Welcome to the UK has brought all of us together. By showing respect for the team, referee and fellows, we make A better game for everyone. No place for season. >> [music] [music] >> Y [music] [music] keep down. I just [music] [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Hello. Hello. Holy [music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> Ready, [music] ready? Please welcome the team of >> [music] >> Well, hello and welcome to the Center Sport Dolive in Neon in Switzerland. It [music] is match day two of the 2026 Friendship Cup, an international competition for under 18 teams. Eight teams drawn from six football confederations. And we are concentrating on group A here, the first of four games today as Colombia take on Korea Republic. [music] Colombia beaten 3-2 by England in a cracking opening game. Korea Republic also drew 2-2 with Egypt before losing the subsequent penalty shootout. So, two teams both looking for their first win here at the UEFA Friendship Cup. Two teams are out. It is time as always for the national anthems. Please remain standing. National of Columbia. [music] [music] [music] The holy [music] glory can [music] [music] [music] holy glory. >> [music] >> I saw you [music] [music] Amen. [music] [music] Amen. >> So, the two sides who are third and fourth in group A going head-to-head here looking for their first win of the competition. The referee in charge of this one, Laura Moritzio from Freeborg in Switzerland, 30 years of age. Referees domestically in Swiss football. Well, with the unique nature of this competition, the challenge for the coaches is to ensure that every member of their squad plays at least 90 minutes. As a result, there's plenty of changes, nine in all for the Korean team from the side that drew 2-2 with Egypt. Only the captain Yung Ha won and Cho Ja Hok in defense keep their places from that draw against Egypt. Chro Hawk though is expected to switch to left back from the right back position that he played against the Egyptian. Both the goal scorers from that game as well. Kim Ji Wu and Yunhaan are both amongst the Korea Republic substitutes. Well, both teams gave a good account of themselves in the openers. Both scoring a couple of goals as well as the two teams prepare here for the pre-match photo. Message is clear. This competition all about respect and friendship. United States won this competition in 2025. Canada representing Conquer Calf this time around but got off to a horrible start. They were well beaten in their opening game. Remember how this competition works. It's a round robin. The top teams from each group play in the final. Second place teams play in the third place match, but there's also placement matches for fifth and seventh between the teams who finish third and fourth. So guaranteed four matches here in Switzerland, the uh eight teams that are taking part. So just about ready to go. Colombia have made plenty of changes as well. Six in all for them. It's a brand new forward line. Arbala, Martinez, and Mosca all coming in. Simon Rojas, the uh the captain today is in the center of their midfield. Goalkeeper and three of the back four though have remained the same for Colombia. Certainly a unique challenge, isn't it? getting every member of your squad to play at least 90 minutes. Lovely conditions here. It's 20° centigrade. Beautiful part of the world. Of course, right on the shores of Lake Geneva at UEFA HQ and it will be Colombia to get us underway. But the Koreans are taking their time. Norah Moritzio, the the referee looking in their direction as if to suggest they should be getting on with it. And now they do line up. Career Republic back in their traditional red shirts. Colombia wearing yellow. So a match that both teams realistically have to win there to stand any chance of making it to the final having effectively both lost their opening game albeit only on penalties for the Koreans against Egypt. Raala and now career on the front foot immediately. Namlan making the the break forward. The whistle's gone. It's a free kick. Yungha won the captain is over this. Took the lead against Egypt before falling 2-1 behind. They thought they'd lost the game when they conceded very late on, but managed to find an equalizer two minutes into stoppage time. >> All matches are decided one way or the other. So even though it is a roundrobin group stage, if it is level after 90 minutes, it is decided on penalties. TJ Hawk with a throw. Colombia unable to get it away. >> Too Yuan. Now Song Munji clearance initially from Colombia but here's a chance for the Koreans. Park Juho with the shot. headed away by Choy Ja Hok. Header on again by Park Juo. difficulty in getting any kind of consistency I suppose in terms of a a team performance with all the changes that you have to make. But this tournament is very much geared towards development. So game time important for these young teenage players. Both these sides have qualified for