"BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY!" Jason Cundy DOUBLES DOWN on CONTROVERSIAL Florian Wirtz claim!
Jason Cundy doubles down on Florian Wirtz criticism, saying he is struggling with the Premier League
The show looks at Liverpool's big win over LASK and Manchester City's heavy home defeat by PSG, with the main focus on Florian Wirtz. Jason Cundy argues Wirtz is struggling with the pace and physicality of the Premier League and may soon be under threat, while others defend Virgil van Dijk and criticise Frimpong, with Joshua backing Bradley and Koumas.
- Bradley and Florian Wirtz both played very well and made a difference; Bradley was a threat beyond his hat-trick and Wirtz helped control the game — Bradley was dangerous one-v-one and in behind; Wirtz found pockets and helped the team control the match.
- Wirtz has not adjusted to the pace and physicality of the Premier League; doing well away at LASK in the Champions League is not enough — LASK are ranked far lower than Liverpool in Europe and Liverpool were expected to win comfortably; the Premier League is much faster and more physical.
- I have seen enough of Wirtz and it is now very hard to defend him — It is not his first season but his second, so he should know what the Premier League is about; the next six months are huge for his Liverpool career.
- Wirtz is running out of time and his place could be in jeopardy, possibly leaving him on the bench — He has not consistently turned games around with goals and assists; when the squad is fully fit, competition could cost him his starting spot.
- Wirtz's ability is not in question, but the Premier League demands different traits and his lightweight flicking approach does not work — In a 50-50 with Elliot Anderson, Wirtz tried to nick and flick it while Anderson went in physically; that summed up his Premier League showings.
- Van Dijk's best days are behind him and he has always been overrated in the Premier League — After he came off the bench, LASK scored soon after and then scored more; a centre-back should not be exposed like that against LASK.
- Van Dijk should not be blamed for all the goals; there was nothing he could do about some of them — The first goal may have involved him, but two or even three of the goals were not his fault.
- Frimpong is the only defender I have seen who can score and still be the worst player on the pitch; he was involved in several goals conceded — His positioning was poor, he failed to spot runners as the last man, and about three of the goals came down his side.
- Frimpong is fine going forward but defends like a headless chicken; Bradley is Liverpool's best right-back — Frimpong does not know where he is or what he is doing defensively; once Bradley is back from injury he should be first choice.
- Koumas is like a traditional old-school English number nine and deserves more chances — He runs constantly, presses hard, gives defenders no time on the ball, leads the team's high press, and deserved his goal.

Manchester City got humbled 4-2 at home by PSG, but Liverpool won 6-3, but some problems at the back still we get jammer's thoughts on that we're joined by french football uh expert julien lorraine uh calls on all of tonight's action please oh three seven one seven double two double three two first they were actually smashed last early in the Champions League until Virgil van Dijk stepped on the pitch so remind ourselves that sounded right here on TalkSport Koumass to the follower, Barkela has steered it in. Liverpool have scored two in a minute and Bradley Barkela is off the mark. Picks up Barkela, great first touch, he rolls it past the keeper, it's 3-0 to Liverpool and that is a goal of top class in quality. Did Bango cut to get back, Yubicic has scored with his first touch, well what an introduction that is. Rimpom's low ball lead and Bradley Barkela is there to complete his hat-trick. Low ball into Koumast, through the legs of the goalkeeper. This one is going to count. Hit by Flecker again! They've got another one back. Plenty of attacking positives for Andoni Eriota to take the finishes last three, Liverpool six. Yeah, that's how it sounded live here on TalkSport. Liverpool, Sandoni Eriota spoke to the metre after then about how impressed he was with brandy bow color and for him who votes I'm a really happy for Bradley because as you say you know you were asking me yesterday about him not making the numbers also Florian and I think both of them today played really, really well. I think they made a difference. Bradley, apart from the hat-trick, I think he was a threat, always 1v1, threatening him behind and also flow. Helped us a lot to control the game, finding a pocket and I'm happy for both of them. What difference can it make to both players? I think their confidence for sure is very good, I think they feel that we trust them a lot but at the end to enjoy a little bit you know in playing in the Champions League away I think it's going to be very good for them yes Liverpool boss Andoni Iriola there big enough and I don't blame him I mean look that's his job it's a game Liverpool should win they won it comfortably in the end the scoreline will suggest that still defensively that's a disappoint it's one of those it feels a bit come away takes the shine off what was a really excellent first-half performance. Gemma, I'm going to ask you about Bradley Bacola. Gets a hat-trick, can't argue with that. Turned it on, done very well. But you expect that Liverpool to win. But the Florian Wurtz one, and that's the one where I think he really needs to do his work, where he's going to get a tune out of him. Because all well and good doing it away at Lask in the Champions League, right? And this feels to me as if he is a Champions League player. The pace is a little bit slow. It's very different. Premier League, the physicality of the Premier League, the pace of the Premier League, which he's struggled to adjust to. Let's start with Bacola. We know he's got a point on it, but I mean, look, you can't argue with the victory, but press conference about the pair of them. Listen, I said this game is important for the pair of them to have a good showing. Yes, it's Lask. Yes, we're expecting to win, but I still want you to get your confidence up and have a good showing to try and nullify the talks around the pair of them. Bacola's all right. No, no, Bacola, yeah, I've got a force. There's no fingers being pointed at this direction. We know that, but I'm saying for the money that you're coming on for, the price tag that you've got, everyone's expecting to hit the ground running, unfortunately. And I think this was a great time and a great game for them to showcase their stuff to say, oh, this is why I'm worth what I'm worth what you got paid. Barco had done that. I thought he scored on that trick, no more you can do. And he did look threatening. From reverse looked good. He did. He played well, but