"NO MANAGER CAN SORT THIS!" Neil Warnock's SCATHING RANT on Man United after BOMBSHELL interview!
Warnock blasts Man United: players hide behind tactics and no manager can fix this
The show reacts to Bruno Fernandez publicly questioning Manchester United's tactics after a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como. Agbonlahor wants Bruno benched and young players given a chance, while Warnock says the players are dodging responsibility, the defence is far too poor and the problems are deep-rooted; even so, he would still start Bruno because he is their best player.
- Manchester United's tactics were wrong and the team were wrongly told not to press — He publicly questioned the tactics after the 4-1 loss to Como and suggested the instructions were the problem
- Players cannot blame everything on tactics and should adjust on the pitch, press and show effort — The tactics may have been wrong, but players can still decide to press; waiting for the touchline is nonsense
- Manchester United should play young players against Bournemouth and drop Bruno Fernandez to the bench — Bruno has produced nothing but uses the captaincy and star status to publicly attack the manager; some big names do not want to run
- Players never look in the mirror and always blame the manager; Bruno's public questioning of tactics is a disgrace — When things go wrong players blame the pitch, the ball and their boots, now the manager; if the captain backed the manager he would not say that
- Manchester United's defence is far too poor, they lack a centre-half, Dalot cannot defend, and they should spend big on defenders — There is no centre-half in the squad and millions have gone on the forward line and midfield; Dalot would not get in his team
- No manager can sort Manchester United out within a few months because the problems are deep-rooted — Players are publicly criticising tactics and the manager's time is limited; even the best managers in the world would not fix it
- The early goals United conceded against Atletico Madrid and Como are the players' fault, not the manager's; Harry Maguire gave Nico Paz too much time for the first goal — The plan should be to stay tight for the first 10 to 15 minutes, but they conceded after a minute or two; that is individual defending
- Bruno Fernandez should still start against Bournemouth because he is Manchester United's best player and gives them the best chance to win — He wants to win the game, so he must play him; leaving Bruno out and losing again would bring the manager heavy criticism; Bruno might be fired up at home

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandez questioned Man United's tactics in last night's 4-1 loss, battering by the lake in Como, suggesting they were wrongly instructed not to press. Come on. >> Dear Lord. >> Yeah. Yuri Tielemans also spoke to TNT Sports postmatch and had similar views on what went wrong. >> We can only apologize to the fan that that travel, the ones that watch us from home and the ones that support us. They um they're disappointed. We're disappointed, you know, and the only thing we can do is try and show something on the pitch, which which we didn't do enough the last few weeks. >> What do you need to show? What is missing? >> It's uh it's everything, you know, like I said, it's a combination of everything, whether it's tactical, technical, effort. Um and yeah, we need to u try and um try and do better at at everything. >> Do you know what I'm getting? I'm I'm getting the hump here about this. Tactical tactical tactical. >> You don't listen. The tactics were wrong. Okay, they were wrong. But you can adjust yourselves on the football pitch. You can go and press if you feel I've had enough of this. I'm going to get the ball back. >> All this, you know, I can't do anything unless I'm told to do it from the touch line. What a load of baloney. >> Yeah. How about work hard? >> What about a bit effort? Go and show these people we don't even know. They're not even household names in UK. Go and get the ball off them and go and I'm playing for Manchester United here. I'm a I'm a world class player. I played I'm a Belgium international. Give me the ball. Get off the ball. Right. Here we go. >> None of that. Absolutely none of that. It's always so easy to blame the manager. >> I honestly Al, like Rookie says, I would play the kids against Bournemouth. >> Not all the kids. Shay Lacy. Give him a chance. >> You know, like exciting talent, all these big time Charlies who don't want to run around. Bruno Fernandez. >> I'd embarrass him again and bench him. Let's see how we do. >> We scored a goal without you on the pitch, by the way, Bruno. You've done nothing in the game. But because you got the armband, because you're the star player, you think you can just come out and and hammer in the manager. >> So, what exactly does losing the dress room look like and sound like? Let's bring in a man who never lost a dressing room in 45 years. I would have loved to heard him at the end of the game. Don't you worry about that legendary boss of over 1,600 professional games. Neil War Neil. Morning, Neil. >> Morning, mate. >> Yeah. Good morning. Good morning. >> Neil, have you ever heard anything like this in my life? You know, about, well, our tactics were all wrong. We we, you know, we should have pressed them harder. We go and bloody do it then. Yeah, but you when things go wrong in a dressing room, >> players are the ones they never look in the mirror. They always blame something else. Whether it's the the pitch, the balls, it used to be the boots and everything else. Now it's the manager and and you you look at it >> and I I just thought it were a disgrace, mate. I thought Fernandez about a year ago, something like that, when he started waving his arms, Yeah. I did. I hated him from a from a manager's point of in fairness then he started playing and he looked the best player I thought he's their best chance and I understand what Gabby's saying about playing the kids but you can't play the kids on Saturday and and you can't leave Fernandez out. He's going to have to have a chat with him and whatever how much he hates doing it. Yeah, >> he'll play Fernandez on Saturday and he'll say, "Come on, we're at home. Get back to your you know way." Because >> I mean Martinez coming out like that. They're not bothered. They've got a club lined up or they're going to go somewhere else. They're not bothered about the manager. I felt I felt sorry last night for him. >> Neil, be honest O'Neal. Like I know what passionate manager you have been in your past. If you had heard from the press officer last night, Bruno Fernandez comments >> and