foreign hello and welcome to 442's World Cup in motion throughout the world cup myself and the rest of the team will be going live pretty much every day to talk through the action the goals the drama and all the biggest talking points from Qatar there were just two days to go into the World Cup kicks off with the host's guitar taking on Ecuador on Sunday before then we want to talk through some of the weird and wonderful things we've noticed this week and to ask you guys your thoughts on things so make sure you comment below and we'll get stuck into some of your questions too now let me introduce everybody first uh catch the deputy editor um tell us what you're wearing we've got some fantastic clobber on the call uh why don't you talk us through that yeah so I've gone for um the bucket hat you can see the good people at uh producer he's coming home I'm just trying to get in the mood because it's tough isn't it um to get into the mood for a winter World Cup so I've gone for that and I've got the ninth 2019 2018 England Anthem jacket it's very nice that's who I'm wearing here excellent stuff uh we'll go to uh I've got to say I'm liking what Conor's got on Connor is our online editor uh what is that beautiful thing you've raped in I'm I'm showing the Belgium away shirt for this world cup um which has got some lovely little kind of a line bits which um slightly pajama-esque but um because it's quite a plain top otherwise but the the little Trims on it are lovely I'm amazed that we've got multiple bucket hats on the school I don't own a single book it happens we're gonna have five bucket hats on this call by the by the third or four they do yeah I'm in shorts don't they go with that the Belgium away swimming shorts um uh an absolute thing of beauty they've got this the lining that you get under the arm here but there's a pair of swimming shorts they're beautiful I'm getting them they get you wearing them by the end of the group stage if if England win the World Cup I will find a beach to go and swim in on the on Christmas day in the Belgium away shorts definitely a promise he said it happened on the um on442.com right now you can see uh a ranking of the World Cup kits um every home and away kit from this world cup so Connor just as a little test do you know where that shirt is on our list I Do by the way so don't worry I'm not gonna leave you hanging but do you know where I think it's good really highly I think it might have been a top five shirt was it Fifth it isn't it isn't I don't know who you've got working for that website but they uh Germany shirt here it's um it's my favorite kit I think of the of the World Cup I think maybe at yours the one you've got on is the only thing that can match it um where's yours from me not not according to the not according to the staff here at 442 your kick came third this in my opinion is the best kit of the entire world cup uh it's South Korea's awake here 15th yeah that's way too low I'm not playing that we did this it's the badge it's got a dreadful Dreadful badge that that I think completely takes it's a beautiful shirt but that that that badges that is pro Evo soccer all over yeah it can't be what I'm hearing honestly and Mark uh another staff writer uh looks like you've got Brazil on oh I've got Brazil um yeah I don't know what it is about this shirt I just I really like it I don't know if it's like the Jaguar pattern on it or the fact that on the collar I don't know if you can see put a cup of tea down it's got um the Brazil flag on the bottom that's a really nice touch yeah um I understand that this isn't going to live long in the memory for for many Brazil fans unless they win the tournament of course but yeah I mean it's now 1970 but I'm liking it it's a beauty there's some good ones and and like I said uh at the start of the at the start of this live uh we have got a full rundown full ranking of all the kids so make sure you go to 442.com and us through it Mark um to begin with I am aware of the irony of me taking the mech out of people's hair but um Harry Kane I've gone with the the David Beckham cornrows uh famously that he he wore in a meeting with Nelson Mandela um and yeah I I personally think this would be a great look for for the England Captain um not sure he'd get on board but yeah I I it sort of Suits him yeah it does it does I think it's the he's he's kind of blonde isn't he so with with Kane though it worked I worry I worry that this is going to be his last major tournament with with proper hair he's just going a bit I'm just worried he's gonna have the Shira Island for the next major tournaments getting a bit thinner Island over that or he'll just go full skinhead but for USA and yeah I can I can see that happening yeah again this is another Beckham Classic this is the the Mohawk um and yeah it really works I don't know it does work because Jack British is the most handsome man in the world but I can't take this head of head of how he's got right now off in there it's too good no that's true yeah he has already got enough I think I think the problem here is you've got you've got to have the right head shape for that for that hack yeah and I think the truth is we we simply don't know what kind of shape Jack reelish's head is because he's got so much um yeah that's true he looks good there but would he pull it off in in real life I'm not so sure it's a very good point speaking of pulling pulling uh haircuts off oh yeah that's brilliant no no no no she was like does he have long hair it's like no no not really but you know if we got Brazil in the quarter final I'd be worried if he's sporting that it was all that he tells fought that Ronaldinho goal is that what you're saying I don't think it helped I don't think so what you're saying is if if Bruno gameras gets uh free kick 40 yards from goal we should