again, you're expecting that against a team that's ranked 99th in Europe and Liverpool are ranked fourth. So you're expecting to go there and win and win comfortably. Equals that trick. Florent got assists. So I thought, okay, yeah, good. I know he can't do any more than that right but I think I've seen enough of Virts I think I've seen enough I made my mind up It's very difficult to defend it now It's not like it's his first season it's his second season now he knows what the Premier League is all about so it is hard to defend these next six months down yeah it's enormous for his Liverpool career it's hard to defend his they said they're enormous is game at the most., And I think it could be all on. If he gets that confidence, is it going to be a drastic difference? I think he will become, I'm starting to lean further into that side right now than any other. Riverts doesn't do that well the thing is I have seen glimpses I have seen some of it but sometimes ultimately you've come away the game and it's done nothing but if those chances did get put away you would have a lot more system people talking about a lot But I think once that squad's fully fit again and he's got a lot more better options and players behind him in front of him. Is he running out of time? Oh, yeah. He's running out of time Not for, look, he's a great player. No one can deny him. No, no, no, no one's doubting his ability. That's not in question. The problem I have with him is that in the Premier League, you need to be built of different things and I looked at there's a challenge that Elliot Anderson put on him on the edge of the box in that first half there's a 50-50 he's tried to nick it and flick it Elliot Anderson gone in there and gone do you know what but they're two I know, of course they are. They're two different players. You've got one who loves to challenge, exactly, and you've got one who's... But that kind of summed up, it summed up his, for me, his Premier League appearances. Trying to nick and flick Yeah, but you wouldn't have saw a David Silva trying two foot. But David Silva run again. David Silva could run again. When you come off the pitch at Man City, you knew David Silva was on the pitch. Come off again. How many times he ever lasts 90 minutes in the Premier League I say he's running out of time yes but like I said we know he's a great player and no one's taking away I'm not saying he's not but I think he's running out of time for where when everyone's back that his place may be in jeopardy that he will be finding himself on the bench if he does not start turning games and turning his attributes and stats you know what we point for score goals and assist right listen talk about Van Dijk right I think he's his best days are behind him, never say he's not been a brilliant centre-half he has, I think he's overrated, always has been in the Premier League in my opinion but he come off the bench in the 62nd minute, a minute later and 63 they score 74 and 77, and I'm thinking Van Dijk's a centre-half, playing against Lask. Yeah. I'll be in his defence here. I'll be in his defence here. It wasn't all his fault and some of the goals, there's nothing he could do about it. The The first one, but two of them, I'll go far as saying three. I think this is the only player I've ever seen who can score a goal as a defender or right-back, score a goal, get to his sis, but be also the worst player on the pitch. It was Frimpong. I think he gave, well, he's down to three of the goals. One, it was his positioning. What hitter? He got up like a summoners, unbelievable. It's a hitter. I just, I just, I'm thinking that can't be him. He'd leap like a salmon. He'd leap like a salmon, but some of his positioning, like, you know, being the last man, being further back when you're seeing all the, all the way across the line, players running inside him and you're not seeing it. It's like sometimes when he's playing, it's like a Stevie wonder like he can't see who's movement and where he is at on the pitch and players get behind him so easy and three of the goals were on his side more or less By the way what about Deerbanger the one that set up the goals? He said all three of them up what about what about that their first goal wow unbelievable it was unbelievable it's the second goal actually i'm looking at van dyke come out and close but yes he was um yeah dear but he he had at hand his fingerprints all over let's go to the lines jam oh three seven one seven double two double three number four joshua it's a little plan joshua welcome to the show good evening good evening lads you okay all right mate oh good mate i'm good um do you basically just well jazz what you said mate is spring bunnies i don't know do you know what i mean i it's he's good he's all right going forward but defending is like a headless chicken do you know what i mean i don't know where he is what are you doing at right back what's going to happen at right back when bradley come who is your best right absolutely bradley all day long bradley all day long is that the injury picked up against arsenal yeah it's the same one same one and he's been out for that that time but i think January, there'll be some movement and there'll be definitely incomings then going on. Hold on, hold on look at your face, you know something didn't you? I don't know, I'm just saying you may use it. Gemma, look at me. Hold on, Gemma, you can't smirk at me like that. I think we may see some players be going back to Germany. What do you know? I don't know anything. I think some players may be going back to Germany or a player may be finding their way back. Yeah. Joshua, Joshua Young. Everyone was calm and composed with Araujo and Jackie and then all of a sudden those two went off and it was like panic stations. For five to ten minutes, Everyone was just either hoof the ball or didn't know where they were. The pitch looked huge as soon as those two came. I don't know why, but that's just my view on it. I thought Simakas needs to start more as well. I thought we had an unbelievable game with Marcola. And Rio and Kumas as well. I mean, what a show they put on tonight as God, you know what I mean? For their age, you can't really fault them. Koumas, I really, really do like Koumas. He's like a traditional old school English number nine. He runs around, he works hard, he doesn't give the defence and defenders a minute on the ball and once he starts Big hands in the first goal Yeah, yeah Once he Incomoa down the right and then Koumas sits up because really well and what I watch and I see when he goes he goes with with with a ferocity and the team follows behind him and that starts off that press high up and that's how he scored a couple of goals and won the ball back. He had two disallowed in here for offside margin. They were offside, but... They were, but I was happy to see him Yeah, he gets his goal. He deserves his goal. Absolutely deserves his goal.
