Good evening and welcome to the Sports Bar on Talks Bar. I'm Jamie Arra, him over there, Jason Cunding. How has anyone seen Evan? Can you crrrr me toffees? You're Mr. One hell-liver beaten. No mask for you, son. No mask for you. Spurs are back. Spurs are back. Done a job on Coventry tonight, out of the bottom three. Absolutely flying. Three one. We've just done a live watch along on our new youtube channel the sports bar locking we want your calls now though get involved in the show oh three seven one seven double two double three double four we'll look back at the weekend's action including man united failing to win again plenty of more action as well over the weekend loads to go get involved in this show you know what to do it's a sports bar and talk sport spurs are back spurs are Hello, mate. How are you? At the Spurs. At the Spurs. Hey, how are you feeling? How are you feeling? Yeah, we Well, I'm just looking at the top of the table, mate. Oh, mate, who cares about the table? No one cares about the table, right? That was top draw tonight. Top draw. You know, shame you. Proper performance, that. Dominated possession. Dominated the first half. We'll let him back in it a little bit, but I'll tell you what, mate. Some good Angelina Kelly is with Spurs manager Roberto Di Zerbi. Hi, Roberto. Congratulations on the win, the first Premier League win of the season. You're out of the bottom three. How does it feel? I'm very happy for the result. I think we didn't play very well. We didn't play like Man Utd or the first half with Villa, Banoff because we didn't play well for our responsibility but it's very tough when you have no space, especially in the first half. They defended very close, not too much space between the line and we suffered a little bit but it's important this result. So you feel that you didn't have the performance that you wanted because of those defensive issues? No, no, no. We prepared this game Like we played, we knew before the game they defended with a lot of block. We didn't concede any and the counter-attack, it's important because their style is 80 % counter-attack. But if we compare the other performance with Everton in the first 30 minutes or other games in this season. I think we played much better in another situation. Anyway, I'm very happy. I knew the difficulty of the game and Now, with three points more, I think we can understand that we are able to win the game also as well. And how do you push on from this now and make sure that the performance is good but also that the wins now continue? No, the performance was good considering the level of difficulty of the game. Now we it's important today because uh jess madison is back uh another great news for us domi solanke played a good game marmouche first game the player who came inside in the second half from the bench they played very well they they gave a big support great uh great uh spirit, great reaction after their goals and many many good things. Now Tosi and Andy Robertson at Omar Marmish they looked in a little bit of discomfort. What is the prognosis? I think it's It's not a problem. Robo just felt pain but not big problem and Tosin the same, but was important for Tosin play today. He was very, very smart in the first half to organise the rest defence, to organise the offence's face because in this game you can't see the dangerous situation, but if you make some mistake in the ball possession, you can give the chance to concede a counter-attack and we played in a very clever way. And you mentioned James Madison, what impact did he have on the team tonight? It was a great goal. Massive impact because as a personality, as a quality, because sometimes we forget the quality of the player. But Madison is a special player, it's a different player like like Kulusevski and it's very important for us, both. And you mentioned Kulusevski, he got a great reception from the fans. He looks in good shape, he was galloping down the pitch. It was great to see him. We celebrated him, everyone in the dressing room because he suffered a lot. I think he's example every one of us we have to learn from him, from his sufferance and very important if we play with him. And finally it's Chelsea the next game, Spurs don't have the best record against them how do you make sure that this game is a confidence boost to your side? I hope we can improve in the confidence, we can improve in belief in ourselves. I think we have a great team, great players, great qualities as a player as a guy because without the quality of the people you can't build a team. We suffer especially after the Aston Villa game and we started before Man United in different way. We react two times in Old Trafford and today with character. I love character, I love when my players show character because first of all we have to put the right behavior, the right attitude and then the qualities. Well, congratulations on the win. Yeah, Angelina Kelly there with Roberto De Spursi. You can get... It's a thing! I just said Roberto It's a thing You've got that in my head You've got that in my head that's your fault that's your fault well listen you said it I didn't say it bit of credit tonight though we played well in parts you played well I mean look it's a game I thought you'd win it's a game you had to win. But it's also a game you looked at, at 1-1 you're going oh my god, Osprey's going to do it again. And the goalkeeper I've got to say mate, Rushworth The goalkeeper's so important, mate. It's so important. The Mamouche goal should save and the one at the end. Ben Davies. You've got to save a pair of them but you deserve to win it over the course of the 90 minutes you're the better side but I'm still coming away going well, I mean it's still look, he said tonight Jase that we didn't play our best no, I know, you're better against Monday night I thought, I agree with that but we've got the result so that's the most important thing that's really they're kind of all that matters it's the most important thing football will never change the most important thing it's the it's the result the performance you hope will come eventually look you couldn't lose this game so you couldn't you couldn't draw it Joey I know it was a must win it was early days but it wasn't it felt like it was a it was a game commentary on the back of two very impressive performances two very impressive wins and they they got themselves back I mean I think it's fair to say that they probably deserve to at least get something on the sheet right no there's some decent chances I'm not convinced at the back or I'm not convinced of us at the back I think actually Tosin is