What's happening guys? Welcome back to the Football Hub where Manchester United have drawn 1-1 away at Fulham. Joined by Connor, Kia, and Nahean. How are we guys after that? Are we awake? >> Yeah, we are. >> [laughter] >> It's just the last 10 minutes or so where it took to keep us awake, but yeah, that was a pretty poor display from both sides, to be honest. >> For the atmosphere at Craven Cottage was poor. I know they've been awful like all season, but rough rough to keep along with that. >> Yeah, Fulham fans for you. No, I'm joking. I'm joking. You said that not us. >> It was It was just not the best game of football and I to be honest, I think a point was probably fair. We'll get into it, but I think >> Yeah. >> Yeah, to be to be fair, the first half had like 26 shots or something, I remember, which didn't feel like it at the time. >> hit the post. >> Yeah, and then Leno made a lot of good saves as well. I thought he was man of the match until obviously let the goal go in, but yeah, second It wasn't really much to like sing and dance about really from a neutral and then obviously from fans from both sides to really like see anything to get excited about really. Um it was a real poor for half hour o'clock Super Sunday I must say. >> Yeah, it's not very Super Sunday. Guys, we're live on TikTok, we're live on YouTube, so let us know in the comments, get involved. What did you make of the game? What did you make of your team over the weekend, too? We'll get into all of it. Kia, let's start with you. How do you feel as a Manchester United fan right now? >> Um deflated, I think. That's the best word. >> doing these shows, isn't it? >> Every [laughter] It's like torture doing this, seriously. No, but I do feel I feel like deflated is the best word to say because honestly, that game just so boring. Like we were all falling asleep here, genuinely. Like it lacked energy. Again, like it's Fulham. We're playing Fulham. You'd expect Sorry, no no hate to Fulham right now, but I mean kind of a little bit, but we should have been going into that game easily, comfortably getting the three points there, and I just knew from the before the game even started it probably won't go our way, and it went exactly like that. >> Well, it's been a rough week. You've pecked by the seagulls >> Okay. >> [laughter] >> It's a It's You're out of the League Cup. You've had, you know, dog walked by Brighton. And then now it's not the best performance. You come away with a point. But for Manchester United the start of the season you had such high hopes. Where are you at now realistically and where Manchester United and what they should challenge for this season? >> It definitely feels like our season's kind of written off. I know it is kind of still early. I don't know but like that's literally the energy it's giving. Yeah. Like I don't I mean I had such high hopes. I said we complete We finished third last season. I thought yeah we could even like possible Oh well maybe not challenge but like we would be we would be up there. I thought we would win the league >> [laughter] >> TO BE HONEST. NO BUT YEAH WHAT IT SAYS FOR OUR SEASON NOW I think we really need to look back at what our expectations are and if we can, you know, make it top 10 after the Christmas break then I'll be happy. >> [laughter] >> But yeah. >> Are you Michael Carrick in? >> At this stage I'm still in but I'm not seeing much of the old Carrick. Like I don't know what's going on. I think again his his like choices I'm not really understanding. I don't know why we look so like we don't we don't really like look like we're playing with effort or I don't know what's going on. It's really weird. >> certain ones and signings were already there when Ten Hag did that interview saying that they've not done much work in terms of like fitness levels, running and stuff. They just did a lot of ball work and technical ability. And I think that performance today showed a little bit where a lot of time when they should have pressed the players are just walking and strolling about. And for a Man United side you can't really expect they always want effort 100% always on your toes ready to pounce on the ball. And those signs are probably showing where they are showing that big legginess as well playing midweek being defeated by Brighton. But yeah when as a United fan you expect fast flowing football all the time whether you're on and off the ball. And yeah, when you see him players walking around, it doesn't showcase what United have built their like DNA about. We always hear about United DNA and what it stands for, but >> basics, isn't it? It's just the basics. It's >> Like regardless of how you feel as a player, you should always give effort. And I think that's lacking right now with United, especially. >> Fulham, is that a good point for them or given how the game went? They obviously needed three points from that, ideally going into the international break. And they played really well. They created