A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has early this week been linked with a surprise move to England, with Liverpool.
This comes amid the understanding that the Reds have identified Fermín López as a potential future signing.
Fermín, for his part, is fresh off what has been another superb opening to the campaign in Catalunya’s capital. Favoured to Dani Olmo as Barcelona’s first-choice attacking midfielder, the Spanish international has responded with a string of all-action, quality-filled performances.
All told, across 10 appearances between La Liga and the Champions League, Fermín has racked up eight direct goal contributions.
And such ongoing excellence, it would appear, has not gone at all unnoticed amongst one of the heavyweights of the Premier League…
As per a report from Fichajes , citing Sports Illustrated, Liverpool are ‘closely monitoring’ Fermín’s development at the Spotify Camp Nou. Amid mounting frustration with the performances of Florian Wirtz, Reds boss Andoni Iraola ‘would be delighted’ to join forces with his fellow countryman on Merseyside.
Barcelona, though, would be expected to demand a monumental fee to part with such a key figure in Hansi Flick’s setup.
