[music] Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the teams of Colombia and Brazil. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Hello and welcome to the start of the fourth and final days play in the UEFA Friendship Cup. [music] And we are watching what is effectively the bronze medal match here between Colombia and Brazil. Both of whom finished as runners up in their respective groups and both of whom have given us great entertainment over the last 10 days or so. We will have 90 minutes of sure to be good action coming right up after we have heard the two national anthems. >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Hallelujah. [singing] [music] [music] >> Here's a quick check on the teams ahead of kickoff. Colombia full of players who helped them win the under 17 South American Championship in Paraguay earlier this year. And they beat Brazil and beat them well in the semi-final, then beat Argentina even more so in the final with the likes of Caeso and Escortia and Echearia all in action and all on the score sheet. They also have Samuel Martinez who has just joined English Premier League club Liverpool during the recent transfer window. As for Brazil, it's been mixed up a little bit by Dudu Pachici today, but they're captain by Ka Fukim, who is looking to continue his 100% record, having scored in each of their three games, including a late winner from the penalty spot against K Divoir in the final group game. These two nations have given us some of the best entertainment we've seen at this third edition of the UEFA Friendship Cup. Brazil a thumping win against Canada, a great game against Spain, which they ended up losing 3-1 and then that 2-1 win over Kat Divoir late on. Colombia have had a couple of wins by a single goal as well as a defeat by a single goal. They have scored plenty. They've conceded as well the Colombians in all of them. They've also fought back from behind twice to win. So there is every chance of goals galore in this match here. One of two taking place right now across this final day of play. All of which ends with what is effectively the final. The two nations that finished above these two in groups A and B, namely England and Spain, who will meet for the trophy at the end of it all. They've got four games going on. Those who finished fourth, third, second, and first, all playing one another from their respective groups. And a tasty all South American encounter here. The two nations that finished bottom of the groups, Korea, Republic and Kat Divvoir are also meeting in a game that is about to kick off. The two finish third. Egypt and Canada meet a little later on. And as I say, it finishes with England, Spain this evening. All taking place here in the shadow of UEFA HQ in Switzerland. What a brilliant tournament it's been >> both in terms of the football and the experience on a broader level. Colombia will kick us off. They get to wear the yellow shirts and away we go with Bry looking long straight away. >> Two targets up there. And the first touch of the game puts it out of play from Avascal who is a definitely a name to look out for. Gawk Abascal the youngest players here at this tournament of Real Madrid and already subject of little bit of a tugofwar between Spain and Colombia as to who will get his services if and when he does develop to a full international. He's wearing six in the middle of the park. Here he is just getting his foot to the ball there. Forward by Valencia. >> Colombia have been behind at some point in all three of their matches and yet they've come through to finish second in that table beneath England but above Egypt and the Core Republic coming back to win two of those three. headed back by Bruno Sales to Artur Dval there who keeps his place in the Brazil goal. Art Sain played the first two games. Dval came in for game three against Kat Dvoir. There is a uh an emphasis on the coaches to make sure everybody gets a certain amount of minutes throughout the whole squad at this tournament. It's all inclusive in that way and all the better for it I think developmentally. Dval >> made some risky maneuvers in that Kat Devoir game, including a headed error that led to the Ivory Coast equalizer. It was heading for a penalty shootout until a an in-game penalty was converted by Kaweim late on. At the other end, Colombia's keeper here. >> Martinez career. Oh, it's given away. It's a gift. gratefully accepted 2 minutes in and Eduardo Concis who scored their opener in the first game here against Canada has done it again here. Martinez Koreah firing that into Karo who couldn't take it not cleanly. Eduardo Concis did and Brazil ahead already. Well, they didn't have to work very hard for that. Well, I mentioned Colombia have been entertaining and they've been behind in every game. Well, they're