What's happening guys? Welcome to the Football Hub. We are back after Manchester United have lost 1 nil at home to Manchester City in one of the country's biggest derbies. We'll get on to that in a minute. I'm joined by Connor Kia and Nahian. We're live on YouTube. We're live on Player and we're live on Tik Tok. Let us know what you made of the Manchester derby. Obviously Erin Harland's goal. Was it offside? Should it have counted? Should it not? Phil Foden's red card. Was it a red card? What did you think? Did you see the Bruno Fernandez kick out before? Let us know what you thought of all of that. Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you as well after you were like mildly inconvenienced by the Tigers rather [laughter] than mauled finishing 22. Great result for Hall. We usually get a lot of Hall in these comments. So, yeah, at the moment, >> mate, that's it. Yeah, could be in Europe. You never know. Villa fans as well, not the best start to the season for you. Uh >> some drama with Villa fans, but [laughter] we love we we want you involved. We want to know your take on >> everyone involved. >> Everyone involved. >> Everyone involved. [laughter] Guys, let's start on Manchester United then. >> No, please don't. >> Sorry, Kia. >> Please don't. Do we have to? >> Yeah. Well, yeah. >> What do you make of the performance overall? It's finished 1 nil. You know, it could have very easily been nil nil. >> Yeah. I'm just so disappointed rather than angry. Like, I really am. It looked like we had 10 men rather than City. Um, and yeah, I just I just can't believe that's how the game went. Not how I expected. I was so confident going into it. I thought, listen, City at home. Carrick's beat him two-0il before we can do it again and yeah just so so far off it like we just didn't look like we were ever going to score and I just yeah I mean credit to City down to 10 men and they did not >> stop they kept on attacking they kept on going but >> I just didn't think I don't think City looked like they were down to 10 men I don't think Manchester United looked like the better team I know they have better quality players but when United have gone down to 10 men >> across the board 11 in comparison to United >> oh come on give Come on. Yeah, I know. Midfield, Bruno Fernandez gets in, but the back line, City's all day, every day. The midfield, I'd still have Ellie Anderson. I'd have Cherokee, whoever you want to throw in. Okay, probably potentially Kobe Mayu. But then the front three, Harland just carries itself really. And of course, he scores the winner for the goal. But yeah, I think City's quality on and off the pitch as well on the bench too, just override United. When United have gone with 11 men for majority of the game, they didn't seem like they were creating anything and Bruno was trying, but I don't think >> he really is a big game play. He doesn't really turn up. And that was his moment to shine there against City. Got you're at home, >> doesn't take the re [laughter] I don't really think he does as much as he should do with the quality as he is. phenomenal player, but he's the type of player where you should be relying in these big games to take about the scruff of the neck and go win you that game, but he wasn't really creating anything. And yeah, United just look us. I know there's a comment saying United look like they were playing with like 20 kgs on the legs, but [laughter] that that probably does didn't help that they played on Thursday. City played earlier on in the week. So yeah, United look a bit leggy. >> Oh, you [clears throat] can't say [laughter] you've been asking the Champions League. I'm not playing. No, no, no. They aren't used to playing every 3 days and Thursday, Sunday is a harder schedule than Tuesday, Wednesday. >> But then this is when you look back at their transfer window. >> Yeah, they should have done a lot more. You should have done a lot more business. >> Exactly. Where's our defenders? >> They bolstered the midfield and stuff, but the midfield wasn't really great either. Tielemans didn't contribute to anything. Mayu, he had a nice attempt on goal, but that was a backpart from it really. Like feel like a Derby day, did it? Like flat. And I think I read Gersian Schmidt in the Tik Tok chat. He said Bruno Fernandez small game player but laughing emojis. He's >> no one's having no big game. >> He carried us last season. >> Yeah, he he Yeah, he carried Well, >> he's not a big game player. >> He's not in my opinion. He's not in my opinion. He honestly isn't. He doesn't really turn up in the big moments. >> Guys, call him out in the comments, please. [laughter] Because >> there's one there's one big memory. There's one big memory that I have was United 7 when we Liverpool beat United [laughter] and he was there. He was there shrugging his shoulders. He was kicking out at people. He looked at Roman Empire. >> He [laughter] looked he looked at the bench to get subbed off. I'm like that's not a big