Ah, it was it was a a fun 65 minutes, wasn't it? At Anfield. Um, young Kumas did okay up front. I thought I thought Victor Munoz was good. >> Was very Liverpool based if I'm honest, being in mind that you support them a little bit. >> Trying I'm just trying to be I'm I'm trying to be unbiased. >> The better side. >> Trying to be unbiased. >> Thought it was pretty even myself. >> Well, it wasn't even when he got sent off. >> I was just looking at the the VAR update. Second yellow cards on >> uh VAR protocol extended to allow the review of second yellow cards warded that they are clearly incorrect. >> Was it clearly incorrect? >> Hold on. Hold on. High threshold for intervention. The referee's call stand unless the second yellow card award is clearly and obviously incorrect. Well, I'm afraid if you read that, you'd have to say that there was nowhere to go for VAR. M >> um I thought the referee uh which >> the best referees just pause a little bit. >> Yeah. >> Um and just try and understand what the situation is. It might be someone who's hit someone or someone's pulled their hair or a trip like that. Just pause, think about it. Is that a yellow card? I thought it was just a foul personally. >> Um was he gonna break and really attack um the goal? Maybe. So, I think it was one of those sort of 6040 for me. 60 uh maybe yellow card and 40 maybe not. >> Yeah. >> Uh and therefore you got to go with a referee. That was his call. >> What's happened to just it being a foul? You mentioned it there and you're right. Why can't it just be a foul? >> I know. >> Everyone get up play on free kick to Man City. >> I I I personally think lots of games are spoiled like that. particularly the start where there's just fouls and and yellows are brandished and then suddenly you got players you're going to have to take off the pitch because you're in danger of losing them to a red card. I mean, let's be honest, it's a minor story because the big story today, of course, is Manchester City winning and the taste it's left everybody because we all kind of in this twilight zone of what what's going to happen to the league. They've now played 616. this team that has so many charges and allegations against them. We're all like, "Where are we then? What's going to happen now?" >> Yeah. Well, like, what does it mean? What does it mean for this team? As you say, top of the table, six from six and looking good. Um, >> I know what it means for them. I mean, you know, we're watching clips of them being interviewed now. I mean, >> all smiles. >> Yeah. Because, you know, for them it's like it's normal. They're just they're paid to do a job. They're professionals. They did a job today. a brilliant performance from them I thought in terms of uh uh what Liverpool brought to the table which was passion tension a stadium that was packed ready to like bring them down and they stood up to it and because they're great players and great and the managers done a good job today the subs were good um he handled himself well in the press I thought this week so on their side they can only do their jobs professionally uh we know all the allegations and all the harm that's been brought to Man City is from above >> and unfortunately that is not going to go away until we have some resolution in this situation. >> You said the big talking point is this Man City and the Charges. I think the second biggest talking point and me and you were kind of going back and forth watching the game. I think Florian Vertz was outrageously bad. >> When you think of what Liverpool need when all your big players are up, right, you know, Sosa's out and Gakpo and Isach and Liverpool fans will be looking at Floyd Verz thinking, "Okay, we need you to finally turn up. Liver, >> you're the big guy. You're the big signing. You're the one that was supposed to come as the wonder kid delivery did like nothingly. He did okay for Germany this week as well. So you'd think it was like confidence would have been boosted a little bit. >> His first reactions in the game were poor. Yeah. >> And I think that put him on a bad footing. I mean the one the the concern I would have is obviously you can make a a signing that doesn't work out and Vertz very much looks like that but Bola wasn't very good either was he? So, your two big signings offensively to make things happen. Salah's gone, etc., etc., uh, you got is sitting on the sideline there. I thought both of them were like, "Wow, okay." A little bit more. And I'm sure we'll have some Liverpool fans who will come on and maybe mention that. But, you know, you know, we're not going to we can't get away from the elephant in the room. Unfortunately, the elephant is staying with us. >> Yeah. all the way until January, maybe February, maybe March until we get some kind of penalty uh to toward to towards his Man City team. In the meantime, they're just going to carry on doing their job. Who knows? Who's to say they might not be unbeing? >> Yeah, some built it as good versus evil. If it is that case, then evil certainly came through today at Anfield. Let's go to the phone lines. The phone lines are lighting up as expected. Let's go to Ad. Sorry, Ada. Adam, the Liverpool fan first. Adam, what do you want to say on the game? Look, Chris Kavanaaugh I thought spoiled it, but what do you make of this Man City side and Florian Vert again? Big money signing didn't turn up again. >> All right, lads. Can you hear? Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't know. Uh I feel like I'm in another universe watching this. I feel like I don't want to blame Florian himself, but I'm I'm watching a guy who was signed 100 million pound winger. H Jamal Muciala is Jeremy's number 10. We've got this lad who's been a winger for Labour cusen, a winger for Germany. His best game for Liverpool was a winger against Real Madrid and we're putting him in midfield and now we've individually turned on every member of a titan title winning midfield >> because he's a winger and he's playing in midfield. H I can't watch it anymore. Um I think we're hanging him out to dry and I think the team looks worse because of it just because he's not absolutely rapid. Um I think that's the problem and he's the same as Trent. You see all these clips of him in loads of space stood in the middle of the pitch picking out passes and he's able to do that because he's coming off the side. >> Every number 10 of the last decade. Uh >> Adam, Adam, I got to cut him. Adam, I got to cut in. I think you're being super kind. Adam, I think you're being super kind. Me and Par were watching this game, honestly. And his first five passes misplaced all of them. And that doesn't that's no impact on being outside on the wide, a right-sided forward or a number 10. You've got to get your first five passes. He had a couple of free kicks and corners, hit the first man. That's nothing to do with being a number 10 or being a right-sided forward. >> I I promise you. Hey, look at last decade. David Silva, Philip Coutinho, Phil Stone, Cole Palmer, one, whoever you want to call, all the best number 10 of last decade. Do you know where they actually played for most of the game? On the wing. Lionel Messi exactly the same. They all play on the wing. David Silva is a little bit different. Pep does the 4222 thing, but his starting position is left hand corner of the box. Same as where Florian Bur wants to be. You're putting him on the other team's biggest, hardest midfielder all the time. Of course, Ali Anderson's going to push him over. I can't believe it's still going on. I think that's the problem every game. Every single game. >> Yeah. All right. Cheers, Adam. Appreciate the call. I think I think again I think you're being really kind there. Um, let's go to Kate as well. Liverpool fan. Kate, what did you make of the game? >> Yeah, we've just left. Um, it's the first time I'd left a game at 78 minutes. >> And it wasn't so much about Liverpool, it was watching City. >> They've made a farce for the league. It It was a joke in there today. That team should never have existed. And I'm just really sad for the Premier League. I'm sad for the teams that have missed opportunities because they're they're cheating. you know, those those teams that finished in fifth and could have could have gone on to a Premier League uh so to a Champions League place and they haven't because City cheated. It's just it's really hard to swallow and I just think they've destroyed the Premier League. >> They've destroyed it and and then watching them today celebrate the way they did. Harland in particular after his first goal, it it felt very disrespectful. >> I' I'd be embarrassed to play for them. I'd feel shame right now with the scrutiny they're under, but the fans were horrendous and yeah, it was just it's just really sad. >> Yeah, I mean Kate, just going on to your point there about teams that finished fifth. I actually managed a team that did finish fifth in Newcastle one particular year. So >> yeah, so that that that is painful for a lot of professionals in the game for various reasons. Cups and I mean Tony Pulis lost a cup final for example. So you know everybody has suffered Java won a Premier League. Yeah, exactly. So, the the the point you're making, I think, is where most fans sit. It it it's finding it's hard to swallow, Kate, isn't it? You have sat there and watch the game. >> No, there's no coming back, though. There's no there's no punishment that's ever going to bring those moments back, those opportunities. >> Of course, but I I think >> No, I I don't want the trophies. Absolutely not. They're they're just, you know, gone now. They're gone. But yeah, there's no resolution for me from this. It is destroyed football and that that's why we left today because it was just so sad being there and watching them celebrate the way they did and it was just Yeah, it >> but you Kate, you won't be the only set of fans who have that feeling. Trust me, every game they play the the