you still got to travel back together after the game or the day afterwards. You're not going to be able to control yourself, are you? >> Well, you're gonna you're gonna speak to him, but I'm I'm not I'm not being funny. I think if you your captain is on side with you, he he wouldn't he wouldn't even think about saying what he said >> and and neither neither I mean Martin as well you know obviously he's after a move is he but do you know what do you know something Gabby and I >> years ago when when when he took over what do they call Amarin and Amarin took over and he comes in and he says I'm going to play three center ars I'm going to play like this I'm going to play like that and I'm looking at their squad they ain't got one center half. I know Harry's Harry's had a good time there, but they haven't got a center half. Dal Dalot won't get in my team, whatever league I'm in. >> He can't defend. >> Agreed. >> And I'm look at them and they spend millions on the forward line and the midfield. They've never got they've never got a defender and you you can't do any I thought in the summer for somebody like Concer 50 million, whatever it was. I'm thinking Man United should be pushing the boat out for these type of players now because they've got the players in midfield and up front. I just think at the back they are so poor at the back and you can't it's all right saying let's close them down and what you but they never they don't push up themselves at the back. Yeah. >> So I I I feel it's a bigger I mean I can't see a way out now for Michael. I think I wish I could have worked with Michael because he's a lovely lad and he knows what he's doing. He just needs I think he just needs a bit of experience there with him as well. >> Yeah. >> What should he do then, Neil? Should he Should he just say, "I'm not having this. I'm off." Or should he stick in there and say, "No, no, no. You're not kicking me out. I'm doing my best for this club." What should he do in hinds, you know, thinking about it now? It's it's terrible to walk away, but at the same time, he might say, "Get on with them. See you later." >> No, he's not he's not going to walk away, but the guy's at the top. He I think it's almost like he wants to be relieved of his duties really. I mean he he'll he'll be pulling his air out now when people like you know Martinez and Fernandez have a have a go at the tactics then he knows his time is limited and unfortunately for managers that it's the easy way out. They're not going to get rid of the players and and managers. But I'm not bothered who comes in mate. I'm not bothered if bloody Bobby Bobby Robson or where the best managers in the world come in. They won't be able to sort this out. They're not going to sort this out in a few months. >> It's it's it's ingrown. You tell me Allan Alan, you just tell me how anybody in your any of your dressing rooms would have come out publicly and said that about one of your manag >> Martin O'Neal would have like locked you in his office and let you leave. Please come and save you. And you know the players you talk about you know I heard Declan Rice being mentioned earlier and and saying you know I know what Graeme Suna says but when he came available I thought Man United go and sign him 100 million not and it's not just for the way he plays but the way he is in the dressing room and all. They haven't got anybody like that and and so it's not just the value and the ability to play. It's it's that dressing room spirit that that I think they lack. I think as well, Neil, like I was saying to Alan earlier, >> if you're going to Atletico Madrid away a couple of weeks ago, don't concede early, concede after a minute. All right, then. Como, very good side, guys. You know what? Keep it tight first 10, 15, concede after 2 minutes. I mean, come on. That's not the manager's fault. That's the players. Harry Magguire, I love him, but you can't let Nico Paz have that time. Turn on his left foot and whip one in the top corner in the first two minutes. Can you >> and Neil and Neil against your old boys leads? United showed a bit of spirit, didn't they? They showed a bit of guzz. >> Yeah, they did. And and I I I just look at I look at the comparison with leads. I think Daniel's done a fantastic job there. It's only last year they were having him out. Are you with me? They wanted to get him out and he sorted it out and now he's got the dressing room buzzing and all behind him. And you can see that on the field of play, but here you you you can't see any any light at the end of the tunnel here. >> Neil, if you were the manager on Sunday against Bournemouth, be honest. Are you starting Bruno Fernandez with Griy if you're starting him? >> Absolutely. Because I want to win the game. Okay. Then he's their best player. So I I would have a chat with him quietly. I mean the way Michael is he's not going to fall out with him, is he? But I think I think if he could if he he'll get hold of him in the dressing room and say, "Come on, just show me what you can do." Blah blah blah. He knows now he's on a slippery slope, Michael. So he's not he's not gonna if you leave Bruno out and it's another disaster, he'll get absolute pelters. So he's gota he's got to play him and and and Bruno Fernandez at home, you might get a shift out of him. When you get a shift out of him, you got a chance of winning any game >> because he's such a good player. It's just a shame. >> Where are you the weekend, Neil? Are you working? Are you watching? >> Top of the league. Top of the league. Battle Alan Maidston United. >> Right. Where? Home and away. >> Do home or away? >> At home. Yeah. Brewing brewing. Hey, there's one good thing to look forward to, Alan. There could be a a top Manchester derby next year in the Championship, couldn't there? >> Oh, no. No, no, no. Don't use that. Don't use that. You never know. >> Yeah. >> And lastly, lastly before I go, another one. Jimmy Anderson. Yeah. I look at I look at those oldies, mate, and I look at Anderson and I think 11 11 games, 50 wickets, and it'll be somebody coming in a new director of football that we don't will go in a different direction. What an embarrassment that is. If he can't get another year there just for what he does around the place, I I I do not understand things like that, Alan. >> Well, I I couldn't agree more with you, Neil. Thank you, Neil. Good luck at the weekend, man. Thank you. Cheers, lads. Neil Warner there is entertaining as ever. So interesting Neil would play Fernandez and say get out there and show me show. >> I get it. I get it. >> I know what you're saying Gab as well. So, it's a dilemma for Michael if he's still in charge.