the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Qatar later this year. So this is an important competition in terms of uh warming up for the under 17 world cup. Colombia have twice finished fourth in that competition. Career Republic three times quarterfinalist at the under 17 age group. Header on again towards Lamn Nam. Picked up by Moon. Now Young. Bright start this from Korea Republic. It's fed out wide. It's blocked away. The shot from Limji Song. And a good save by Korea. And a corner for Korea. >> And that was on its way in. It's a good block. from Samuel Martinez. Carer >> Ker Republic keeping up this early pressure on the Colombians. >> That's a deep delivery. Columbia stab it away through up towards Sergio Martinez. The first of all the second balls at the moment. Career Georg Hok out to Tay Dun. Song. Here's Tay to Yunhawan. Ji Sun couldn't get on the end of it, but Park Juuho has one back again by Tay. Young Hawan, who's seen plenty of the ball in those central areas for the Koreans. >> And now a chance for Colombia here on the counter. Abala was offside. A >> really bright opening five and a half minutes. He took a while to get going against Egypt. Did the Korea Republic >> actually took the lead through a cracking goal from Kim Ji Wu on 19 minutes. but very much against the run of play. >> Very different start to this game though. [crying] Far looking for Americaan. Now Moon. >> There's Choy. >> Steps away from Sergio Martinez. terrific footballing complex this here in Neon. This pitch, pitch six and the uh the main stadium pitch are the two being used for the UEFA Friendship Cup. Here's Mosca and it's touched behind for a corner. >> First corner of the game for Colombia. Not >> overly committing yet. Just four in the penalty area for the South American side. It's taken short. It's well worked, but the finish was disappointing in the end. >> Christian Arbala >> found the space. It was an intelligent run. Nobody really picked him up in the Korean defense. A well worked corner but just not the finish. Solid header by Vasia. >> Now Song with the touch back to Lee. >> Sunman Su to Jo Yong Min. Tay Dun. >> Colombia really struggling to get any significant possession of the ball. >> Korea have started this game very much on the front foot and here they come again. Be gone on the far side. Cut past a couple of challengers but not the third. I mean Colombia give it away again. And they've been a bit loose in possession the South American side. Moon played it into Nam who couldn't control it. And a free kick for Colombia and a bit of rest bite from the latest spell of Korean pressure. >> Yeah, that was late from Munji Han. Via back to the goalkeeper. >> Here's Lim. Martinez wins it back though for Colombia and spotted the run of Mosca. Leaded well though. Good play from Samuel Martinez. One possession of the ball. Quick look up to see what was available and clipped the ball over the top. Well read though by Lingua, the Korean goalkeeper. >> I wondered if a high challenge might have been given there, but the referee happy to wave play on. here. Back to the goalkeeper. >> Here's Fry. Now, Via, >> it's a measured ball through the gap. It was a really good ball as well to Mario. >> And Colombia have themselves a second corner. only had four in the box for their last corner, but it was a well worked one which Abala fired off target. I doubt the Koreans would be caught by the same set piece for a second time. amassing for the deep delivery and Sergio Martinez in the center. Abalena makes his run in now. The corner played all the way back to almost the halfway line to Mario. >> Now a chance here maybe for Colombia. It's fizzed right across the sixyd box. >> Nobody able to get a significant touch to it. That was certainly better. >> Colombia, one of two nations from South America in the competition. Brazil are the other. >> Brazil got off to a very strong start, thrashing Canada 6-nil. It's cut out by Forer's draw with Egypt was the only one of the match day one games to need a penalty shootout to separate them. Oh, that's an ambitious effort from there. Leo gathers it comfortably. flipped out to Tay who was under pressure from Abascal >> and as a result Colombia have won it. Roass out to Martinez. This is a surging run forward. He's gone down under the challenge. Referee says nope. Difficult to tell fully from here, but the instinct was is that he went down very easily. Korean free kicks. >> Far across clears it away. Real fight for possession here. Mosca battling for it. And Colombia get the throw for Via under a bit of pressure. Moon waiting to pounce and backed him into the corner. Korea Republic have a throw in a pretty decent position here. >> See all the other games taking place, can't you? Going on in the background, training sessions. It's a real hive of activity. Plenty of distance on that throw, but Colombia clear their lines. >> There's a tug on the shirt there. The referee happy to allow play to go on. Teddo Yun with