking option, Bayern will need someone to seize the opportunity against a formida ble Arsenal side.
The question now is whether Bayern Munich’s next man up can make the most of his chance on Europe’s biggest stage.
