"WE'LL GO UNBEATEN & WIN THE APPEAL!" Man City Fan makes BOLD CLAIM over their GUILTY CHARGES!
Man City fan predicts an unbeaten season and winning the appeal, with talk also covering added time, Haaland’s injury and Guehi’s display
This talkSPORT phone-in reacts to Man City’s 3-2 win. Fans and the host question the 12 minutes of added time, worry about injuries, and criticise Guehi, while Roj backs Anderson and Maresca and makes a bold claim that City will go unbeaten and win their appeal.
- The 12 minutes of added time were ridiculous — No one knew where the 12 minutes came from and the whole stadium was shocked; City also lost players to injury during that added time
- Haaland may have a metatarsal injury and could be out for around six weeks — He thinks Haaland kicked the bottom of a defender’s boot; if it is a metatarsal problem, it is a six-week injury and a major striker issue for City
- Guehi is looking very shaky and does not suit Maresca’s build-up style — Guehi made the error for the first goal, played bad passes out from the back and gave away a penalty; without the injuries in defence, he could have been taken off at the hour mark
- Anderson is the best midfielder in the Premier League this season and should not be compared with the Liverpool player — Anderson has changed City’s midfield and looks nothing like last season; Roj would even pay Forest another £60m on top for him
- City will go unbeaten this season and win the appeal — He says the information comes from very reliable sources; he also says it will make other fans’ heads fall off
- The appeal outcome is unknowable and City could still win or get a different verdict — He says everyone is guessing and there is no certainty, so it is wrong to say City will definitely win
- City’s bench is far stronger than in the last two or three seasons and gives fans more belief — There are now more attacking game-changers on the bench, unlike the last two or three seasons, so fans feel confident even if City go a goal or two down
- Maresca has been excellent, does not overthink and makes common-sense changes — Although City lost to PSG, his half-time changes changed the game; he makes the obvious adjustments that everyone can see
- Maresca has handled the outside noise very well — He has stuck to the message that the noise is not his problem and his job is to pick the best team and get the best result; so far it is working

Evening Jones. How are you? >> Lightly. I'm all right. Um, scary moments at the end, but you was looking comfortable till the uh Mark Gay tackle. >> Yeah. Yeah. That that I mean it's that's the Premier League for you, isn't it? We go from what you know two minutes earlier we've maybe gone 4-1 up with the Erling Harland goal with the offside for for Enzo and then two minutes later there's a penalty up the other end and it's 3-2 and that's how it you know the game flips, doesn't it? And it it did get a bit nervy but for me where this referee got 12 minutes of injury time I know we go okay he's like okay it's injury time like but we lost three players through injury in injury time Harland Semeno and and Jai also feeling his hamstring now that how how damaging could that be now for this next three four weeks for City if we've lost all of those players um and it's like where did 12 minutes come from? Don't know. Do you know what? We all said the same in the office. >> We're watching the game and everyone's gone 12 minutes. >> I mean, >> THE WHOLE STADIUM G the whole stadium. Gas with like it was like shock. >> Do you know what? Right. I don't know if you saw the Chelsea game, right? Um Martinez, the keeper, went down injured and there was only 11 minutes of of of added time, >> mate. Premier League are after Man City, mate. Premier League were after him. GET USED TO IT, PAL. [laughter] GET used to it. Every second. Every second, mate. They're going to be looking at that clock. They're going, "Right, let's let's add this on. Let's add this on. You're going to be playing game for 120 minutes. >> Can't start rumors like that." >> No, mate. I'm telling you, the Premier League are after you. >> Can't stop. >> They can't have you is winning the league. >> No, I No, I agree. It's been It's been like that for years to be honest. We felt like like we you know, look, we get some we get some we some go against you, don't they? But like I said, the 12 minutes is ridiculous, but the cost of it for us this time is is ridiculous. And the what's worrying is it's Harland. For me, it looks like a metatarsal. It looks like he's kicked the bottom of the defender's boot. >> So, if it's something like that, it's a it's a six week injury. And then he' be our next striker that also got injured. So, it could be a massive problem for us. >> Well, we'll see. We'll see. But >> I I I agree with him. I don't know where 12 minutes come from. >> No, I didn't. >> The whole office went what? >> Yeah, I know >> what I'm I'm >> Let's hear from Man City Bosenzo Moresco. He gave his reaction to his size 3-2 win over Ripic. >> Yeah, very happy. very happy with the performance with the three points. I think uh we control the game 95 minutes we could score probably some more goals to finish the game but then at the end we concede the penalty and we suffer a little bit the last minutes but it's part of the game. >> Yeah. What about the Mark Gay incident Lee? Um he's had a few this season, hasn't he? >> Lee, >> not just the penalty incident, his general play today was and don't get me wrong, since he's come in, he's been amazing for us, but he does feel like this the team is still trying to get used to how Messa wants them to play at the back. We're doing really well going forward, but we still feel quite vulnerable. Um, and I don't know that it's suited gay quite so much so far the way that the way he's wanted us to play. But I'm sure he'll settle down. He's an absolutely top class defender, but you