"YOU'VE GOTTA GIVE CREDIT!" Sean Dyche PRAISES Man City for performing DESPITE the outside noise!
Sean Dyche and a Man City supporters' leader on City performing amid outside noise and referee controversy
The show discusses Manchester City performing despite outside noise, with Sean Dyche praising their focus and unity and criticising a soft sending-off. A City supporters' representative says the team can only do their job and fans will not turn their backs on the club, while the performance is strongly praised.
- The sending-off was far too soft and spoiled the game as a contest — He loved the game until the red card, enjoyed it less afterwards and thought the dismissal was diabolical
- Manchester City deserve credit for performing amid the outside noise — It is hard for a manager and players to stay focused, money does not block everything out, and they stayed true to the badge, each other and their pride
- Players should dig in and fight for the club when it is under pressure — They have had contracts, moves and money, so now it is payback time on the pitch
- City fans and the team should not lie down at Anfield to suit the outside narrative — Liverpool fans called them classless, but City's players have no control over the Premier League case and can only do their job by playing football
- The first yellow card was very soft and the red card affected the game — The second yellow may have been a yellow, but the first one was not
- Playing against ten men does not guarantee a result; you still have to perform — Spurs went down to ten men and came from 1-0 behind to equalise against United at the weekend
- Liverpool's coach did not react quickly enough to the sending-off — He should have adjusted sooner to the fact that they were down to ten men
- City's three goals were among the best he has seen in one game — The creation and finishes from Haaland, Doku and Cherki were all outstanding
- Haaland is the best striker in world football — He says Haaland's finishing is the best in the game
- City fans have no reason to turn their backs on the club or the owners — The owners have delivered on their promises and never lied to the fans; the supporters will stay through thick and thin even if the club is relegated

It was bizarre, actually. Bizarre to watch. Six wins at a six for City, but the shadow of doubt is hanging over the result you've got to say. So what did you think watching it? I mean, yourself and watching the game. I gave my own take on it yesterday. I loved the game itself. I thought the sending off spoiled the game. I didn't enjoy it as much after that. Having said that, I was marvelling at the quality I don't know what's going on in football. I bleed and moan about it all the time. That's such a soft sending off that. Diabolical. Diabolical. Do you remember referees allowed to use their own nails a little bit. Now it's almost like at times they sort of protect themselves by going behind the law and the wording of the law. You don't need to do that though because it's just a bit common sense there when you go, if I'm going to be like I go, don't book him. Don't book him. Don't book him. Don't book him because it doesn't need it and it killed. Well, it didn't kill the game but it did. Get the games over as a contest. I mean look, I know the game's changing and all that but come on. I was like, oh, I like players. Players need to stand up a bit more as well. Literally, by the way. Yeah, yeah. It's getting mad. We had Dermot Gallagher on yesterday and I said to him, Dermot, there's no such thing as a foul now. Everything's a yellow card. Yeah, it's bizarre. It's bizarre. And the competitive edge, we've got to be careful because if it carries on the competitive edge and the hustle and bustle of football, I'll start diminishing even further. And if it goes, I don't know where it's going to end. But anyway, let's get that one. Let's park that. Look, but the noise around Man City is still not easy as a manager and a group of players to concentrate and focus. I know everyone says, you know, the usual thing, they get paid a fortune. It doesn't mean that it just bluffs everything else out of it. So credit to them for performing that's that's the first thing you know for the managers staying true to the team and the team trains staying true to the badge and each other and what you said their own pride as well it looked to me like grip players who actually went come on let's go and have it you know and we had nowhere near the same magnitude as what possibly because we must say it's still an if yeah and see but we had it happen and it bonded us as a group where we went right come on let's dig in yeah yeah my point the effort lads was was look you all wanted your contracts you wanted your move here you want to nuke it you want the money well look now it's payback in middle ways and when we're gonna have to dig in and fight for the club even more than we usually do and i think that was a magic thing for me as a manager to witness and go through even though it ended up hard but you know what i mean so i can only imagine this is a bigger version axman city currently after all their successes and pep leaving new manager a massive story so to stay focused on what is the truth in what's right in front of you and of course when they've all been dispersed yeah don't forget they only come back for a few days i know so they're about to pull that together quickly then you've got to give credit forget about all the noise forget about all what might be just to them players out there performing then I think