behind in this one now. >> I'm sure Brazil will know that they have fought back well. a goal down early to Korea Republic >> and behind against Egypt as well. >> And they won both of those. The one they didn't get back from was when they played the English. They're doing it the hard way, the Colombians. >> Down the line here for Lucas Emanuel to keep it in. He's the starting center forward here. in ahead of Rodrigo Juno >> for now anyway. I'm sure we'll see him later. >> Basco Dama number nine. >> This was never likely to be a KG and quiet affair. >> Brazil 6-nil winners, >> beaten 3-1 and then 2-1 winners. And as I say, Colombia >> behind, in front, behind and in front throughout. Lucas Emanuel again. Murio on the cover. one of the players out there along with Ida Kho. >> There's Murio there. The uh plays for Independent Medí. >> That's another cheap giveaway this time by Moreno. Brazil looking to punish again and they very nearly did. Lucas Emanuel just wide. Well, some very shaky moments in their attempts to play out from the back. That pass was nowhere near Kario. He was the one who wasn't able to take it first time around when it brought the Brazilian opener. But that time he was given no chance by the pass from Moreno. >> Jean Moreno himself who got the quick equalizer against Egypt in game three only three minutes after they went behind. Well, they nearly went further behind three minutes after here. Richard Wendell, Brazil's left back with the throw. Wendell calling for it and it's coming his way. It's gone over him. ahead of Wendell on this left side. Zoto got the start ahead of Brian. Now, let's see. Brazil will squeeze, won't they? And sure enough, it's not so much playing out from the back this time. A longer clearance. There's a a hook in the middle there. A foul by Samuel Martinez on the goal scorer. >> Under 18 level, not always a level at which most nations play international football. Can often be found at under 17 or under 19. So, a promotion for many who have been part of under 17 groups for their various nations here and you're seeing that very much in the Colombian selection. Wendell on he goes. Xiao now four five in the middle for Brazil. Xiao looks like he wants to go for goal and he tried to danger not over Pap and then Wendell lost it. Now he's out of position. The closing down from the Brazilians is sharp at the moment. Needs to be when you got that many upfield. so far. They've been forced back largely Colombia. Brazil have had pretty much all the possession mostly in Colombian territory. Haven't >> seen the Colombians in any meaningful possession or stringing anything together yet. It's been a >> pretty dominant 1-0il for eight and a half minutes. Long way to go is Xiao. >> Sure the Colombians will settle into the game soon enough, but Brazil just not letting it at the moment. Credit to them for that. Uruguay and Argentina were the two South American >> nations invited last time around 2025 and the USA ended up beating Portugal. A whole different set of eight nations invited to this if you're not familiar with the format. It's only three editions old. the first in 2024 held in Tokyo. We had an African winner over a European nation. Marley beat Slovakia in that final. An all European final that come later today. That was the first moment Colombia had a sniff of getting forward. Escortia on that far side. Dangerous player who scored twice against some of these players in the semi-final win against Brazil at those under 17 South American Championships this year. He also scored one in the final. Sensational stuff for Colombia and rightly celebrated. >> Wendle with the pull back >> cannot get hold of the ball at the moment. Colombia Shusten into Wendell. It's almost like Brazil have got a couple of extra players here. Xiao Cuto nicely done went for glory and drilled it hard. Curled in by Wendell. [cheering] >> Chested down by Lucas Emmanuel and he went down. They just not given them any when they do pinch it back. Colombia generally they've had no time on the ball but finally they've got it at their feet here. See if they can show us a little bit of what they got cuz there's a lot of it. >> Not for long. Otavio Gabrielle in for Brazil. Sharp and better from Colombia have now got their starting line up the field so everyone can push on a bit. Here's Valencia. plays for Deportivo Calli. The >> under 17 group, it's only the second time they've won that South American Championship, the only previous one way back in 1993. But they were justified celebrations when they beat Brazil 3-0 in the semi-final. but to then go on and beat Argentina 4-nil in the final. Astonishing stuff and plenty of these were involved. It would appear the future is bright and I'm sure they'll show us that during the course of this game here. No one