game captain player. You're looking at the bench and >> you be I would be the same if I lost seven. >> If you're the captain regardless of you're getting beaten 71 regardless the score line, you should be there to try and pick up your teammates. And I don't think you can. And I think certain pundits on different broadcasters will agree with me. [laughter] >> Right. Well, if if you agree with Nah here, let us know in the comments. >> Please agree with me. >> Yeah. Is Bruno Fernandez a big game player? Yes [laughter] or no? I mean, I don't think many people will agree with you. But let's let's go on to the more nuance of the game. So, the offside, >> we were so confused watching that. We didn't get that at all. It's been given. It's the ruling that they put out. They decided to say that it basically Enzo Fernandez hadn't affected a play. The more I read, the more I got confused. >> Yeah. No, same. >> I think it was a game completely ruined by the officials to be completely honest. And that's happening way too often in the Premier League right now. I think they got the Fod and red wrong and then they've almost like overcorrected the rest of the game and not really given United anything for the rest of the game cuz they knew they'd messed up quite badly with the Foden decision. And the offside, I don't get how you can possibly say Enzo doesn't make an attempt to play the ball. He throws himself at it. Landro Manz is clearly affected by that because he thinks, "Oh, he might get the ball." Harland's free at the back post because of it and Harland scores. So, it's offside. But having said that, Man City should have 11 players and if Man City had 11 players, they would have battered United. So, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. >> Yeah. See, my thing is was I'm trying to understand it from the other side of the is Landre Martinez like you can't say he's not going to mark Enzo there in that. No, no, no, but that's what I mean. I don't think Harland's free at the back post. No, but then even even with that though when the ball goes in from Gavardial, >> Enzo and Harland are in an offside position from what I saw and we all saw and then even if Enzo had a touch on the ball, >> Harland's offside. So I don't understand where they've got the decision from is it cuz it's deflected off Doo's foot that assuming that that's a new phase of play. But then what can dog really do? He needs to go in and try and defend that cross and Martinez. You can't not defend Enzo. Yeah. Because if Enzo has a attempt at goal and it goes in, then we're all blaming Martinez. So what what are you doing there? You need to you need to cover your man. So I I I just don't think where they've really got the decision from. And I'll watch we'll all watch count replays and still be confused until they come out and actually >> tell us what it is >> in black and white actually off wearing offside. >> The one that didn't need a V >> intervention was Phil Fodden's red card. So, he made the decision on the pitch that wasn't overturn. >> Yeah, but that's a horrendous decision. >> Well, Omar Omar really in the chat, he said that the red card was a disgrace. >> Yeah, I think it was a disgrace. You I It's First of all, it's a Manchester derby. [laughter] It's It's emphasis on derby. >> Yeah. Have a couple little kicks at each other. What makes the game good? Bruno Fernandez obviously cares highly. Foden is a local lad. Cares a lot. They've had a little kick out at each other. Cool. Play on. No one got hurt. But you decide to then pretty much try and ruin the entire game. And it did work cuz the game after that was awful. And >> this decision was baffling. Bruno kicks him first on the ground. He kicks him and then Foden kicks him back. I would actually argue Bruno's kick was more of a kick than Foden's. Foden was more of like a get off me and Bruno's was just a boot. Neither of them are [laughter] red cards in my opinion. Just give us a red. If you want to give reds, you got to give them both a red. It made absolutely no sense. And then you've gone to V and you've decided, yeah, that Foden kicks a red, but that Bruno kick isn't. I don't understand it at all. It makes no sense. We were talking offer that we would have understood if Oliver gave a yellow and then went to the monitor just to check it for a bit more clarity. Let you have the eyes cuz you are the referee in the match. Don't let VA make that such a big call so early on in the game. Just give a yellow and go check it. That's what it's there for to give you a bit of support. And they're not really utilizing that support to the best of their advantage. But here wouldn't care anyway with I know I do agree it was a disgrace but listen we'll take it. I thought that was I mean I celebrated that like it was [laughter] a goal. I was up and I was just going yes like send him off get him off and then >> we look like we lost a player so I really it really didn't change much but yeah >> Gersian in the chat he's