We hope that you will enjoy the game and that the teams produce a memorable performance in accordance with the spirit of respect and care. We wish both teams the best of luck. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Steady. Steady. There we go. Enjoy it. Hallelujah. >> [music] >> Please welcome the teams of Columbia and Egypt. >> [music] >> Well, hello and welcome to the Center Sport Dolive. We're on pitch six today in Neon on the shores of Lake Geneva [music] at UEFA HQ for match day three of the UEFA Friendship Cup 2026. the final days action from the group stage of the competition before we go forward to the playoffs. Well, England have topped group A [music] with two wins out of two. It is a fight for second spot between Colombia and Egypt [music] and for a place in the third place match. >> So, the two teams are out. It is time for the national anthems. [music] [music] >> [music] [music] >> Hallelujah. [music] [music] Please remain standing for the national anthem of Columbia. [music] >> [music] >> Great. [music] Hallelujah. [music] >> [music] >> Forever [music] [music] [music] My Lord. [music] [music] So, the fight for second place in the group between Colombia and Egypt. Colombia, who started their campaign with a 3-2 loss against England before beating Korea Republic by two goals to one, turning that one around after they trailed by a goal to nil. Egypt, for their part, won a penalty shootout against Korea before losing to England. Well, Colombia mix it up again. Seven changes in all for them, including Luigi Ortiz coming in in goal. Only Santiago Viasa at right back. Anderson Mario at left back remain in the back four. Gawker Abbascal keeps his place in the center of the midfield. But it's a whole new forward line from last time out with Etchearia, Caisedo and Escortzia all starting. Etchearia, Kaisedo, and Agamez have all got on the score sheet in this competition. Turkis is the referee for this one. Colombia need just a draw. Of course, if it is a draw, it will go to a penalty shootout. But even if Egypt were to win that, Colombia would be better off in terms of goals scored. Well, Egypt don't make quite so many changes, just three and all. Abdul Aziz Mahmood comes in in goal. The back four remains the same. Akmed Bashier comes into the midfield for Egypt while Adam Hass is starting on the left wing. Akmed Safwat is the captain but no place in the starting 11 for Egypt's leading scorer in this competition. Khaled Mocktar who has scored in both matches against Korea and England so far but starts today on the bench. It's air Zaffron who is at center forward for Egypt. So they need to win in the 90 minutes to clamber above Colombia in the table. Colombia on three points as a result of their win against Korea Republic last time out. Egypt have two points as a result of the draw with Korea and then the subsequent penalty shootout win. So they come into this a point behind Colombia. But even if they uh were to draw and win a penalty shootout, they would move level on points with Colombia. But Colombia, as I was saying, have scored more goals than Egypt. So the only way Egypt can get above the South American side is to beat them in 90 minutes. Colombia have been full of goals in this competition. Four goals in their opening two games. Two against England, two against Korea. Colombia lined up and ready to go. Egypt having one more last huddle. >> All eight teams in this competition remember don't just play the three group stage matches. There are playoffs for every position. So even the sides who finish third and fourth will be in action on playoff day in the matches for first, third, fifth and seventh. England will play the final as a result of those victories against both Colombia and Egypt. Their match with Korea Republic is going on at the same time as this one on the stadium pitch. It's a relatively warm day here in Neon. 20° centigrade. Conditions absolutely perfect for the final round of matches from the UEFA Friendship Cup 2026. the third edition of this competition which is all about player development. As a result, every player in every squad must play for at least 90 minutes over the four matches of this competition. So, Egypt kickoff. Both teams in the traditional colors, Egypt, red shirts, black shorts, Colombia in the yellow shirts. That's an early free kick for Egypt. And an early problem as well. Both players are down. >> Another free kick going the way of the Egyptians, but uh a clash of heads. Both players hitting the ground pretty quickly. Daniel Tamer is uh down for Egypt. I think it's Mario for Colombia. >> So early concern for both these young players. >> Both had eyes on the ball. Tamer's back on his feet again, which is good news. Let's hope Maria won't be too far behind him. >> It is going to be a free kick to Egypt. >> Madame Ysef is over it. Well, both players making their way off. >> So, the game will continue with 10 each for the time being. >> Colombia keeping a