a fair few chances in that. But where are they at now on your assessment? Cuz I think all of us had them around about the relegation zone and in a relegation battle when we started the season, but that a positive performance to go into a three-week break is not bad. >> Yeah, but in my opinion, that's two points dropped. I do think that the longer you go on without your first win of the season, the more it can get to you, get to your fan base and everything. And they would have been absolutely buzzing going into the a three-week break having their first win of the season against Manchester United. And to have it all just kind of taken away for quite a soft goal right at the end. And now all of a sudden you're going into the international break 19th instead of just outside the relegation zone. You're going into the international break still not having won a game. Fans can get on the back quite quickly. It changes quite a lot. And split second like that. I just think Fulham I I don't know what it is about Fulham. They've started the season poor, but they have looked okay in some games. I think they probably could have beaten Liverpool last week. Today they could have beaten Man United, but could have isn't going to just keep you in the Premier League. >> like catfish a bit, aren't they? >> Yeah. >> They look great, but are they actually that good? >> I don't know. It's like against Chelsea, they were scoring goals and stuff. It's just at the back they couldn't really defend as like but the past two weeks, they've been decently defensively. Obviously they got a clean sheet away at Anfield. And today it's just unfortunate where the goal goes in through a huge deflection. But it's like they can only do one or the other at once. It's like trying to find the middle ground of like playing that expansive football. >> My thing with Fulham, sorry, is like I don't think a team's kind of got out of second gear playing them. Chelsea is the first first game of the season for like they didn't actually get out of second gear. They did enough to win the game. Sunderland didn't really even get out of first gear. They still won the game. Liverpool, I know they drew but that was a poor they drew cuz Liverpool were poor. Liverpool played 50% they would have won the game. United today definitely didn't get out of second gear. I don't think there's been a game yet where you can look at it and think even Palace like Palace didn't play very well and they beat them in their own backyard. So I think Fulham, I think the signs that I that few of us predicted at the start of the season of them struggling I still I still think they're there. I don't know. I'm not I wouldn't be convinced if I was a Fulham fan. I'd be quite worried if I was a Fulham fan to be honest. >> I want to extend the question I asked here to the rest of the group and let us know in the comments as well. Uh Michael Carrick in or Michael Carrick out are we after five games? It feels harsh but he's obviously had the back end of last season too. Let's go around the panel. Connor you first. >> He's got to go or not? >> He's got to go. And the problem is United could get Pep in and they'd still have Luke Shaw left but it really doesn't [laughter] even matter but I can't lie Carrick's not that guy. >> You just want him to go cuz of your prediction [laughter] isn't it? >> Yeah he's got to go. He's got to go. He's got to go. He's got to go. He's got to go. >> As much as I'd love him to stay since United aren't really performing well, I do think they probably do need to look elsewhere. Um and I think it probably is easy enough to do so given the fact that he's not a high profile manager and the fans were on board of signing Carrick and letting him have an extension and stuff and then the board can really like make him move and potentially get rid of him and go like well we listened to you guys and that's what you wanted so now we're bringing in some someone who we feel is good enough to be a Man United manager. So I think the board themselves are in a decent enough position in order to make a decision but yeah I wouldn't stick with him if I was United at this point in time. >> I don't know. When are we going to start blaming the players though? Like I just think we're just getting new managers in and out like I don't know if that's actually a permanent solution but I mean with the form it does look like it's going that way. >> Well, I had to do is take care, but let's move on to the other side of Manchester. You kept their 100% record >> [laughter] >> intact in the Premier League. What a game at the Etihad by the way, 5-3 over Sunderland. A weird one with Brian Brobbey getting a hat-trick as well. >> Yeah, and on the other >> on the losing side. >> It's a great result for Manchester City and they are well, going into the international break top of the table, 100%. Are we calling them title contenders or >> Yeah, I think regardless of the situation of Pep going and then bringing in Enzo