one who doesn't like your Fernandez state [laughter] >> red card was a bad decision things like that will happen in a derby should have should have been a red either way but things like that will happen in a >> I would just like I would love to see the footy again where they just let it go a bit and they kick each other a little bit more there's a bit of edge and then the crowd are into it and you have a better game >> it's an interesting one for you as a cod I don't want to delve into Coventry in the Championship. >> Neither do I. [laughter] >> As a as a championship fan, you didn't have V last season. You've now come up and you're watching V in your games. What What is the difference? Is it frustrating as a fan? Does it annoy you? >> My big thing with V is it stops goal celebrations, but we've not scored. [laughter] I've not got anything to at the minute. V I think it did We'll get on to it. I think it did ruin our game a little bit today, but we'll get on to that later. >> [laughter] >> I I would I would always just be an advocate of no VR regardless of what's going >> to play the I'm actually a fan of V, but it's just not implemented correctly. The techn is perfect, but like do it where it's a cricket system >> where you have like two reviews. Let the referee referee the game. But if you as a manager think that's the wrong decision, you get an appeal and then if that's wrong, then you only have one left. Cricket implements it perfectly. That's why they kind of need to one day, but they need I really hope they do. That's what they they tried to do it in the championship [clears throat] was the challenge. They tried to do a stripped down version of V bring it in, but the clubs didn't vote for it. So, >> yeah. Yeah. Well, >> there you go. >> Yeah. See, the clubs I swear there was like a few years ago where they were >> they were voted for V, but they all like to complain about it. So, make your mind up. Do you like it or you don't? >> Yeah. >> Let's talk about Michael Carrick and the game plan today. A lot in the chat there about there's decisions about Rashford. A lot of people saying he shouldn't have started. Then we've got Big Show. He's saying Michael Carrick must be sat today. >> It feels a bit harsh. >> Do Do we think Michael Carrick has got the best out of this Manchester United squad in the first five games of the season? Is it? >> Um looking at the first five games, four games, sorry. >> No, I don't think he has got the best out of But yeah, some of the decisions he does, I do think oh like it's not what I would have gone for like you know not starting Cesco in this game. I thought he would have been our player today. I mean Kuna up front I don't I don't think it really works. Um, but listen, I'm not the manager. [laughter] We'll let him go with it. And it clearly hasn't worked. So, but Rashford starting, I I was open to Rashford starting. I really thought it's a derby. Look, local lad. He's going to come up. He's going to score. I thought, yeah, I mean, I'm not against the Rashford decision, but I think in terms of Carrick, do I think we should get him sacked right now? No. >> But I do worry that what you said a few weeks ago that you thought he was going to be Yeah, [laughter] >> it might be. Well, I don't know about first. It could be one of the on [laughter] either one of us, mate. >> So, point blank, is Michael Carrick getting the best out of this Manchester United squad right now? >> No. >> But I don't think he has been helped by the board either. They probably wanted a few more signings at the back especially. >> But look, I think they whatever you whatever tools you're given, you kind of have to make do with it regardless of >> the type of manager you are or coach. you just need to coach the players that are at your disposal. Um, similar to other teams up and down the league, but yeah, I don't think he is getting the best out of these players, but he hasn't been helped also by by the board with Yeah, United fans have also been a bit touchy with them, too. So, yes, not looking good on and off the pitch for them. >> Well, let us know in the comments, guys. Do you think Michael Carrick is doing the best job possible at Manchester United? Do you think he will be the first manager to go as well? Let us know on TikTok. Let us know on YouTube. We'll try and respond to your comments. Manchester City, quick word on them because that's a really good result for them. That's that's a solid win. I feel like they've got a bit of grit there. That's a proper Moresca. You'd love that. Like >> like first game they won last minute against Bournemouth for now going down to 10 men getting three points away at your local rivals. Just shows like the squad now and the play is probably >> Yeah, probably now having a kin towards Mesa. sure the final uh fulltime scenes where he's going up towards the away fans as well to show a bit of passion and I think the away supporters will absolutely love that as well to kind of build a