high line to try and defend this. Yousef will try and hang the ball in there. >> Clipped in by Yousef. Get her away by Moreno. >> It's a Colombian ball. >> Fairly direct in their match against Korea Republic Colombia. They got the ball forward early and made good use of the pace they have in the forward positions. Scorsia, Etcheer and Casedo. the three who came on in the career game up front. Didn't start the game. Made a big big difference. Here's Moreno. Scorzia. Dispossessed by Gamal getting the foot in. >> Scorzia winning the the ball back, but wasn't the best ball forwards. Here's Renteria. Ortiz the goalkeeper. >> Ventier again looking to get the ball out wide. yet to win a game in 90 minutes. Egypt after that dramatic draw with Korea Republic and then beaten by England who've been the strongest team in this group. I think he's winded. The ball driven straight at him. >> Got him right in the the midrift. Curio, but he's back up and on his feet again. Or to Moreno. It's given away to Bashier who sends it forward. The first time shot by Zaffran gathered by Ortiz. Not sure if he is shooting or trying to square it for his teammate that was running onto it. Disappointing end though to a promising position for Egypt. >> Or to Moreno. Little flick on from Kaisedo by Moreno Agamez. That's a Colombia throw. They took a while to get going against Korea Republic Colombia. Didn't play particularly well in the the first half, but managed to grab a goal right at the end of the first half to uh level up and the second half was a different story. >> It's Mario Mour >> Renteria launches it forward. Gamal with the header away. It's over the top of Kaisedo now. Egypt on the counter here. >> Here's Tamer. >> And that's an easy gather for Ortiz. Tamer and Mario both back on and both seem okay none the worse for their clash of heads in the opening minute. >> Renteria put in by Gamal. >> Terrific complex this in a beautiful setting. Geneva just over the trees there. >> Looking for the space to get the cross in. It's a good delivery and the header over the top from Matias Kaisedo. First real opening of the game. And again, it's that direct play of the Colombian wingers that is causing problems for opposing defenders. Etcha Vera with a beautiful ball right onto the head of Matias Kaisedo. And somehow he managed to head it over the top. >> One goal in the tournament so far coming against England in that 3-2 loss on the opening day. >> That was a big big chance there to put Colombia ahead. outside with the throw. >> There's Allah. They'll come out. Dia with the throw. Right back for this one. has played at center back as well. Santiago Vice. Here's Mario. Just tried to clip it in behind for a score here. It was a nice idea, but didn't put the pace on the pass. Here's Tame. >> Touch back by Co to Moreno. Renteria throw for Colombia. >> There were both teams allowed to make nine substitutions in any given match. all helps the coaches get the minutes into the players that they have to find Adala. He's closed down by Agamez and the shot from Kaisedo. He's tipped away by Mahmoo the Egyptian goalkeeper. Really good closing down from Miguel Agamemed. >> Kaiseda getting the shot away and Mahmood equal to it. Two opening chances in this first 10 minutes of the game have both gone the way of Colombia. Kaisedo's headed opportunity though the clearest chance of them all. Oh, again it's a free header and again it's not taken. >> Shot of all that is a throw to Egypt. The referee wanting a word there. It's actually a free kick for Egypt. >> Headed on by Bashier. Hooked away by Mario. >> Now Columbia have had the two big chances, but Egypt have looked a threat on this near side with Tamer and before that Zaffra. Here's Aladed. >> Ran into Mario though. And now can Colombia utilize the space? Here's Escortzia. Well, Alad has vacated. Good runner with the ball, Escortia. But that was a good challenge from Allah. Here's Tame. Yeah, neat football from Egypt, but the ball back to Zaffran wasn't the best. >> Dropping off and involving himself in the buildup play. Amir Zaffan, he's closing down single-handedly as well. Bashier wins it back for Egypt. Now launched by Abdul Aziz Mahmuz. >> Free kick quickly taken. Here's Hay. Should be the goalkeepers. And indeed it is. >> Comfortable claim from Luigi Ort. Moreno Renteria Hava made the run in behind but the delivery was never going to clear Amier Hassan. Gal's throw. >> Maria hooks it away. Got a few bodies forward here. Egypt if they can play it right. Mario though coming across from right back to clear it away. It's a throw for Egypt and that's going to be a goal kick for Colombia. >> Well, they've had the chances in the opening quarter of an hour. Matias Gedo with both of them. He second. And a good save from Mahmood. The first Kisa really should have scored with the header. Renteria now Ortiz out to Moreno. Pascal dropping short. Caro. Now towards Varia >> Jamala now say the the two fullbacks of Egypt