you've got to give credit to that I certainly would no don't disagree Tommy the result might feel tainted some but that can't be true to City fans as well surely not delighted to see joining us now the General Secretary of the City Official Supporters Club is Kevin Parker. Kevin, a very good morning. Thanks for joining us. How are you this morning? I'm very good, thank you. Morning, Shabose. Are you well? We're very well, Kevin. Very well. Thank you very much, as I say, for taking the time. He's sitting on a proper Like a proper, you know, like the Recaros or whatever. And you're also sporting the club colours I have to see there, Kevin. One thing, you mentioned, you probably heard Sean mention it there kevin you know it was a we didn't really know i thought we're going into the unknown relatively at the weekend but the one thing i think the city fans who i've got the sympathy i think of everybody and so they should have because the city fans have not done anything wrong you must have been delighted yourself with the reaction from your team yeah absolutely listen i don't think city fans do have the sympathy of everybody else certainly the liverpool fans were on yesterday weren't you know, saying that we're a classless bunch and that, you know, we didn't know how to react. Of course, what we should have done, we should have just gone to Anfield and lay down and let this whole narrative allow Liverpool to run through us and score three or four goals and then everybody in the country would have been delighted about that. That's never going to happen and I think Sean covered it exactly. These are very, very good players and they will have been motivated by a lot of the noise, as the coach mentioned on Sunday around them. But of course they want to continue to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League. They They have absolutely no control over what's happening with the Premier League and the club, none at all. All they can do is go out and do what they're paid for, which is to play football. also accept that the game was impacted by descending off and whilst the second yellow probably was a yellow, the first one was very soft. But it doesn't always necessarily mean that just because you're playing against a team that has got 10 men, that the result is going to go for you. As City proved at Manchester United, on to win that game against United again who again I accept are a very poor team but against United again at the weekend Spurs went down to 10 men having been losing 1-0 and they came back and they scored an equaliser so it is still you still have to perform and listen I'm not a football coach you would probably say that the Liverpool coach didn't quite react as quickly as he should have done on Sunday to deal with the fact that they went down to 10 men but all City can do is do their job I thought they did it fantastically well probably the best three goals I've seen in one game you know watching City for a very very long time I mean all three of the girls were unbelievable in terms of the creation the initial that and the finish from Haaland which you know the best striker in world football the goal from Doku and then that finish from Cherki I think I think Pong is still sliding along the East Lanx Road I think it's funny Kevin I said yesterday when I come on yesterday six o'clock I said maybe the best three finishes I've seen in any game and as soon as they came out of my mouth Kevin I was quickly reminded by my countrymen up north of Scotland's three goals against Denmark which probably just shaded it but I was going to ask you Kevin if I may Sean was saying there about the galvanising and the team getting together and United has won which it certainly looks as though they did at the weekend what about the supporters how are the supporters feeling right now General I know you can't speak for all of them but you'll have a feeling for it mate yeah listen generally i think um i think there is no reason for us at the moment and people will say that we're blind and that we're just accepting what's being said there is absolutely no reason for us as support we as a starting point you know we support this team so I and the club I started watching Manchester City back in the 70s when Peter Swales was the owner you know and then we had John I'm going to have tax in Shinnawatra and eventually these owners. So my history of support in this club is, is my feeling in my heart about Manchester city to a certain extent who the owners are, are not really important. But these owners have been absolutely unbelievable for us. They've never ever let us down. They've always delivered what they've promised. and up until now until the end of this process let's see they've never lied to us so why all of a sudden should we as supporters suddenly decide to turn our back on the football club we're not going to do that and listen people are talking about well at the end of this process if you still found guilty then you could be relegated to the championship or you know division two or even worse than that you know the reality is we don't really care this is our football club we will be there through thick and thin and of course we would prefer as supporters at the end of the process that the club as they promise will be found guilty but if they're not then we'll deal with it but at the moment we have to show our support for the club but what that means is we will go out and show our support for the team. Good stuff, Kevin. Thanks for joining us this morning. Appreciate your time. My pleasure.