just put our put our wall on the line yeah he'll try it yeah I saw a um a website the other day that did it so I'm just going to say I saw a website the other day that did a ranking of the best mustaches in video game history and I thought David Seaman from the late 1990s FIFA games was a notable absence and I thought he really yeah as a mustache man you you repeat that strong opinion on that now yes here's Lino so that is obviously uh Carlos Valderrama who uh Is Still rocking the the blonde perm um he must be in his 50s now surely um I mean that haircut is one of my defining memories of uh France 98 and I was just about to say the same thing yeah yeah yeah for um for Ryan on the Cool Runs uh are you 23 Ryan yeah I was born after that tournament so uh yeah so you have no idea what this is you think this is some kind of a fat butcher thing but yeah do you think Valderrama had that curl or those his natural tight curls uh I think it's a wig head there's no way that's real surely I think he's had a pre-tournament perm maybe and I like you yeah if you look at recent photos of him he's still still got it you know now do we have any more of these monstrosities yeah this is the last one we've got one more yeah these are really set the tone for the for what these Facebook lives and YouTubers don't want to miss any more of these of course if he's got any anything about him Neymar we'll we'll do this for the for the opening game yes this really would break the internet I think yeah it would be incredible if he rocked up for the first game with that on his head it would be amazing he suits it he only did it for a laugh as well didn't he Ronaldo yeah they decked out in there what I can only assume are very expensive m s suits look in the park uh we've got folk with that right can we have a little look look at that and what I like about this is it's it's just here's the guys just casually hanging out at St George's whereas normally it's quite formal they're just you know chilling out on some wooden crates and I'm worried about still photo doesn't it yeah I'm a little worried about um Madison looks a bit actually cool there I think it looked quite awkward all around to be honest I I I'll go against that I think they've they're all and their laughs on and smiling a bit bit too much Corner Cody's going a bit faster yeah he has taken it a bit far yeah I love Ryan Deb's coming out heavily against this particular photo t-shirts I feel like Gareth says he looks garage looks cropped into this because he's on a different level of seat to everyone else and it just kind of puts him on a weird level the bark is wrong Marcus rushed down or do you think he's crouching he's not that sure he's definitely not that sure looks like he's got like a walking cane yeah yeah this is the lighting of it is a bit does Southgate have a cane yeah interesting they're all smiling they're all looking happy and I think the suit I like it and southgate's wearing a different shirt isn't even him and Connor Gallagher have got buttoned up shirt but everyone else has got a t-shirt on oh they've mixed it up what is this yeah I like it Ryan I'm sorry this fun picture and fair enough I am not now also oh uh I was going to say Leslie also there is a speaking of uh Gaz is here in in 96 and all that there is a new Three Lions song um harking back to those days who's heard it what are the reviews what the lyrics yeah I've just watched the video I think it's I think it's very very funny it's uh you've got to take it with a pinch of salt have a listen the lyrics they don't exactly scan the updated lyrics but this it's a great tribute to the lionesses great tribute to the original video from 1996. and you know it's a deal in Skinner so it's always going to be funny and and uh I think they've done a good job I enjoy it uh yeah 20 was it 20 weeks of hurt never stop the streaming with reference to the lionesses uh recently yes that's good I don't want to spoil it have a listen it's and watch the video the video is very funny I think I think they've done a good job good use of CGI I'm glad they've done that with the with the line assisting because although the lionesses obviously deserve a place in the great song I did think well they're gonna ruin it because they've just won something that song's about sort of being crap and they're not so I didn't know how they were going to do that but that is quite a funny line I like that yeah I completely agree with you at it the song is totally about faith Beyond Reason isn't it um and so the idea that well we won something like less than six months ago yeah does does slightly ruin the concept so the idea that you just kind of reappropriate that and treat it as though it was a long time ago I think um uh definitely makes a lot of sense for a comedian aspect it's nice as well because they sang Three Lions in the press conference when they were yeah yeah the video isn't it yeah so yeah it's nice to nice to have that little reference in there as well well speaking of the lionesses winning we've had a comment from at um who's asked will England win and if not who uh Ryan why don't you answer at for us will England win definitely not um I just I just can't see it um I don't think they're playing that well particularly I think there are better teams at the tournament um do you want to get me to give my prediction on who will win yeah mate you've got to chance your arm have you seen it not England A.T wants to know who I think quite controversially I think Germany will win it the team I've got on on my show um I think I just look at that Midfield and I just love it missiala bind again I just think though completely dominate teams um they've got Havoc who I'm not particularly a fan of but um I just think that'll they'll somehow find a way I like flick as a coach so yeah they're my pick uh