actually probably one of our best centre-halves now but Van Hecker we played a three and Van Hecker mate he's in treacle mate he's playing in treacle well he looks all over the place and people say he's good on the ball he can't run it cost you two minutes it costs you too many you can get him behind him you can do him you know and the problem is he's a problem for us we sold Vuscovic and we've kept Van Hecker or we've signed Van Hecker sold Vuscovic mate Brighton have got way better player right well that's done that deal is done the most important thing today is that you had a win you got to win because this got to a level if you got beat tonight mate I feel like you're a bit down in the dumps mate oh no I'd love to see you I feel like you're a bit down in the dumps no no but I expect Everton on the last day of the season yeah no there's no joy I've got there's nothing there no I'd rather you got beat tonight last minute that's what they'd rather no don't take it personally Joe it's nothing against you I mean you know you don't look that oh look at this oh look you're disappointed no I just thought look the game's over hold on you want me to you want me now to say the game's over right what do you want me to say do you want me to say I want you to say I'm happy for you Joe say look look Jamie it's been tough for you it's been a tough gig all right you ain't one since May all right but that's your first win of the season you're into October well done come on I need a bit more than well done you're meant to be my mate all right and I've gone through it mate I've gone through it with spurs okay you ready Yeah. Well done, mate. You're such an egg. What more do you want? It's the best you get him. I'll take that. I'll take it. I'll take it and run. Take it and run. Take it and run. Just say, do you know what? Do what Jay said. He said, well done, mate. I said, well done, mate. I'll take that. I'll take that and run with it because at the weekend, mate, you're getting whooped. I know if we – well. Jay, up at Stamford a bridge the stadium of misery and pain for spurs yeah i mean that one obviously like 20 like 30 years over 30 years of pain yeah i know yeah one is it one you know i'm obviously like we we look better going forward marmou scores madison back dictate madison with madison first half is 45 millions absolutely i get i totally agree but he's up we got he's up against casado may snapping around his ankles trying to put his studs in around his feet yeah that's that's what he's got by the way how they didn't change that how they didn't recognize that that madison was allowed to have the freedom of the of of White Hart Lane or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and not have the nearest man close him down. He was brilliant first. Let's speak to James Madison because he is with Angelina Kelly. James, what a way to come back to playing for Spurs. Decent goal, happy with your performance? Decent? I'm joking, I'm joking. More than decent, I'll give you that. I'm only joking. No, really happy. I spoke with the manager this week and we both felt it was the right time for me to come back into the starting 11 after a few cameos off the bench and just managing my minutes a little bit just because of an up-and-down start to the season in terms of fitness but it felt like the right moment and I repaid that for him with a nice goal and it was just really nice to hang on at the end and show that resilience as well to get over the line, because we haven't won enough football matches at this stadium in the last couple of years. So that was a nice feeling at the end and hopefully we can build on that, yeah. Does it feel for the team like almost a bit of a weight has been lifted to get this first Premier League win tonight? Because you could sense it with the fans as well at full time the mixture of, you know, just relief and jubilation. Yeah, all of them emotions, you go through all of them in a football match and Coventry were a good side, they played really well today. I said to Frank Lampard after that, the side was tough to play against them. Sometimes everyone thinks that you're at home against the newly promoted side, it's going to be a walk in the park but they can sometimes be the toughest stays so you do have to stay resilient especially when they get the goal back and we have to go again to try and find it from somewhere, the momentum to try and get another goal and Mamouche pops up with it for us. So a lot of positives to take and like I said we haven't won enough football matches here and that's clear and that's simple and that's something we have to improve on if we want to be at the other end of the table so hopefully that's a good starting block for us and also I would want to ask you what kind of impact do you want to have on this team now that you're back you fit you've got a good suntan from Marbella, you're ready to go. What impact do you want to have now that you're back fit for the Spurs team? I've never doubted my quality, I just want to be available. My main focus is just being fit and available. It's been a tough 18 months for me, I think it's been nearly 18 months since my last start so that was a special feeling for me today to be out there from the start because it's been some dark days in not in Marbella but previously and I had all my family and all my friends who obviously are from Coventry where I grew up here today so that was a special moment for me there'll be a few angry with me up in the box and I go and see them after but it was all worth it yeah well thank you very much and thank you for keeping Jamie O'Hara calm with that win tonight yeah James Madison there with Angelina Kelly massive result and well played to him by the way he Best play in the pitch first half, no doubt about it. Dictated play. Got a really lovely well-taken goal. It's one of those... There's a bit of muscle memory about that. How many times you walk onto those balls in training? Like that. Just whip it and that muscle memory is still there. And just... There's a stat for you. He's scored more goals than any other player from outside the box since 2018. He's got 21 goals from outside the box. He's got more goals than anyone else I'm amazed at that and still he's not played for 18 months he's hardly played I mentioned muscle memory I did not expect that muscle memory to be lasting 18 months but it's a lovely well taken goal it's not that skill i don't want to take him away that's an e that's a skill you expect him to hit tell me he's walked onto it's a lovely pace yeah he's got the whip he's a love position yeah and if he gets it right you back