the throw up towards Nam. >> Held the ball up well. He's difficult to knock off the ball the Korean center forwards Yun over this. Lot to live up to starting this game. Namyan after Kimji Wu's goal in the first game. Absolute cracker from the edge of the penalty area. Did replace him in the second half of the Egypt game and starts this one. >> Stern word from the referee here >> as career await to take the free kick. Flipped in by Tay. >> Too many legs on that. Poor delivery actually from Ted Yu in the right back. >> Well, despite their bright start, Korea Republic with not a great deal to show for it. the Luigi song effort that was well saved by Samuel Korea. >> Other than that, it's been neat and tidy from the Koreans without an end product. >> Bayer switches it out towards Mosca. Keane with the head out into touch. Throw again for Korea. >> Forry >> Corer again launches it to this near side towards Mario >> who was forward the left back. Furry. >> There's for again sees a lot of the ball. Juan Fry doesn't seem too willing to bring the ball out though. Prefers to ping the ball early. It's good pressing here from the Koreans and Fory forced all the way back to Korea. >> Vasia now Roas. Marin [cheering] headed by Choy. Now Song trying to carry the ball out. Almost run himself into a bit of trouble though. And Colombia do come up with the ball with Christian Abala. >> Park getting himself in the way. It's a real tussle at times for possession of the ball in those midfield areas. A little bit scrappy. >> Songs Yun away from Arbala. Back to Song now. Choy Chroyong men the center back out to Choy J Hawk the left back >> and too much on that easily gathered by Kareah. Colombia have really struggled to put anything together in the attacking sense so far in this opening 20 minutes. Here's Abela. He's probably been the liiest liveliest actually of the Colombian front three. There's Fry. He's closed down again. Working hard off the ball. The Core Republic. ball just not sticking at the moment for Colombia. For winning that one, but just launching it forward. It's a bit one-dimensional at the moment from the Colombians. Becky will chase this. Farry was the favorite though and got there first. >> Here's Via El Mario. >> He's finding a bit of space down this near side. Didn't have it for long though because Limji Song was very quick to close down. Sergio Martinez Arala well played initially but Sman Mansu covered well. First time really we've seen Sergio Martinez involve himself in the game coming out of the center and onto the the left wing just to get himself involved. Service hasn't been great to the center forwards. Here's Marin. >> Chase is on for this one. >> And Mario got that. Then again the ball given away Sunsu Chong Min towards Yung Haan. Now >> Kon back again by Colombia. Here's Moscara. He's just overrun it again. It was all too easy for Joy Yong Min. Ball just not sticking at all with Colombia when they're in possession. The Koreans looking a lot more measured when they have the ball. >> Here's Marin Pu who back to Choy. >> Song menu. Abascale read the term well and that's ambitious again from there from Roas but a shot born out of frustration I think more than anything because Colombia haven't broken the Korean defense down at all. >> Roas deciding just to take a relatively wild lash at it. Sun Men Su >> into Puho on with the touch back. Here's Cho Yong Min. Columbia win it back for the first time high up the field. Now what can they work here? Joy Mil across. The whistle's gone though and it's a Korean ball. Free kick taken a little bit too quick for the referee's liking. Laura Mauricio, but >> he's not 10 yards away, is he? >> Clip forward now up towards Nam. got his head to that that time and Becky picks up on the loose ball. Here's Moon. The angle tightening all the time, but he's done well. Moon and clips it off target. Mji Han has been really lively in that attacking midfield position for Korea Republic running into the spaces. kept his composure there just to turn the ball inside onto his right foot, but disappointing finish in the end. Did not at least hit the target. >> The referee suggesting the the ball was moving then when Koreah took the goal kick. >> It needs to be retaken. Yawwan with the foot in. >> Here's Becky Chong Minu. Now >> Abascal >> problem Colombia are having the Koreans are working so hard when they don't have the ball that any Colombian player in possession is immediately put under pressure. It's very little space out there for those in yellow. It's >> just how long the Koreans can keep up this work rate. It's >> a poor free kick from Bayia. And there's a good chance and beaten away by Koreah Namyan with the shot. First sight he's had of the Colombian goal. >> And for the second time in this first half, Samuel Korea produces a fine save. All came about from that dreadful free kick from Santiago Vasier. >> Ball returned immediately to Namyan who very nearly did the rest. Good save