Maresca, I think the players itself they just stuck they have too much quality in in order not to be in the title race regardless of who the manager is. And I think we saw it with Liverpool after Klopp left. Ancelotti won the league in the first season cuz the imprints were still there from Jürgen Klopp and the style of play and the player personnels as well helped. And obviously with City you've got Erling Haaland up front where he doesn't even this game he scored one, but you've got other players like Semenyo contributing and even Gayhe at the back scores goals too. >> Semenyo needed to get some goals and assists and today he for sure yeah, he stepped up as well. So I think regardless of who the manager is on paper, of course Enzo Maresca is a great manager, but the players itself can do the job because they just got so much quality up and down the pitch that they will always be in the title race regardless of who the manager is. >> Mhm. What was I going to say? >> Yeah, I think I agree with Nahean there. I do think they're still in it and even though like Arsenal do look like they're pulling away, I think like we said it's still early days and City do have a great team there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, City's defense is the thing that was impressing me and then today when they concede three, I wasn't too sure on their attack, but then they've just proved it that they are still that team. I did I actually thought they were going to struggle a little bit this season, but so far they haven't showed any signs of that. And I think a lot of that is down to actually some of their new signings and Anderson and that. So fair play to Man City. I I was completely wrong about them to be honest. >> You know who I am I'm with those even though they lost Sunderland as well after playing on Thursday and getting their getting their win in Europa League but then going away to the Etihad which is obviously so tough but being able to score three goals. I know the ship fine but being able to score three and Brian Brobbey getting a hat-trick as well shows that they can probably play Thursday Sunday in those tough situations and compete and also to stay in the league but also progress in the Europa League. So yeah, kudos to them. >> Yeah, I think Roosh made a good point in the chat. She said it isn't Pep's team. So many senior players have left and Enzo has very much created his own team now. Which is valid, isn't it? And to do that that quickly and to get your fingerprints on a team that quickly is is impressive and you have to give him credit for that because I did actually think that it was wasn't the right managerial appointment. Don't get me wrong, it's still such early days so we don't know how it's going to pan out but at the minute you can only go by what you've seen so far and Enzo Maresca has been really really beat United with 10 men, Sunderland against us they were poor still got the win so >> You got to give it to them. They're getting over the line, yeah, they are. >> Yeah, yeah, they're just getting over the line. That's all you really have to do. That's what Arsenal did last season. >> Few more in the chat on Manchester United. David Brazer says, "Man, you need to sell the club." >> [laughter] >> And we've got Eamon who said, "Why was Carrick playing Rashford for 70 minutes?" >> Do you think that's fair? >> Is the experiment on United's forward line just an annoying headache now? >> It really is. I feel I've seen a lot of people already starting to blame Rashford for how for our form currently and I don't think that's necessarily fair. Um I feel like Rashford he's not really coming and like had that end product. I mean he's not scored or assisted yet which I'm quite surprised at. Um yeah, but to blame him I do think that's wrong. I think it's a whole team that like and I am looking at the manager there going, "What's going on?" because Kunya at striker we were talking about it doesn't really doesn't work for me. I'm not seeing what Carrick's seeing and yeah, I just really don't get it. >> that you have then if Shashko's unavailable? >> Yeah. >> And you your only option really is Kunya if you're going to play Rashford off the left. Diallo's injured. Trying to think who else you've got that's really a viable option there. >> Pretty much no one really. >> with Carrick's football, the the style of play that he likes is getting it down the wings and getting in the box. And for that, you literally need a striker, which is why when Sesko comes on in the previous games, they've looked better for it and he has grabbed a few goals. So, you're doing you're implementing this whole system based around the number nine, but then you don't have a number nine. It makes absolutely no sense. And the Kun your experiment, I know he scored today if you can even give that goal to him. I think it's not working. I think he's been one of the main problems for Man United this season. I think performances have been