What a cracker this is going to be. Leads are flying with nine points from the first six games sitting seventh in the table and are completely United under Daniel Far. H that certainly isn't the case for Manchester United who sit 13th just two wins from nine games this season. Martinez's outburst following the defeat to Atéico on Tuesday was the last thing manager Michael Carrick needed, but Martinez has since apologized. It's understood he's been punished with a fine but is available for selection on Sunday. Do you know I wouldn't pick him and yet it's a game where you need a bit of guts and a bit of fight and he's got that. I wouldn't pick him. Would you? >> No, definitely not. You got to look at the big picture. You can't run a football club and an enterprise like Man United when you've got players coming out >> and criticizing the bosses. >> He's he's hammer he's hammering Jim Rackliffe. He's hammering the Glaziers and maybe maybe he's right. what he's saying, but you can't come out and say to the world, look what it's caused. Look at the position he's put the manager in. Now, everyone's watching, are you going to play him or not? I'd find him two weeks wages and I'd let the rest of them know like Alex Ferguson would. If you behave like that, this is what happens. >> Yeah. Well, what would Fergie what would he have done with a criy? To answer that question, I'd like to say former assistant manager Manchester United joins us now, Renie Mullingstein. Renie, good morning, Renie. >> Morning, Renie. Good morning, Dino. Good morning, Alan. >> First of all, Renie, it's a big game, isn't it? United against Lead United. No love lost there, mate. Especially Ellen Road. >> No, no, they are uh you know, from history wise, you know, Leads has always been uh you know, cranked it up for those games and that will definitely happen on on Sunday. >> What would Fergie would would would would Fergie have got him not against the wall, sorry, but would he would he have got a hold of him in the room just him in the one-on-one and say, "What are you doing? What are you doing, son?" Yeah. Well, I think we all know and remember when when obviously Rodney put his transfer request in. And I think in situations like this, I think it's important to review the situations first, you know, um who said it and how he said it. Then it's important to reflect on it. You know, what did he say exactly and when did he say it? And then you have to respond. And I think every club uh in the Premier League, obviously including Manchester United, they've got clear protocols and regulations when somebody speaks out to the hierarchy of the club. So >> there's no secret there that would happen of any club. So that Dino is is spot on with that one. But I think some things have been taken out of context a little bit because, you know, I don't think that Martinez said anything bad about the current transfers or the players. He just said that he they they weren't backed enough. And as you know Dino sometimes after football you know the emotions run high. They haven't won in five games you know I think it was just an outburst of emotions and negativity where he felt that possibly again Michael Carrick was coming under scrutiny. Maybe he wanted to protect him to some some word of thing. But it is not to say that I that I agree with it what he did. Absolutely not. But sometimes you need to look at what did he say? And I think if you take that in into context I think there's plenty of people that would agree with him. So yeah, uh what is going to happen? Obviously apologize then you have to sit down with him. Uh I don't think he necessarily put Michael Carrick in a bad in a bad position but Michael has to obviously to deal with it and making sure that maybe in some ways use it to his advantage because the only thing that needs to happen now with Manchester United everybody have to step up. Everybody has to step up and the best way to do it is is Sunday against Leeds. Rene, I I think the difference if he'd have said that when Alex Ferguson was manager, it would have been a personal insult on Fergie because no one come through the door at Old Trafford without Alex Ferguson agreeing to it. Now Michael Carrick, it looks to he's bypassed Michael Carrick and gone on to um what's >> Jason Wilcox and and maybe the owner. So Michael Carrick can actually not be offended by what he said because if you if Michael Carrick has signed all them players, he's saying look look at you've bought who have you brought into the dressing room. They're not good enough. That's what he's more or less saying. So I think it's slightly different because now things structure changed in football. It used to be the manager and the owner. Now you've got people in between who responsible for bringing the players in. >> No, I agree. We also don't know if there have been any any been conversations being taken place before that where they have aired >> their concerns because look at it if you look back a few months ago Manchester United was flying on the market carrick they were third in the league they were playing great football again everybody was thinking listen this is great so I can understand that every player in that squad because they have gone through some turbulent seasons they wanted to kick on and what happens the opposite has happened and you ask yourself how's that possible what has changed? You know, I can't I can't I can't