him yeah you'd yeah you back him at a minimum hit the target right yeah it's a lovely will take gobb he's best player on the pitch you dictate your play um all right if i'm frank i'm looking at that and i i said to you because we you and i did the watch long on the uh the sports by locking a youtube channel i'll send you got they've got to deal with him because somehow they've got to deal with him and they weren't and he was dropping into areas in pockets to deal with someone who's got like kind of a free roll no he did have a he had he played 10 but he played wherever he wanted basically they just said Corn you knock about wherever you want drop into space drop into areas pick the ball pick the ball up be his best player in the pitch and in the end not surprisingly he tired his influence on the game become less and less and then he came off but on a personal level and a professional I'm really pleased with him because I've been injured I know it's likely to be out for 18 months I've been in those shoes It's terrible He mentioned dark days There are dark days There are really, really dark days when you've been out that long so uh congratulations to him best brand of pitch in the third he probably won there i'm guessing one man in the match he has to win it yeah i would have thought so i don't know i can't think of anyone else that had the influence on the game that no i can't figure no one else shone out no did they no it was the only one kudos played well kudos did have a good game actually he did but that but for me he was he's the he was the difference maker yeah all right get your calls in you want to have your say on tonight's show spurs are back 0-3 717 double two double three double four you listen to the sports bar on talk sport with talk sport bet bet 10 pounds to get 100 free spins on big bass football bonanza claim yours at talksportbet .com slash sports bar new customers only tinsies apply 18 plus gambling by dog spurs are back Tottenham 3, Coventry 1. Yeah, big win. Let's go to some calls. Emilio, the Spurs fan. Right, Emilio? Emilio? Yes. Yes, boys. How are you feeling? mate absolutely buzzing have you been at the game up mate yeah just been to the game down the high road now good result good result mate take it all day long we were we was on the uh we was on the watch along the other day for man united um and and as i said encouraging signs have a good sign you know i mean we played well i went with my uncle today for the first time well he's his first time in 10 years i'll go quite often but i managed to drag him to a game finally tonight and we won 3-1 so no complaints i thought matters i thought matters was quality as well he played really well he tied in the second half but it's obviously understandable right honestly have you heard yourself honestly i just i know it's like and how excited you are right i know i know no no i know but listen to you it it it's it's actually appalling that you should feel so excited about this and I get it and understand it and I don't blame you but listen to what you're saying. Listen to what you're saying. You love Spurs. Come on now. Come on now. Listen, well done. Congratulations. You love it mate. Come on. Now I love it when you get beat. Give us a bit of credit. We've won. I said well done. But here's the fallout from this and Spurs fans is going to be such an overreaction of like about it feels and you should actually in the cold when you go home at night go in a cold go in the bathroom shut the door turn the lights out sit in the bathroom right and just say to yourself yeah what are you doing where where where have we been that i now have to celebrate this like that we are back it's like it's It's been disgusting. I've got a stat for you, all right? Ready for this? Go on. New stat. Kevin O'Connell. Who? Kevin O'Connell. Who's that? He's the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. There we go. He still has more victories more victories at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than your manager. Mate, it's a good start. It's got three victories right yeah so it was a good start if i'm kevin o'connell i'm sitting in america somewhere going yeah shucks shucks man yeah that robert dispersi man he's you gotta go gotta get gotta go man he's gonna break my record man let's go to archie he's a spurs fan arch all right arch hi guys you're right all right well done there's the fireworks yeah got the in the end it was better because we got the two goals to to really settle the nerves in the stadium and you could feel a bit more comfort coming into the game with not really that long left but I think overall it was an encouraging performance but I do think we performed much better away at Old Trafford despite obviously not getting a goal right but Arch who cares we won 3-1 Arch who cares I know but you can't you can't be the best team on the pitch every single week right sometimes but you made every single week you never are we've been playing a bit we ain't got the results Jamie I think yeah we won 3-1 but I think with Spurs especially this season it's really important and vital that we look at the bigger picture look I think part of the reason maybe why it didn't in my opinion look like a great performance is partly down to the manager he played Archie Grace so narrow inside we did we have no right back in the first half we played with a back three he played him there inside he played in midfield but we had no right back so we didn't stretch anybody um we couldn't stretch Coventry played too narrow I think I heard the commentator especially in the second half so we're trying to play that sort of Ajax system that sort of Barcelona system of keeping the ball playing a narrow system Coventry were just sitting back waiting to pounce obviously they got the equaliser but I even have a slightly better standard I don't think we would want today. Oh mate come on give us some credit Arch! Arch! Arch! No sorry mate! Sorry! Arch! Arch! Arch! I do think that he will come back. Arch! Shut up! Archie shut up you're talking guff you're talking absolute garbage mate right one Archie Gray played centre midfield all right we played three at the back and Van Hecker we played in the free all right so you got that wrong and we played a system that worked we won 3-1 we dominated possession in the first half madison was getting in great areas but jamie listen to me in the first half we were so narrow we couldn't break down coventry you know apart from madison whipping one in the top corner by the way the first goal we scored outside the box for almost three years apparently which is a disgrace in my o