know, today was one of those where, you know, if we hadn't have already had a couple of injuries in the back line, I could have seen him getting hooked at the hour mark because he was literally I mean, he the first goal he made the error for, he gave away some really bad passes out of the back line and then obviously gives the penalty away. And you know, that could be the difference, can't it? At the end, a game we should have been comfortable in. He could have easily ended up dropping some valuable points there. So, I think he'll settle down. He he is a quality player and he's been brilliant, but he does feel a bit ropy at the minute. >> Lee, thanks for call. I'm going to go to Ro. He's a Man City fan as well. All right, Ro. >> Roj. >> Yeah. All right, guys. How are you? >> All right, mate. Are you happy? >> Yeah. No, no, no. I'm very happy. I'm just laughing about, you know, when Lee said, "Oh, yeah, it's a metatarsal." I mean, how can you see that? >> Yeah, I know. >> Dr. Lee on the case. [laughter] He's kicked if he's kicked the bottom of his or what? >> That hurts anyway. That hurts. That hurts. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And I mean it hurts. No, but I mean look, I mean, you know, first of all, you know, going back to Liverpool guy, you know, comparing Verd to Anderson, I mean, that's absolute slam. And I don't want to let that stand because Anderson is the best midfielder in the Premier League this season. So, >> he's one off definitely one off. Yeah. No doubt. >> Uh, you know, so there shouldn't be any comparison like for him to go side by side or ever. I mean, Anderson has changed the way we play. I mean, if you look at that midfield now compared to last season, unbelievable player. I mean, I would even say, you know, pay, you know, pay Forest another 60 million on top just for the just for the sake of it. But, um, no, what I, you know, really wanted to say, um, is that, you know, again, all the other fans, you know, ringing up and saying, "Oh, we're not we're not concerned, whatever." But, uh, what's going to happen is we're going to go uh, you know, we're going to go unbeaten this season. We're going to win the appeal and all the heads are going to go flying off. You're going to you're going to you're going to go unbeaten. Let me get this straight. And then win the appeal. >> That's correct. Yes. >> Where you getting that from? You just said Hold on. You just had a propet Lee, right, for being a doctor. Now you've come here pretending to be a lawyer. [laughter] >> Where info from? >> I mean, from very reliable sources on there. Here we go. Here we go. Most matees. [clears throat] >> I think there's more chance of I mean Oh. Look, in the end of the day, uh, you know, where the appeal is going, I think, you know, we can all agree that it's been a fast for years on years on years. I think all of us are, uh, you know, wanting to get, uh, you know, some sort of verdict and some sort of result and to just >> I don't know if you really want to wait as long as you can, don't you? >> Can't keep kicking the can down the road, mate. That they tried to do it enough, whoever's >> No, but the longer it goes on, the better it looks for Man City, right? Cuz it's only going to look bad, right? They're going to get six. >> I mean, of course it does. Yeah. I mean, of course it does, but you know, I mean, in a way, they at Mansfield Town would be great. No. What do you think? >> Well, I mean, you've been there more recently than we have, but [laughter] >> Yeah. I mean, I said, no one knows what's going to happen, honestly. I We're all guessing here. We're all guessing. And and there is an appeal, you know. Who knows? May maybe Man City do win an appeal. Maybe they'll get a different verdict. Maybe there is thrown out. I don't know. >> Yeah. What at the moment? At the moment, you're looking very good, right? >> Oh, on the pitch. Yeah. But also there is a part of me that looks at Man City and go and here's the thing that surprised me right you've scored you've only conceded seven goals whenever I look at Man City I do feel you're a little bit vulnerable defensively but like seven it's a goal a game right you conceded at the moment >> yeah if you look at our team now right you know if you look at our team now um you know compared to the last two or three seasons right now you look at the bench and like the last two seasons like we never had any firepower off the bench >> but now you look at the bench, you're like, "Oh, you know, there's a Cherokee on there, there's an Nai on there, there is a, you know, there's a Docky on there." So, it's it's, you know, it's totally different. And now you know the confidence you know the confidence is uh you know it's different I think with us fans as well because we know okay you know we might go one or two nil down but we know when you know when we make change and and can I just say Mesa has been absolutely unbelievable so far because every time he's done changed I know you know I know we lost against PSG but the changes he's made at halftime changed the whole game and that game could have finished poor all I mean of course we lost you know I mean you know props to Paris they were a fantastic team but I'm I'm I'm I'm over the moon with Maresa how he never overthinks things and just makes the changes that everyone thinks about you know and just have some common sense to it. The other thing that's impressed me about >> Roj is he's in his presses like dealing with what the noise around. He's I think he's come out of it like you come away going >> dealt with that really well. It's not he's writing what he says and I don't want to quote or misquote him but paraphrasing along the lines of look that ain't my problem. My problem my my job is to go put the best team out and get the best result. Yeah, that's that's all I can do. And I think he's stuck to that mantra and at the moment so far so good.