there. Well, Brazil the top scorers in this tournament and already on the board here as we see the effort. Remember to go from Xiao with a nice step over and a drilled shot. From that angle, you'd you'd always favor Martinez Cor and sure enough he made the stop. top scorers in the group in either group actually Brazil with nine goals now up to 10 obviously Colombia scored six times it's not bad in three matches in a bit but also conceded five beautiful skills from Samuel Martinez that was superb was not on on the sprint through the middle. It would have brilliant, confident, could have gone wrong kind of swivel in midfield from Samuel Martinez who has for Liverpool in England albeit he won't join up until next summer. Little window on those skills there though. That was beautifully done. Brazil ball for the foul. perfectly measured pass and Xiao was blatantly pulled back. Now, will this just be a talking to or will it be a card for Chividia? I think it's just a talking to. later on in the game. 100% he'd get a caution for that citical foul. Jacuto sped away. Lovely first touch. >> Great touch from the goal scorer Concis. who's normally the deepest line midfielder, but they're all getting encouraged to come forward here with the shot there. Gabrielle, the flumeni player. Martinez, he's looking for that killer pass again. He assisted goals in both the semi-final and final of that under 17 South American Championship. Samuel Martinez tends to be that >> Abascal and Karo >> will do a little more of the defensively minded work in that Colombian midfield and Samuel Martinez gets to do the prettier stuff which he is better equipped to do. Valisia giving it away rather cheaply and Daniel Silva finds Couten plenty of it these early stages. That's another neat skip. >> In the end was double teamed. >> Samuel Martinez again on the run. >> This time they did catch him enough to foul him. >> And it's a no more warning as well there from our Swiss referee. They're all uh all Swiss the officials at this tournament. Homegrown officials. Right. That's one each on the warnings. I suspect the next foul that's on that kind of borderline will bring a cardia. >> He too is double teamed. Alisia >> Moreno just in the nick of time got away with a really slack ball earlier on. Could have been 2-0. is now will. Yes, treatment will be required here. Chance for a little team chat down there on the right. Dudu as they call him, Patuchi, the Brazil coach has worked with most of these for quite a while because he was under 15 group coach a couple of years ago. So they kind of come up with him. That is something that a lot of club and international levels will do for obvious reasons. Freddyardo, Colombia boss over there. And his team are going to have to do it the hard way again here. And it looks like, >> yeah, it will be a change. We're going to see Miguel Agames here. And uh distress there for Martinez. He looks in some bother. I mean, at least he walked off, but whatever it is, >> for a huge disappointment for Liverpool's new youngster. is being replaced by number eight. >> Miguel Agamez scored twice >> in the final against Argentina at those South American Championships earlier this year. He's also scored here the second in the 3-2 defeat to England on match day one. similar sort of player, >> but >> that'll be a real blow not just for the the individual obviously, but for Colombia in general. He's such a creative force through the middle. Martinez, he'll play no further part. Let's hope he's okay. >> Tight angle as Brazil look for a second. FY with the challenge. Brazil have the corner. They're all still in there. That's a decent ball. >> Only one option for a counterattack. Scorzia trying to turn it into something and he has. Fair play to him there. He's all on his own. He's won it. He's held it and now teammates come to play. Excellent work there from Jose Scoria, >> but it brings nothing. the lenient side so far. It's no bad thing. Halfway through the first half, Brazil in charge in every sense, I think it'd be fair to say here. Not quite the total dominance they had for the first 10 minutes or so, maybe even 15. Colombia just starting to get further up the field and settle a little more into this contest. >> Farry CO just forcing those passes a little so far. I think the Colombians looking for a killer ball over the top into a forward or down the channel bit too soon. Maybe that is the game plan and they're just going to have to sharpen up on the accuracy of those passes or maybe try and keep it a fraction longer. Nothing for Dval here to do place for Santos at club level. There's a famous Brazilian name. May well see Artus Sen, the Atletico Paran keeper at some point. You make a lot of changes and that is part of this that everybody gets a lot of game time. Cheap turnover