will have their work cut out against Etcha Varia and Escortzia the two Colombian wingers. It's going to be an interesting tussle that and potentially a key tussle to the outcome of this game. >> Couo fighting for the ball. Renter heads it away. Egypt having their best spell with the ball in the last couple of moments and now they have a free kick >> and Ida Co gets himself a yellow card. The Colombian captain bit of a tap of the ankle, wasn't it? In full view of the referee who didn't hesitate to produce the first booking of the game. Yousef over the free kick for Egypt. That's not a bad delivery. >> It was either a high boot or an offside in there. It is a a free kick to Colombia. Renteria Moreno escorts. He was terrific in the last 20 minutes or so against Korea Republic Jose Escorsia. >> He really struggled the Korean defenders to get a hold on him late in that game. >> Here's looking for Kaisedo again. Egypt just about managed to scramble it away. >> Deeper delivery this time. Kaisedo beaten to that by Elsad. And that's going to be a free kick. >> Foul by Tamir. Agame's over this. >> Renteria now Moreno Maria again. Little touch off from Abascar. Renteria steps in. Here's Maria. Renter again getting the ball forward early. It's been a feature of Colombia's play in this tournament. Whoever is at center back, Renteria Moreno today, they look to hit those wingers, Etcha Varia and Escortzia. once more. It's only really coming under pressure from Amir Zaffran there. Not really pressing as a unit the Egyptian forward line. Renteria >> touch off from Kaisedo. Here's Curio. Now Mario Colombian ball last touch off Tame Moreno Renteria away from under pressure from his Scorsia. did well to follow it out as well and won the throw off the foot of the winger. >> Well, those two chances aside for Kaisedo, it's been a relatively even start to the contest. >> Renteria Now Moreno >> Maria cut out by Gamal. It's pretty even when the ball goes into the mix in those central areas as to who's going to come out on top. Neither side getting full control of that midfield battle. But then the way Colombia play, it's not the end of the world. They often do bypass their midfield. >> Egyptian throw. can now shifting it on. Egypt have a throw again. >> Kamar looking for options. It's a good run driven across >> and it's not the best clearance >> and they got away with that. Zaffran with the chance on the edge of the penalty area just inside it as Mario who tried to clear it away but he only half hit it and it went straight to the Egyptian center forwards >> who saw his shot blocked away. >> First difficult moment really defensively for Colombia. mostly of their own doing. Had two opportunities to clear their lines and didn't take either. >> Headed down from Gamal. Here's Moreno. Maria >> Moreno more than happy to go back to Ortiz. by Renteria. >> Now Zaffran threatening to get in behind. Support arriving now for the center forward. A little back heel driven right across the face of goal. I wonder how close that was to finding the far corner. Lovely shake to the shot. >> Renteria. There's plenty of space there for him if he wants to bring the ball out further. >> Scorzia. Agamez. Agamez challenging again. That's going to be a free kick for Egypt. Adam Yusf the uh the player down back on his feet again though. Touch on by Kaisedo. >> He's gone for the return and picked it up. Escortia. Touch off again. Plays the one two. Nice turn by Escortzia. I wondered if he was going to take the shot on himself, but he tried to play it through to Agameth who had made the break ahead of him. Here's Zaffran. He's led the line pretty well in the opening 25 minutes. That's not a bad ball in either, just too much on it. And well read by Ortiz getting there ahead of Adam Hay. The throw to Colombia. Now when they get the ball to the feet of Etcher and Escortia and have the Egyptian defenders backing off, they look a real threat. Colombia Rio. >> Colombian throw again. cleared away by Hassan. >> It's a throw for Egypt. Little touch on to Kaisedo. Bashier across though to make the challenge. There was a late challenge though after the ball was released on Abascal. It's a free kick for Colombia. It's been one or two tasty challenges in the opening 26 and a half minutes here that's resulted in a yellow card for Ida Curio so far. Moreno is over this needed instead for Ida Korea the captain. Here's Mario. Good first touch. >> Scorzia trying to get on the end of that. It's a goal kick in the end. Mohamed Alad recovered well actually cuz the first touch of Anderson Mario took him in behind him and it looked as though Egypt might have been in trouble there but well recovered by Muhammad Al. Let's get him out. Yousef came throw that fight for possession in the central areas as well. There was a foul there on Coreo. was two actually. He's having a shirt tug before he was barged to the ground. Renteria. >> Now Moreno taking advantage of that space that's there for