On the eve of the Sevilla reception, José Mourinho left doubts lingering in his thoughts, without masking his annoyance at the tensions surrounding Real Madrid and Javier Tebas. Asked at a press conference about the comments of the president of La Liga, the Portuguese technician preferred not to go into details, while mentioning limits which would have been crossed. “I don’t want to talk about it; there is a limit. This is only excusable in a medical case; otherwise, there is no excuse. I don’t want to get involved in this area. Real Madrid fans understand what they are facing. Given the prestige of the championship abroad and our title as reigning world champions, it is best to keep this confidential and prevent the matter from spreading.”he declared.

These words come in a context of open confrontation between Florentino Pérez and Javier Tebas. The president of La Liga recently denounced Real Madrid's repeated attacks against the authorities and referees, accusing the Merengue leaders of weakening their own championship. On his account Xhe also rejected accusations of passivity in the Negreira affair and criticized the Madrid club for seeking to destabilize the competition rather than contributing to its reform. Without directly naming Tebas in his response, Mourinho therefore chose restraint in public, while suggesting that the situation was serious enough to merit greater discretion.