opposing fans are going to have a similar take on it, aren't they? And it's going to be hard to sw fan to sit there and watch a professional team, which they are a professional outfit and professional players doing their job. That's all they're doing. Yeah. They're not trying to rub noses in it. I don't think it but they're just doing their job, but unfortunately they're all there under uh this cloud. >> Yeah. All of them. And you're you're right. It's it's it's hard to kind of point fingers at the players. I mean, she mentioned Harland. That's just Harland. He's competitive. >> Enzo Fernandez. They're competitive. you you'd want them on your side because they've got that kind of bite about them. But as you say, everywhere they go, >> every team they play and every team they beat cuz they're going to beat a lot of teams by the way, there's going to be this reaction to it. It is very important just as well to point out that Man City have strongly denied all the charges um and have also appealed the panel's decision. I think it's important to to reflect that whether or not that's going to have any bearings come the end of the season is a whole different thing. Yeah, that's another that's another, you know, that is true, but that's another thing that I think sticks in pills, you know, the fact that they're not even acknowledging it. They're just denying and deny deny deny. And I think um, you know, the the the general fan of any club, no matter, you know, what age group he is, it's like finding that eye to digest. >> Be interesting to hear from Man City fans as well. Like surely there must be some fans that just want a decision. I mean, we talk about it being over the players heads and the managers heads, but surely there's some fans that like, we don't know what's going on. Yeah, we celebrate these big wins and here's a big win at Liverpool Anfield, but what does it mean come the end of the season? Will those three points mean anything uh come and have your say Liverpool fans as well, come and have your say as well. Again, Chris Kavanaaugh, I thought really bad uh performance, but Florian Verz, Bradley Barola, two players that cost overundred million pounds on the biggest game of the season went vanishing, disappeared. 150 million by >> 150 there he go he's counting 03717234 come and have your say all right we are talking the big game at Anfield Liverpool beaten 3-0 by Man City who were fantastic in the last 25 minutes but helped massively by that second yellow card given to Ryan Grain Burch by Chris Kavanaaugh let's go to the phone lines once again let's go to Gary Man City fan Gary look I know you're going to be happy I know you're going to be gloating um how do you think the game was playing out before the second yellow card to Graham Burchch Does it really matter? I was waiting for this. Boohoo. Uh, the pantomime villains are in town. Boohoo. Manchester. Get all you fans out there. Uh, get them all in the stands, booers, because that's going to galvanize us. >> Galvanize you to what though? Exactly. >> We're going to storm this league. We're going to do everything that all our rival fans hate, loathe, and despise. Keep galvanizing us. We did that. You did all this for the last 15 years and all it's done is made us the greatest team this country's ever produced. And it doesn't matter how much the red cartel keep trying. The point is that no matter what you try and do to us, there's an appeals process. So suck it up and let us just get on with it. Try and beat us on the playing field against 11 players. But we went to Cauldron Anfield today, didn't we? Cauldron Anfield. Wow. You know when you know when you say try beat us on the playing field with 11 players point that's that's isn't that the point of this whole thing that isn't that the point of the charges it isn't an even playing field >> no because you changed the rules the red cartel it was 11 players but when United went out and bought all those 11 players for top money Liverpool went out last year and spent 400 million and what happened they fell off a cliff >> so you know when you say you know when you say >> for a player >> Gary you know when you say but the rules were changed You are correct. And look, you are correct cuz Chelsea prior to that, you are correct. Roman Abramovic spending a lot of money and the rules were changed. >> You still broke You still broke the rules. >> Yeah. And the people that got together, the red cartel that were winning everything again. They they all got together and changed the rules. City did as much as they could under the circumstances, but it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. 