the Colombian center backs to bring the ball out. >> Scorzia spotted Etcheer in space on the far side. miscontrolled it though and allowed Mohamed Gamal in to clear the ball away. Launching it long. Bashier rising for the header. That was a push from Mario on Daniel Tame. Yousef. That's a good delivery and cleared away by Moreno. When that ball hit the grass in the penalty area, it was slap of the gods time really who it would fall to. Fortune favored the Colombians who managed to scramble it away. There's Via on by Renteria. Now Caro chests it down. Yousef. Oh, it's a lovely ball by Yousef. Chance here for Egypt, but Ortiz did really well. Danger not over yet though, but it is now. Poor effort from Mohamed Gamal, the left back. What a pass that was. And Ortiz very, very quickly off his line to get there ahead of H. >> And then a really poor effort from Mohamed Kamal. Half an hour gone then. Colombia nil, Egypt nil. >> Things stay as they are and Colombia will finish second in the group. It'll be the small matter of a a penalty shootout at the end if it is a draw, but it won't affect the position of Colombia and Egypt because the the penalty shootout doesn't count in the head-to-head between the teams, only the 90 minutes. And so, as a result, Colombia have scored more goals than Egypt. So, they would finish above them if this does end in a draw and they lost the penalty shootout. >> Here's Moreno. few intricacies of this tournament that makes it just that little bit different >> focus very much on the development of the players. There's Moreno. It's a good idea to introduce the penalty shootout as well. It's such a key part of senior football now at major tournaments. >> Generally to win a major tournament, you probably have to endure at least one penalty shootout. It's not always the case, but quite often >> Hassan. >> Yeah, that's a a blatant nudge in the back from Zaffron. Moreno. >> Good job. He wasn't under pressure there, Ortiz, wasn't it? Completely took his eye off that. Here's Reteria trying to switch up the play, but quite get the accuracy on the pass to Jose Scorsia. Bashier Rabasca over to Etcha Varia. The angle's tight. Fire finds it across. Oh, what a big miss. Well, that's an even bigger miss than Matias Kaisedo's header. Lovely ball to Etcha Varia and then Miguel Agamemed running through the center. >> Oh, he's just got to hit the target and it's one0. Yeah, and he beats the grass in frustration because that is undoubtedly the chance of the first half. They've missed two big ones. Kedo hits the target with his header. He scores. And Agamemed certainly scores if he hits the target there. And that would have been his second of the competition having scored against England. >> Well, will they be left to ru these missed chances Colombia? They could easily be two goals up. >> It's been very even the contest, but in terms of big chances, >> Colombia with two massive ones not taken. >> Kaisedo and Agamemed both guilty. Again, Colombia using the wings well and it was a it's a lovely ball from Etcha Varia. He's laid it on a plate for Agameth. >> Moreno with the free kick. Reneria >> Moreno. Have a scout in by Reteria to Agamemed >> over the top for Zaffran to chase but he had no chance really of getting on the end of And even if he did, he would have had to go alone. He had no support. >> Renteria. Now Moreno Scorsia steps away from Tamir. There's a good challenge from Tam. >> Got a good foot on the ball. >> H Safeta too much on the delivery from Aked Safwa, the Egyptian captain. It's a poor cross from there. He worked the opening well. There's Renteria. >> Gamal with the header away. >> Plenty forward here. Egypt. That's not a bad ball either. Colombia could be in trouble here and it's tucked into the corner and Egypt lead by a goal to nil. Mohamed Kamal the left back with a fine fine finish and we did wonder if Colombia would be left to ru those missed opportunities. Well, they're certainly ruing them now. 8 minutes before Halimeia >> and as against Core Republic Colombia find themselves behind. Good finish. Side footed it past Luigi Ortiz. It was a lovely move from Egypt and a really strong run from left back from Mohamed Gamal. >> And it is Colombia nil. Egypt one. And if it stays like that, >> Egypt will finish second in the group >> and go into the third place match, leaving Colombia to battle for fifth. >> Well, they've made a habit of falling behind in this competition, Colombia. And so it's the case again. Here's Mourio. They've also made a bit of a habit of fighting back. Didn't quite get across the line against England, losing that one 3-2. Turn the game on its head against Korea Republic to win 2-1 after going a goal down. >> Conceded late in the first half against career and got level before the break. Can they do it again? in the Scorsia. Good skill turns away from outside Scorsia and what a block that was from Ado Allah. Terrific piece of defending because Jose Escorts was in. Got the