Ed you you are you live in Germany I live in Germany you're recording from Berlin what's the vibe about like out there the minute are they excite for the World Cup I know everyone seems to love fancy flick oh man on the ground yeah indeed uh the Germans are very excited of course um there's there's obviously a feeling of of redemption required uh considering how awful they were in 2018 didn't even make it out of the groups um and most German fans do share Ryan's uh points there they do think the Midfield is really good obviously the excitement of the young Jamal musiala and they are slightly worried about sent it forward as well you know they they used to have these you know classic sent forwards and you know the lights of Rudy Fuller and Mira slab closer and Mario Gomez and um you know they've often relied a lot on a big man up top scoring goals and habits isn't really that sort of player um but they there is a bit of excitement about Nicholas fulklook uh Vera Bremen Striker who basically was never capped before his right ripe old age of 30 and he is a proper classic Target man and there's a good chance he'll actually play he scored on his debut for Germany um and he's obviously bang up for it it's a bit like when uh Ricky Lambert got a cap for England and everyone was willing him to score um it seems like they've found the missing piece maybe so there's a chance that habits isn't the main man and that they'll go with it but there's definitely a feeling that they need to do something after last time sorry Ed and Mario Gertz is back in the squad as well isn't he marrow Gertz is back yeah um so will he play much of a role because obviously he's good you know he's scored the winning goal in 2014. um I was you know a huge fan of him at the time and it was great and then his career really tailed off for a few years hasn't been in the setup I was I was really excited to see him back end because it made me well it made me feel young again but is there any chance that he'll he'll play and have an impact well it is a really lovely story because uh you know unlike some footballers sort of going off the boil or getting too much too soon and losing their focus his decline was very much to do with it you know health reasons um he had some metabolic issue and he couldn't keep weight off and things like that so it's actually like really nice you know speaking of Germany trying to you know get Redemption there's a chance that he can come back and play a role I don't think he's going to play from the start um but he might come on in in games when things are tight and they need to go because he sort of rediscovered that sort of creative spark that he'd seems to have lost um at Frankfurt this season and and while online at PSV uh sorry while at PSV before so it is a really nice story I don't think he's going to play a big role but it's great to have him back definitely and um just just a comment from from one of the viewers uh full crew he's 29 until he's 30. so just just get that right with you I'd like to apologize to to static for that mistake um by the way all anyone commenting please come down on us like a ton of bricks for things like that um just completely just I think some of my family are watching oh yeah okay The Fountains up yeah oh that could be to me to be fair it could be like it should be a 95 era uh goalie top but um yeah Adidas have made some retro shares but I don't think the keepers are going to wear them in Qatar which is a real nice opportunity yeah I think so I love them honestly now with predictions in mind uh Lads we are going to do a classic Brendan Rogers style envelope guessing game um so we're going to make some predictions pop them in an envelope and then we're gonna reveal just how wrong probably nearly all of us works for the final so I'm ready to write down on a piece of paper top scorer how far England will get and who your dark horse is profit in an envelope top scorer I've already written main yeah go four land's not there is he yeah he's not there is he yeah mine are here as well Connor can I just see you seal your envelope funny business I I couldn't I couldn't um find an envelope so I'm just going to fold it and now no one no one can annoyed that that's obviously folded okay there we go we'll open those on the eve of the predictions I want to talk about the first game this weekend um the opener Qatar against Ecuador wasn't initially scheduled to be the opener but FIFA found the way God bless him FIFA found a way um let's hear all of our predictions for the opening game uh start with you catch what do you reckon is going to happen archetalk gonna surprise a few people or Edward all going to crush their Spirit straight off the bat the beauty of the of a World Cup is I have no idea you know I don't know any of the guitar players or the Ecuador players or any anything can happen it's like I could I could go on 442.com and have a read of the extensive Squad page for each but I'm actually not going in for this game because I wanted to be like Christmas day where you haven't tricky presents I wanna I wanna I wanna be surprised I want you know maybe Qatar or run over Ecuador vice versa you know we we've got no idea and I think that's part of the fun of the World Cup so I'm gonna go five nil Ecuador because who knows what can happen Ryan what are you saying well there was that story uh that came out overnight that uh Qatar have played paid Ecuador plays to go in at halftime won no doubt um so if that's true I'll go to one Ecuador because former West Ham Striker Anna Valencia that's one player playing for Ecuador I think we should make clear that uh those are unfounded allegations there's that story um I'll go 2-1 Anna Valencia two goals a four more stamp Striker uh Connor what are you saying well as you know I'm a big fan of both Qatari and Ecuado