there straight into behind him here. It's a foul on the newly arrived Agamese. I think this guzz got a hold of that end to end stuff. You can see with Brazil that Justin will >> not necessarily drop in between the two center backs, but he's certainly the deepest line midfielder and that does tend to allow Wendell Octavio Gabrielle to go high. There's just wearing 15 there just floating in between. Pap will do likewise on occasion. Seduardo Concis gets to go and join in a little more further forward and nice idea on that pass. Both Cal Fukim and Lucas Emanuel nearly onto it but nearly won't cut it. Here come Colombia with Escortia. And there's some potential here. 25 minutes in Escortia going for it. And uh it's eventually dealt with in slightly unorthodox fashion. >> Fancy footwork and the crowd enjoyed that. >> Good entertainment in this competition and >> for any locals wishing to come. There's uh >> no tickets as such or registration. It's all free. A >> festival of high quality international youth team football. >> And again here he is. She's with the youth team at another famous Brazilian named Vasco Dama. >> Great run. Kukim looking to make things happen again. Not seen much of him, funnily enough for someone who's had such a a big imprint on this tournament. Kawa Fukim, sure he'll have his moment. He's the one who scored that penalty in the final group match to beat the Ivory Coast. There's only a few minutes to go in that. Before that, he'd scored an early second half goal against Spain. At that point, Spain were were 2-0 up and that really made it game on. And that was a that was quite a game. Missing the friendship to be fair. It got a little bit niggly that one. And in the first match, he'd scored the goal that put them two up against Canada before they ran right and ended up scoring six times in all. That even included missing a penalty. Scoria held up by cow there getting back and doing his defensive duty. the captain very good given that he is nominally the right-sided attacking player. But such an emphasis these days on those positions getting back to help their fullbacks mostly because they aren't really fullbacks anymore. Dudu down there in the green pointing the coach came through first at Flamingo then at Flumei when he was a young player. Few senior appearances for Flummeni in the 1990s, good inspiration, not least for Gabrielle, who's in that club at the moment. As we approach the half hour, still that third minute error at the back from the Colombians with Brazil in control. >> To be fair, Arval at the other end has not really had to face any real threat yet. And >> again, just overhitting the Ambitious forward pass there the Colombians. That has been a bit of a theme. >> Guto seen that step over a couple of times already. That's well defended by Valencia who's got up to stick tight but too tight there. Free kick to Brazil. Take away my That's back. Wendle has just come >> lurking forward here. >> Nice angle. Concisal delivers. >> Well, I'm sure he was looking for his teammates, but for a moment that looked like it was heading for the far corner. Nearly had a Very different kind of second goal here. Eduardo Concisal Martinez Koreah saw the late bend on it. In fairness, the curl right at the end seemed to really be accentuated. Hence the quick reactions >> from a dangerous free kick to a dangerous corner which is played short to the captain Kim. >> Deep delivery. Thought >> Joe Cuto was going to be in the clear around the far post there. Just didn't quite reach him again. Colombia try and force it on the counter, but that is seemingly the plan here. And you presume they will get it right on a few occasions. They get it. Brazil are all up. One good ball, diagonal, channel, over the top, whatever. Maybe they can get in. >> Just haven't got their passing radar right just yet. is the first recipient of a yellow card here. >> You could see it was there to be gone for and you can understand why he did. He came in with a fair bit of force though and the the footwork was so quick that by the time he got there the ball was gone. So Edwinia most of whose work so far has been helping out Valier at the back. Here's the first name taken. It was quite a solid connection. >> You can understand all aspects of that. Let's hope uh let's hope he's okay down there. Yeah, I think mostly possibly he's just had the wind knocked out of him. It's Richard Wendell, the left back who gunning forward. I think that possibly goes down as in the category of a challenge that probably looked and sounded worse than it actually was in terms of intent in it. So pretty hefty coming together and it's another chance for Eduardo Concisal to deliver a free kick from this same area. >> Just checking himself there, Wendell. I think he's going to be okay. Well, he's just h
