Football transfer fees are getting more pricey every single year. But who's the most expensive player at every single age? In today's video, we're going to be finding out. The most expensive 16-year-old in football history is Enrich, who moved to Real Madrid for a fee of 50.8 million. Now, Real Madrid announced the signing of Enrich when the teenager was just 16 years old. However, he didn't officially move to Spain until he turned 18. However, because the deal was agreed when Enrich was 16 years old, we're going to include him for this video. If you don't count the move, because Enrich didn't technically move until he was 18, that would make Pedri the most expensive 16-year-old. The most expensive 17-year-old in football history is Esau Willian with Chelsea purchasing the Brazilian star for 29 million. However, like Endrich, he didn't officially make the move until he turned 18. So, if we're going off those rules and we're not counting Estal's transfer, Jude Bellingham is technically the most expensive 17-year-old when he made the switch from Birmingham to Brushia Dortmund. But in terms of the most expensive 18year-old, there's no debate here. It's Aayou Batti who made the move to Manchester City this summer for a mouthwatering fee of 85.6 million. The Moroccan international has bags of potential and Manchester City were sure to swoop in as soon as they could as they've gone ahead and rebuilt their entire midfield this summer. But Batti especially is the one they've got huge hopes for for the future. The most expensive 19-year-old in football history is Kian Mbappé and he's the most expensive teenager by quite some distance making the move from Monaco to PSG back in 2017 for a record 154 million at the time. And safe to say that Mbappe went on to do quite well for PSG. He became the club's all-time top goalcorer, won countless trophies during his stint there. Although him leaving on a free transfer has got to sting. Albeit PSG have probably become a better team without it. The most expensive 20-year-old in football history is Usuzman Dembele when he made the switch from Berishia Dortmund to Barcelona back in 2017. Back then, the Spanish giants paid an overall package of just over 127 million on who they thought was going to be their next big superstar to replace Neymar. However, while Dembele showed flashes of quality in a Barcelona shirt, he struggled to consistently stay fit. And given the money Barca paid and what they sold him for, this has to go down as a flop transfer. Even more so when you consider the levels that he's recently reached at PSG. Now a Balandor winner, you've just got to wonder, had Barcelona persisted with him for a few more years, he could have turned his career around in Spain. Moises Kaisedo became the most expensive 21-year-old in football history when he made the switch to Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for an overall package of 115 million. The Ecuadorian midfielder had a bit of a slow start at Stamford Bridge, but has definitely proved his worth in recent years. Liverpool's Florian Vertz is the most expensive 22year-old in football history, signing for Liverpool last summer for an overall package of around 116 million. Still a player with bags of potential, but yet to really prove his worth considering the level that he was at with Bale accusing previously and what he's since shown at Liverpool. And sticking with the theme of Liverpool, Bradley Barcola became the most expensive 23-year-old in football history this summer when he made the switch to Anfield signing in an overall package worth 123 million. That figure is including any potential add-ons to come. Bakola really exciting winger coming over from France, but he's got a lot to do to justify that chunky price tag. Arsenal midfielder Declon Rice remains the most expensive 24 year old in football history when he made the switch from West Ham to Arsenal in the summer of 2023 for an overall package of about 105 million. Listen, it's absolutely obscene money that we're speaking about here. But in terms of market value compared to some of the other players we've already had on this list, you've got to say that Arsenal got a pretty good deal there all things considered, especially when we think about the years that Rice has still got left in it. The most expensive 25-year-old in football history is Neymar and he still holds the outright record for the most expensive player in football history. Full stop. His move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 sent shock waves around the footballing world and is probably one of the leading factors in why inflation has got so out of hand in the transfer market in recent years. This deal really set the precedent for that. It was an overall package of around 200 million. Some sources claim it's a little bit less, some a little bit more. It's probably a hard argument to make, therefore, that Neymar justified that fee. Although individually, he was fantastic for PSG. But the club certainly didn't achieve what they set out to do collectively when they spent that much on Neymar. The most expensive 26-year-old was signed this summer. It's Sandro Tali who made the move to Spurs in an overall deal which could rise to 100 million pounds with add-ons included. Obviously a very talented player that's been seen from his time at Newcastle. Whether he justifies that price tag though remains to be seen, perhaps somewhat surprising. But Luis Suarez is still the most expensive 27year-old in football history. Upon making the move to Barcelona in 2014, he moved for a fee in the region of 75 million, which is still a record for his age bracket to this day. Obviously, that was a hell of a lot of money at the time, but he definitely justified that transfer fee, scoring 198 goals for Barcelona during his six seasons with the club. Edin Hazard is the most expensive 28-year-old in football history when he made the move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Safe to say this one didn't go to plan. And this was a prime Edin Hazard when he made the move at the age of 28 when most players are enjoying their prime years. But for whatever reason, things just never clicked for him in the Spanish capital. He struggled to keep fit, couldn't nail down a consistent spot in the starting 11, and only scored seven goals during his four years with the club. With add-ons included, it was an overall package which could have reached 130 million, although many of those add-ons weren't triggered in the end. In total, it cost Real Madrid around 103 million still, which is an absolute disaster of a transfer given his output for that fee. Astonishingly, Zinedine Zidane is still the most expensive 29year-old in football history when he made the move to Real Madrid all the way back in 2001. That was for a then world record fee of about 66 million. And Zidane is still the most expensive 29year-old that's ever moved. He played out the last 5 years of his career in Spain and enjoyed some really successful years with Madrid, but surely that record's got to be broken sometime soon. The most expensive 30-year-old in football history is Harry Kane, who made the switch over to Bayern Munich during the summer of 2023. And it's safe to say this has been a roaring success for both the player and club. As of recording, Kane has scored 150 goals in just 153 appearances for Bayern and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Neymar's move to Al-Hilal makes him the most expensive 31year-old in football history, the second time that Neymar features on this list. However, compared to his move to PSG, it's safe to say that he had considerably less success in Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal paid7.6 million and Neymar only made seven appearances for the club during his two years there. That means in total they paid just over £11 million for each appearance he made for the club. And that's before you take his wages into consideration. And we're sticking in Saudi Arabia for the most expensive 32year-old in football history. That's Riyad Mahrez. His move to Al All Ali cost the Saudi club a fee in the region of30 million. And safe to say he had a lot more success in Saudi Arabia than Neymar did. Cristiano Ronaldo is the most expensive 33year-old in football history when he made the move to Juventus in the summer of 2018. Now, this transfer did cost the Italian club an absolute bomb, a reported fee of around 99 million. However, it's safe to say that Ronaldo did deliver on the pitch, certainly in terms of goals, scoring 101 goals for the club in just 134 appearances. He also won two league titles and three cups, but never got his hands on the Champions League with Juve, which was the big one he was after. It's quite a step down though to the most expensive 34 year old in football history. That's Yan Summer when he joined Bayern Munich for a fee of just 7.7 million. Bayern signed the experienced goalkeeper in the summer of 2022 whilst Manuel Neuer was recovering from a broken leg and he only spent one year with the club before then moving on to Inter Milan. The most expensive 35year-old in football history is Marco Ornalvich who made the permanent switch to Inter Milan during the summer of 2024. He cost the Italian side just shy of 10 million which is still a record for the most that a 35year-old has ever gone for. The most expensive 36-year-old in world football is Cristiano Ronaldo. Once again, when he returned to Old Trafford during the summer of 2021, the Red Devils paid a reported fee of about 12.8 million to get him back. And based on his first season back at the club, he was absolutely worth that, although things quickly went wrong in the second. But that will wrap it up for today's video, guys.