poor. Fulham's goal today, I know it was Martinez and Lamela at the back, but I would blame Kun. >> No, when he goes to hold the ball up, yeah. He jumps on the floor. >> And I'm like, that's not you're not even doing like striker hold up play. You're not doing anything that striker should do. So, I don't think that's why he's >> I do think that there are fingers being pointed in wrong directions as well, I think. Look, people might come at me saying I've got an agenda against him, but Bruno Fernandes again today wasn't [laughter] really great. Just the accent, mate. Generally wasn't like Look, he is I've said it before, he's a fantastic player, but where has he been in order to help these other players that do need support like Rashford. He needs help, of course he does. Kun you and B have money to service and stuff. Like, it's fine like turning up against Ipswich at home, but you've still got other teams to perform against as well. You're the captain, you're the PFA player of the year. You are the main man of Manchester United, so show it. And I'm I'm saying it because he is a fantastic player and he's not doing enough in order to be labeled as that recently, especially this season. >> Another team that didn't do enough this weekend, Arsenal. >> Yeah, shocking result to be fair. >> [laughter] >> Happens to everyone, honestly. I'm just glad it's not disastrous. >> 3-0 away at Brighton. I Let's give Brighton some props first cuz they had a hell of a performance from them. >> Good team, mate. >> Like, I remember Kun saying like they are probably the one of the best coached teams and stuff. Give them applaud it's on you. They are showing it this season. >> Their system is just incredible. Um I think playing in Europe for them as well and being able to manage that is hard. I love Brighton so much. They're my favorite team in the league and I think for sustainability for clubs that come up from the Championship, if you need a model to build off, Brighton's the one. >> Yeah, that's what you've seen everywhere at the minute. They're saying the three B's. I know Bournemouth haven't started the season that well, but say they're the landlords of the Premier [laughter] League right now. If you want to do anything in the Premier League, you've got to go you've got to get through Brighton, Brentford, and Bournemouth at the minute. And uh now Brighton they are they are absolutely quality. I think that's what happens because a lot of their fans last season when they were not doing so well towards the middle middle of last season, they were saying Hürzeler probably should go. And that is what happens when people who run the club know what they're doing, give him the chance because they could have easily sacked him. They've sacked managers in the past, but no, they said the Hürzeler project is one that's worth giving a go. And this season it's looking like it's paying off. I mean, they they battered us last week and looked a little bit better on us that they battered Arsenal as well. They they they beat they beat Arsenal because simply put they were better than Arsenal. It wasn't It wasn't because Arsenal were like Arsenal didn't play well, but it wasn't like Arsenal had such such a bad day at the office. No, Brighton just beat them 3-0 because they were three goals better than them on the day. So, tell you what, Brighton, I'm having a little I've I've had a look around this league. If Arsenal and Man City aren't up there, I'm telling you Brighton could be up there >> [laughter] >> at the minute. I said before the season started they were my team that could sneak fifth place, fourth place, Champions League. Could they aim higher? Who knows? Tell you what, Hürzeler lots here. He's got a hair transplant. >> [laughter] >> He's there. He's there. >> That's what they need. For for Arsenal as well, it's a case of the league's probably not as easy as they Of course they're not going to go into every game thinking they're going to win it, but it's just a reminder that they can go away to certain stadiums and teams and it's not going to be They looked very casual. That was actually They looked too comfortable. Yeah, like I know before that game they conceded one goal and fantastic goal from Rodgers, but yeah, there may be a little complacency, but now it's a good reminder like you're still in the Premier League. It's still the league to win. You're not going to steamroll it regardless of who you are and they are probably the best team in Europe even though PSG beat them in the final, but um yeah, just a little reminder to um kick kick into gear. >> Yeah, but just sorry, just on Arsenal as well. I do think there is a little it's getting a bit to a tipping point now this season with stuff that is clearly being coached into them on the training ground and we kind of touched on it a little bit earlier, but like with Gabriel, with Konza, there's a few instances where they're not looking to play football, they're just looking to try and win a free ki
