Bayern Munich disappointed in their last two games, drawing consecutive games against FC Augsburg and Viking FK. The term “mini crisis” was even making the rounds, even though the Bavarians are yet to taste defeat this season.
After the team’s response against RB Leipzig, it’s safe to say: there is no crisis.
Der Rekordmeister danced around RB Leipzig like a matador waving his cape in front of an outraged bull. Huff, puff, and charge all they wanted, Bayern were in full control from the get go, all the way to the final minute of the game.
As the 6-1 scoreline suggest, Bayern dominated the game — and the statistics confirm that:

Two stats stand out: Bayern’s expected goals and the big chances created.
A 3.69 xG is nothing to sniff at: however, almost doubling it is something else. This could be interpreted as lucky finishing or defensive errors from Leipzig, but anyone who watched the game will know it speaks to Bayern’s finishing. Leipzig shot-stopper Maarten Vandevoort had one of the games of his life. Yet, Bayern still shipped six goals past the Dutch keeper.
Two big chances a game is respectable, three is good, four is elite, eight is…simply unbelievable. When Bayern click into gear like they did against Leipzig, they are devastating.