really put my finger on it myself because they had a whole preseason. They can work to it. And you think, listen, just just carry on where we left off. But again, they they lost away some >> well for any let's take this Tottenham game. You Tottenham are struggling mad badly. Can't score goals. Outplayed Manchester United for a good 40 minutes up at Old Trafford. um you know that that was and people are pointing out to me saying they're not running enough, they're not working hard enough, they're not getting around the pitch enough. The stats tell you that. Can that be right? >> No, absolutely not. And I think you're spot on. I think not only Tottenham outplayed them, but that they outrun them. You know, they they they press, they were on the front foot, and that's another team that is trying to find form. And they come to Manchester United, which they considered think, well, that's going to be a difficult game for us. But I thought they were absolutely outstanding. And with that kind of mentality, intensity, that's the way that Manchester United have to go, you know, to leads if they want to give themselves any kind of chance. >> Looking at the weekend, Renee and Michael Carrick, obviously it's strange that he's in this position, but can they afford to sack him if they lose this game at the weekend? >> They shouldn't sack him, but you know why? Because again, you're bringing in somebody else. I hear names and this and that the other. I mean, that's not the problem. Address address the problem. Like I said, Dino, a few months ago, everything was fantastic. Everybody was playing well. United was playing well. There was a good structure, a good organization. He has to go back with his staff very, very quickly and say, "Okay, what were the key parameters? Why we were so good five, four or five months ago? Where have we lost it now?" Address that and then carry on again because you're only again two wins away from, you know, finding form again. So, I wouldn't I wouldn't do that if I would be the club. >> Renie, interesting as well. Uh, but by the way, what a game that was. PSG Man City. I hope you enjoyed that Ren. That was a classic, wasn't it? >> I mean, Alan, honestly, I' I've seen a lot of good games. Really good luck game. But that was the best I've ever seen from start to finish. Normally games have a little bit of a a moment where not not much is happening. But that wasn't the case in the Paris man game. The only thing what I couldn't understand the way that Paris men started the game and the front foot pressing the city really fiercely and City never really turned them and got him behind. Yeah, >> they did that with the substitutions in the second half and they could have turned the game around if not made it unbelievable to watch >> and Tottenham City. I just want to draw your attention if you don't mind comments of Louis Van Gal who believes he may have gone through all the consequences and suffering of losing his job at Manchester United as a direct result of Manchester City's cheating scandal. What do you make of that Renie? Well, this maybe typical typical Louis Vanal comment, but I don't think that that was the reason because if you look a little bit deeper at that time that Louis Van Gal was the manager. >> Yeah, >> Manchester United didn't play the Manchester United way. It was labeled. It was possession based. You had 99% possession and no shots at goal. So, I don't think that was the reason. But, um, well, listen, it has repercussions for so many other teams if you look if you look beyond it and we're still waiting to see what happening with that. >> Yeah, Renie, just one last one. And do you feel maybe entitled to the 2012 league title uh losing out to Aguero that last gaps goal? >> Well, listen Al, I I I remember the moment vividly because I walked in into the tunnel straight away to meet up with our analyst Simon Simon Wolves and he came out the door with his head hand in his hel in his head in his hands and saying you know Aguero just scored. Yeah. And honestly, my heart my heart sank in my in my shoes. And uh I I didn't even come out, you know, to the pitch anymore after that because, >> you know, people came came in drips and drops in the dressing room. But yeah, listen, I've it is what it is. I I don't think, you know, uh what he's going to do with it. But at the moment, you know, um you've lost it. So I don't I do you know, it's a can of worms, Renee, isn't it? You can What kind of worms? I mean, would would the players at Man United be entitled to sue the club for the win bonus, >> the winning the league bonus, a million quid a man? >> Steady, Dino. >> Well, no, but I mean, it's endless, isn't it? You know, you go >> Dino. Dino, you just give me an idea. >> Yeah, >> I would if I was you. >> Oh dear. We'll have the lawyers on now. H Renie, great to talk to you again. Thank you. Have a great weekend. >> Thank you. Thank you, Renie Mullenstein. Yeah, it is. It's a bucket of worms and a can of worms. A big can of worms. It's a nightmare. Nightmare. >> Right. So, Renie says, "No way United should sack Carrick. United fans, do you agree? 03717234 is the number to call. Leads fans, you can't wait for this one, can you?" Up next, we turn our attention to the other fixtures this weekend. Also, find out what Dino's death row meal would be. God, where did that come from? >> Hey. Hey, >> that's Is that Ollie? >> Shocking. Shocking 8:14.