11 players are against 11 players. Uh and and you said somebody got sent off. We didn't galvanize United yesterday to go on and win, did it? >> No. No. What I did ask you though beforehand, and I don't know if you're going to answer it because I can tell you you're fired up. I did ask how the game was playing out before the sending off. >> Doesn't matter. It's a cauldron, won't it? We don't. Up until the last two years, we have never won at this place because it was fortress. I expected us to go there and not win. I thought there'd be 10,000 dodgy decisions against us and all that. No. Great players are great players, you know, and they'll fight and fight and fight and City's done that for as long as I can remember. Even when you you know, you know, we had our dodgy period, you know, but every team's had dodgy periods over the years. People can't remember. They always go back to us in the 90s, you know. We're the greatest team in Manchester and always have been. >> The whole point of it is we can't beat the publicity machine. >> The publicity machine. If you get rid of the publicity machine and all the the pundits, the red cartel pundits, and you actually get loads of city pundits, you might get a fair leving field level playing field, >> right? You won the game, Gary. Is there a part of you though as a fan that just wants to kind of just all this over and done with like a resolution either way? >> No, I keep keep sending your fans out booing us. That's going to keep galvanizing us. >> We're going to get him off track here. He's on his track. >> Yeah. you know. >> All right, Garrett, top man. Honestly, appreciate the call. Thank you very much. He's not answering any question, is he? I think he's just come on air with his own idea of I'm just going to say this and say this and maybe not answer your questions. Um, but he's clearly fired up and I understand it. You know, >> fans are going to be fired up. >> It's just it's for a Man City fans, it's tough. It's tough to take, is it? Because obviously they've been all these cup finals, won the league, etc., etc., all his memories and everything and now it's being tarnished in the courtroom and um >> uh although that obviously still process is still going on but I you can understand why and then in the team there's that sort of galvanizing inhouse kind of like unity us against them >> yeah and they've obviously used that the the coaching staff I would use that if I was the manager you'd have to because you got to lean on something there you got to take some positives if there is any I I mean, you know, um I think um >> being a little bit humble uh is not a bad thing either, though. >> Yeah, the humility would would uh would be nice as well. >> Yeah. Let's go to Daniel, the Liverpool fell. Let's squeeze him in quickly before the break. Daniel, um disappointing. It's it's a weird one, is it? Because ultimately, I mean, you would have heard all the cheat cheats chance being thrown around. It's a difficult one for Liverpool fans to take this one. >> Yeah. Good evening, Jir. Yeah, it it's obviously it's it's very difficult to take against uh a team that's obviously been charged with 114 charges and we don't really know what's going to happen with them. Obviously, they've got the appeal and they've got this irrefutable evidence that why didn't they come out with it in the first place, but my my question is well two main questions I've got. The first one would be surrounding the referee. Now, Chris Cav is from Greater Manchester. Now I'm not saying anything about that but in my opinion you've got all the hype around the game Liverpool Man City and Anfield after the after the charges have come out. So why did he pick a great Manchester? >> He should have had a pause. That's what he should have done. He made him in my opinion he was a bit hasty on that decision. When you look at it matterof factly it you could argue that it's a yellow card. >> Yeah. So, you know, it's but in the context of the game, it was like, yeah, last warning, son. Don't, you know, don't let me see you do anything like that again. Uh, that would have been my shout if I was referee. I don't think where he comes from matters. He's a professional referee and he should have, he should have actually managed that situation better in my opinion. Um going back to the chance from man uh from Liverpool fans at the end which I thought was you know what you just brought up there the cheat every pass that's going to made. How many times we going to hear that between now and the end of the season? >> It's going to be difficult but I I think one thing Gary the City fan did say and I know I know he went on and on and on but I think he's right. I think it's going to galvanize them. I think they've got characters in that City side and look at Enzo Moresco and he's a bit bullish on the sideline as well. I think that they don't run away from that. I don't think their players sink. Look at Ellie Anderson today. He was good. >> They're a winner. They're winners. They're winners. They're fighters and winners. >> They're paid to be winners. So, you know, it don't matter what's put in front of them, they're going to try and win the game. And um they do look formidable uh actually as a team. So, >> that's scary for the Premier League, isn't it? >> If you take away