Korea. >> Still have the corner to deal with here. Oh, it's a good ball in >> and Son Menu, was it Yang Nam actually? Yeah, it was the center forward Nam Yan who very nearly got a touch on it. >> Any contact on that, it would have been one n >> but it remains scoreless. Two big chances of this half have fallen the way of the Koreans though and Korea has been equal to both of them. >> Sonu Via now Martinez. >> He was going for goal there. It's blocked away by Choy. committed a few players forward there. Colombia can career take advantage of the extra space. >> Here's Tado Yun. He's made his way into the penalty area getting in the way though. Header back on by Sman. Too much on it and it's a Colombian goal kick. Here's Maria. >> It's another aimless ball. Possession is being given away so cheaply by the Colombians. Here's Yunha. foot in from Marin. Now Park Juo, >> the worry for Career Republic is they've been the better side in this first half, but have nothing to show for it. >> Colombia showed against England in the opener that they've got a goal or two in them. by Marin. Now that's a good turn from Mosca. Only really has two up in support. Martinez arriving now. It's played to him on the edge of the box. That's a lovely first touch. Papascal >> getting forward. Well defended though by Choy. A corner for Colombia, but that's much better. >> Now, what can they work from here? >> Five in there. Nala again on the edge of the penalty area. career hook it away. >> Sent back into the danger zone. Park with the header out. Here's Moscara. Abela taking on Taye. And Taye did well. wins the free kick from Christian Abalena who's not got an awful lot of change out of the Korean right back two chro >> I think he was just trying to work an opening for the shot which never came in the end. Nice determined play by Martinez. >> He's having to fight for every scrap of the ball he gets. Sergio Martinez, the Colombian center forward. And despite all their possession, it's the same story for Namyan as well. >> The Korean center forward >> did have that strike at goal which Kareah well saved. There's >> challenge from Yunga, but it's a free kick for Colombia. I mean, set pieces at the moment are looking Colombia's best route. They're >> not having enough of the ball in open play to trouble the Koreans defensively. Joy and Tedo Yun, the two fullbacks seem to have Abala and Mosca wrapped up so far. >> What can they work with this? Samuel Martinez is there. >> Sergio Martinez an obvious target. That's going to be the goalkeepers. Should we min comfortable in possession of the ball the two career in center backs as does this man Tay Yun played in towards Namyan again just too much on it. It's just that final bit of decision making that's letting the Koreans down. A couple of times they did find space to get the shot away. They found Samuel Korea the Colombian goalkeeper too tough to beat. Some men sue Troy Min. >> That's neat football. Yunghaan spread out to Bayon. That's a Korean throw. >> Well, can they get the breakthrough before Halime? They're running out of time. There's about seven minutes to go. >> Held up by Nam. And again, career keeping the Colombians penned in. Nam again. Colombia clear their lines, but it's coming back just as quickly. Played in by Tedo Yun this time. >> Now a chance maybe to release some of the pressure. Here's Mario. Now for >> potential to break away there on this near side and Mario didn't seem to have the wherewithal to set about it. But here comeia now it's a good save from Leonga. Still it's not away. Oh, it's off the post and Colombia inches from taking the lead here. Still three in the penalty area. Crossing again. Headed away by Choy. That's by far and away the best opportunity that Colombia have produced in the game. And >> finally Choy gets it away for Korea. >> It looked as though the chance had gone when Mario backpedalled on this near side, but they switched the play up to the far side and resulting in that effort against the post. Here's Via Marin. >> Double chance really, wasn't it? Lee with the the first save. Then the the second ball getting the better of the Korean goalkeeper, but the upright keeping Colombia at bay. American. >> Header out by Fry. >> Here's Limji Song. Ted Yun. This is neat play. This is Munji Han just trying to play it into Nam again who couldn't hold off the defender and Limji Song gives it away but there was a foul in the buildup. It's a free kick to Korea Republic and this is certainly within range. >> Yeah, that's late. from Kevin Marin. >> That's Roas who's been booked. >> Good opportunity here then for Korea. Yunha won the the captain is over it. Munjian is there as well. Perhaps Tado Yuan the uh the right back fancies a pop at this. Interesting setup this from the Koreans. >> I think it's going to be Yung Haan. T Yun peeled away. No reaction from Yung >> who hits it over the wall and it's a beauty. [cheering] What a strike from Yung-ha and Korea Republic do
