Let's focus on Brighton, Cass. >> Yeah, >> high-f flying Brighton. They won 2-0 away at Sunderland to make it three straight Premier League wins without conceding a goal despite having to play more than half hour with 10 men. Um they had a red card. Strike was sent off um in the second half by for Brighton, sorry. They cemented their hold in the third place and boosted an already healthy three points tally to 13. >> Yeah, >> you mentioned it before the international break. You mentioned it before they beat Arsenal as well >> in fairness to you, but do you think they're actually in a a European football race? >> Yeah, I do. Um, I mean, you can go early and you can take a chance, but I look at this Brighton team and I think, you know, the way they're playing, think of the results they've had. Okay, you can go Coventry away 5-nil. Villa at home 4-0, Arsenal at home 3-0, Sunderland away 2-0. They lost at Chelsea 4-3. You know, just think of all these type of results they're having and the and the amount of goals they're scoring. Maxim Dipo has come in and done really really well, has fitted him immediately. I think Pascal Gross comes to back to the club even though he's 30 mid30s has done brilliantly well. I think Van Bugen the goalkeeper has looked really good and that's a part of having people like Jack Inshawwood Ma um FE Aziz who came from Milw for about 157 million pound they've got these injuries that can come back as well this Brighton team you better take seriously we better because that they for me are going to get a lot of big results along the course of the season they really are. >> I mean can they maintain it? Well, we we we don't know that, but what we do know, they're a very high intensity team. They play really fast, fluid football. They can play quite direct when need be. They got some great serious, you know, pros at the uh at an age where, you know, dunk, think of dunk. You know, he feels like he three years ago he was in his final year and he still does a great job when called upon. If he's called upon, he'll he'll deliver and he's a really good they've lost players like Van. You think of all the players that have left Brian as well, Shabban. Yeah. some players that they got big money for. Um, this Brighton team I think are going to go way deeper than a lot of people think. Um, >> still setting third in the table. >> Yeah, setting third. Look, them and Brenford have done brilliantly and I add adding leads I thought were really good yesterday as well. Um, there's some really good sides that are punching way above their weight. Way above. And Brighton are the for me are the are the ones that I look at and go, do you know what? They can really go on a run. And I wouldn't be surprised if they made Champions League football at all. >> Wow. >> Cuz I think they I look at all the teams I've watched them play so far and they've taken a good few of them apart. >> Yeah. I mean, consider Manchester United and Spurs are so dire and you look at teams >> Well, they beat Manchester United in the cup, didn't they, when they were two nil down and Brenford and Brighton, it's Yeah, they're they're so much better. And they don't fear the big cliff. >> It feels It feels really quiet about Brighton. It really does, you know, but then you could say the same about Brenford when they go really well and they are now again, you know, the quiet and I and I think I've looked at Brighton as much as I see Brenford and I know they're going to win games. I knew they'd beat Spurs when they played Spurs because of the way they play. These two teams are going to upset and win games against the, you know, they're unfashionable clubs in some way, but they are very capable of, you know, giving someone a bloody nose. That's what they do. >> How much of that is down to Herzo? because we focus so much on the Brighton model and the success, you know, of the club, you know, a very stable club. But now looking at this manager, the youngest in the Premier League, >> well, he he took he didn't he come when he was like 29 or 30? He was a baby. >> A ridiculous age, you know, to take a manager's job. Um, yeah, look, from what I've seen, he's had some difficult times there. Uh, but the club are very loyal generally. Brighton. >> Most managers leave them, you know, like Graham Potter left Brighton. This left Brighton to uh to go somewhere else. You know, uh the these happen and there can be disagreements with the ownership, but their model is phenomenal. Like Brenford, the two the two their them two clubs model by the way that the two owners of them football clubs used to work together. Is that a coincidence that their models are so good >> that they can produce? They can lose players. Bford can lose players for fun, replace them. Brighton do exactly the same. It's a They're incredible football clubs how they're run. >> Yeah. >> And I I I totally believe that one day Brighton will be a Champions League team playing in the Champions League. >> You can actually see it >> because of the the owner and the way the club is run. It's running a they know when to sell. They lose believer. They they they'll go and buy someone again and make another star. Kaisedo, you know, the list is endless. >> It's endless. Endless. You forget in a way do >> all if you put a Brighton team together of who they let go you'd say that that team could challenge for the title. >> Wow. >> You know what I mean that if you Pedro at Chelsea >> Yeah. >> You know you go through all the position of the team you go they've had some really top players. >> And I guess they're at that point now where you're right to mention all of these players that have been through the club and left and brought them in a lot of money. Now it's time to push. Let's try and push forward. Let's be more than just a stable mid-table club. push. >> I I the only thing I' I'd say slightly different to that. Their model is to always buy at the right price, the right wages, the right mentality. All them three things are really important at these clubs. I'm talking I mentioned Brighton mainly, but it's it's born Brenford as well. They're not going to break their wage structures. They're going to be generous in what they c they can do, but they will reinvest and again they'll lose players. They'll lose players next year. They'll, you know, there'll always be someone leaving Brighton. Yeah, >> for big money because of what they produce. >> Yeah, you wonder if it can continue this way across the season, but from what you're watching now, it's hard to see them. >> Well, look at falling off a cliff. >> You know, just look at the club and how it's run and it's just phenomenal. And I, you know, the Bloom model happened at Hearts in Scotland and, you know, that was extraordinary what happened with them last year. So, I I'm I wouldn't rule out Brighton mate in Champions League football, maybe even a bit further because they they can really upset people. >> Great. fans, you'll be happy with the sound of that this morning. You can have your say as well. We've got Josh the Brighton fan with us now. Josh, Champions League football, is it on? Morning. >> Yeah. Yeah, I reckon so this season. I think we're um we're much more well equipped than when we went into Europa before. Um I just don't think the squad was deep enough at that point. Um but seeing the way we're playing this season, it's uh it's definitely looking good. And you know, we look at the bench now and it and it just impacts the game every time we bring people on. >> Yeah. And I'd add to that Josh you got a number of injuries to important players. I mentioned Mento uh Matoma Fei Aziz who come from Milwall uh Hinselwood as well and know Jack in Woodwood as another player. So you've got a number of you know good good players that can come back in as well. >> Yeah, absolutely. Like Mento has obviously been the weird one there. obviously had that incest from from Liverpool and he's had that injury and I just hope that hasn't unsettled him >> too much because it's clear that he wanted to go but you know when they when they were saying 50 mil I mean his end product's not really there. I did I did joke to one of my friends I drive him up at that point but that's just how strong the squad is and I don't think I would have been saying that um at the back end of our season definitely not. Um Josh, like we say, can Brighton maintain it across the season because December and the Christmas period can be quite a tough month for Brighton? >> Yeah, and I think I think that's that's the worrying thing for Brighton fans. You know, we've never performed well in the winter seasons and obviously having last year we had that dreading run through December where I don't think he picked up a win. And I think a lot of that point, you know, a lot of fans were on the fence and when the derby was rumored to be going to Brighton, it was, you know, we'll be taking back. But looking at it now, Absolutely not. Happy all the way. >> All right, Josh. Well, thank you very much for your call this morning. Keep believing. All right. >> Yeah. All good. Cheers. >> Cheers, Josh. Yeah, they got Conference League football as well. >> Um, so obviously that's on a Thursday night generally. So, >> I mean, they can win the conference. >> Yeah, of course. I think they're favorites to win the Conference League. Yeah. >> Yeah. But also would be absolutely incredible. >> Yeah.