bit of a bit of a relationship with Moresco obviously now since Pep's gone um of course it would be a natural decline but yeah hopefully it's puts them in good >> stuff still I've got to read one out and I've got to go back to United quickly because Edd's just put something in the chat he's just put Manchester United football club lacks ambition as a whole cancel that all or nothing deal ready for [laughter] the first episode is all locked in for the whole for the whole game. >> Four episodes are going [laughter] to stink. Sorry. Sorry. >> You know what? You know, you know what though? If Inmo scores that chance last last minute, it's a different conversation. >> A great >> Yeah. Um but yeah. Yeah, that that documentary or whatever they're putting together for Amazon. >> So the second of when we get into, you know, Christmas time, we start [laughter] switching it around. It would be like >> second of the season, go for the title. [laughter] Go for the title. >> K's going to be on security just like lead leading out the cameraman. She's like, "Get out. [laughter] Get out. I want the [clears throat] Pay him. Rack cliff. Pay him. >> Get him out. Get him out." Right. Let's move on to the other game today. Uh [laughter] >> Connor, >> please will you show camera 4 your lovely hoodie? >> Look, listen. >> Brilliant. >> I want to This says we are back. This was when we got promoted. It had nothing to do with today. It's unfortunate [laughter] that I'm wearing it today, don't get me wrong, but um yeah, that's all I really have to say about Commentary today. >> So, Coventry City nil, Brighton and Hov Albian five. Your thoughts and feelings? >> Yeah. Uh today is uh [laughter] it's a sad one. It's a depressing one. It's uh it it was an awful watch from start to finish. I think >> feel like we need to get the violence out. >> Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Like as a football fan when you watch a game like that you just an overwhelming sense of sadness like full time because today it just felt today it did feel like yeah we don't have enough and it's the first I've been delusional as a co fan you know going through the summer when we lost the hall saying you know we played really well at the aad last week and even in the first half I know it sounds crazy cuz we lost 5-0 in the first half today we played well we we had the better chances they've scored an absolutely brilliant goal that will happen we've gone in at halftime 1 nil down. I'm thinking get a goal early. It can turn this around. They score and we get a red card instantly. A one year. I I people are saying it was a clear red card. I don't think so. I think if that hadn't been given >> I think I think if that weren't given us a red [laughter] card, nobody would have mentioned it again. But um and then we fell apart. Louis Lewis Dunk turns into P Junior [laughter] because of course he does. And yeah, it's not looking good. >> Knuckle ball by Louis. Do do you think it's more disappointing because you went away to the Etiad and had a bit of values and performed well and then yeah Brighton's a different game stylistically but >> although you lost against City probably positives you can take from that and kick on and try and get some points on the board. >> Yeah, after last week I walked out the stadium with quite a big sense of optimism. I came on here the next day and said you know what that was I was proud of that performance. Today there was nothing to be proud of. is a shame because we put the same lineup out, same formation that we'd switched for the Man City game and I was really starting to believe and um there we at the end of the day we can't put the ball in the back of the net. I don't know why. We scored 96 goals last season, the exact same players, but we can't put the ball in the back of the net and we make too many mistakes defensively and I'm starting to see no light at the end of the tunnel and I'm sad now. It's early days, but do you think the Derby County rack [laughter] will be beaten or whatever you however you want to word it by Coventry? >> If we get less than 11 points, I will never post a video on [laughter] any social media ever again. Honestly, like there's no chance that that happen. >> And just still think [laughter] it still the man. Do you really think so? Because I we I've said on the show like if you can really perform with Everton and Chelsea with better caliber players and there is a certain limit for players but also for managers as well you just reach your potential and the championship probably is his potential and that's no dig towards Lampard Championship's fantastic league to get up to but >> there's a certain stage where you just hit your limit and that's probably it. I'm not I've not given up hope on staying up this season of I mean I keep saying of course I'm not but it's getting it's sounding to get a bit delusional at this point but I've not given up hoping of staying up this season. My point is if we do go down whi
